Bird of the day

Jack of Diamonds - Spotted Crake

This one has something to hide!

Most likely himself!

I have never seen or heard of him!

Although he is known to be charming and quite smart, he has tendencies to act a bit immature, sometimes he is supposed to not be very well informed about, what is really going on. I think I have caught up with him, after one of his rather silly voupas and now he feels quite awkward!?

I love it! "Most likely himself".

Card of the Day. Tuberose. And a citation from Nietzsche. What a combination to put that citation on a card with a flower painted by an artist from the time of Marie Antoinette.

The citation is a bit strange to me, I have thought about it during the day but I'm not "getting" it.

@Mi-Shell So much fun!! :78496:🛣️

I am torn between two, but I'm finally choosing...

The bag on the right -- the one with wooden beads.

Bird of the Day:

Queen of Clubs - American Bittern

There is some weird stick stuck in the Bulrushes!

And it makes even weirder noises!

Oonggk – alonkg, oonggk – alonkg it clucks in a gurgley baritone.

Who would have thought that THIS is her Majesty the Queen of Clubs??

What has gotten into her?

What heinous thing has she done now, that she needs to hide out here?

Oh, she had an affair with that equally strange Spotted Crake from yesterday!

THAT explains it!

I would have thought, that with her warm vital personality and her witty resourcefulness she could have done better!

But, as it is, she married mister Bittern for money and minnows – no love there –

And now, after this fling came to light, she is kicked out of the castle and has to act, as if she is not even there....

Sadly she just does not have the voice, to sing for her dinner......

Yes yes @Mi-Shell those two had an affair! Please do not stop posting. I drew a card this morning and pretty much concludes the day that now comes to an end. The card is Never wrong.

Edit: Oh, this flower is my favourite garden flower, called "krasse" in Sweden. Love the colors incl the green leafes. It grows easily and gives lot of colour. This is a very positive card.

Bird of the Day

3 of Spades – Red Breasted Merganser

Well well well, the plot thickens!

Here we have someone, who is well known for his interference - Third party interference, that is! An unkind disruptor! A troublesome Adult!!

I think it was this guy, that ratted out her Majesty the Queen of Clubs and now he of course fell afoul with the Jack of Diamonds, because he stuck his quacking beak into something that was none of his business. And, even worse, he just got a very rough dunking from him...

He can barely hold his head above water!

Whew, sorry to leave you all hanging - very busy work weekend and week!   But I'm all caught up now.      🙂

Mi-shell, I thought all of them looked interesting on the outside (heh), but I'm also drawn to the deck on the right.    It intrigues me the most for some reason.

I am hoping to manage a few more readings so I can move on, but I like the Stolen Child deck, it's going on my list.

Bird of the Day

Oh oh!

I pulled the Joker!

Black Winged Stilt

With this card – anything goes!

Situations can change, switch around on a dime, reverse themselves – for 10 minutes only, then switch back around.....

This fellow has very loooooong legs, so he can keep his tushy above the high water line.

So tread careful!

The jester is afoot!

So, for the coming week, the popular choice is the deck in the Siberian bark basket 🙂

It is one of my Jody Bergsma Animal Playing card decks:

@Mi-Shell Yay! That's certainly a lovely deck of animal playing cards. I'm sure you'll get wonderful readings out of it. (Your bird reading this morning is especially great!)

Last night, I laid out a practice reading for an imaginary querent. She's a few months into a romantic relationship and wanted to know where it's headed. Three cards were drawn:

Six of Swords ~ Two of Cups ~ Four of Pentacles

Unfortunately, this spread alarmed me. I see a conflict: the end cards are pulling in opposite directions away from the central, forward-facing card.

In my interpretation, the Two of Cups represents the relationship. The Six of Swords and Four of Pentacles each represent a partner in the relationship. On one hand, I see someone who is seeking respite from the partnership, and on the other, a partner who is turned towards self, not focused on sharing or contributing to the success of the partnership.

The Six of Swords shows a cat and her kitten, safe and content in each other's arms, sailing aboard a large swan. A turret burns on the distant shore behind them.

The Four of Pentacles shows a small ape sitting on the floor, holding onto jewelry, treasure and bags of coins with all four paws. This simian's countenance reveals nothing of affection or camaraderie. What's conveyed is more like suspicion.

My instant reaction to this spread is that a split is inevitable and probably for the best. Studying it doesn't reveal much else to me, except that the even numbers on both sides make them feel stuck in their trajectory.

Wanting to test my interpretation and anxious to try out my new Royal Mischief Transformation Playing Cards to see if I can make them work, I drew one card and turned up the 2 of Spades, entitled "Smoke Break". Well, this feels like validation. The querent and her partner really aren't good for one another. They appear to be reinforcing each other's problematic behaviors. It also occurs to me that if one partner rejects this mode of interaction, the partnership definitely runs into trouble. (In the playing-card system I use most often, the 2 of Spades stands for "The Enemies".)

Finally, it seems to me that the partner who is contemplating flight in the Six of Swords is the only one who can make such a decision, because the person represented in the Four of Pentacles wouldn't. In fact, I almost worry about the possessiveness evident in the Four of Pentacles playing out in a negative way should the relationship actually break up.

This morning, I felt so bad about this gloomy reading, I turned to the Otherkin companion book to see how far off course I've wandered. Apparently, I haven't. Not at all.

@Mi-Shell I have had so much fun reading your posts in this thread. When I saw that photo of the bird "3 of spade" I really exploded and couldn't get myself together to write a reply 🤣🤣🤣

Well, today was a day when I really needed the "strengh card" I pulled this morning. I really like this deck. The flowers are so gentle but not too. And the citations on the card are actually very nice. I love flowers, in general, though.

@Madame Squee It was nice to see the Royal mischiefs in action!

@Katie My glorious deck of Heritage "Insects and Spiders" playing cards arrived today! Thank you for the suggestion. 🌿🐛

Also, tying up loose ends... I meant to take a photo of a nasturtium in my flower bed the other day when your card turned up. I'm just a very simple grower of easy seed-packet flowers -- marigolds, cosmos, bachelor buttons and nasturtiums. You're right about the leaves.
