I'm subscribed to Benebell Wen's blog so I got an email about these two offerings. She has a bonus offering of a printable mini-Vitruvian deck with any purchase of her 2020 Metaphysical Planner - https://benebellwen.com/2019/09/03/skt-vitruvian-mini-do-it-yourself-printables/ - and will include a tutorial on the printing and putting it together.

She has also made some downloadable printable stickers available for free on her blog - https://benebellwen.com/2019/09/05/skt-3-x-5-tarot-stickers-template-download/ - which are pre-made 3 card spreads (using her Vitruvian deck) that are designed for specific goals/aspirations in life.

She's away from social media at the moment so she's happy for people to get the word out about these two offers. 🙂

thank you for sharing this, @Starlight

wow, she made it so easy to get all the right tools for both projects.  I might actually do the stickers, since she's formatted them for specific Avery labels.  That's so awesome!

oh wow, i might actually take her up on this since I imagine whatever it costs to print this would be far less than the $500 the actual deck is going for!!!

@Raggydoll do you think you might chime in (or maybe make a separate thread we could reference) about how to most effectively print out our own copies of decks (as you did with the greenwood), with recommendations about what card stock/finish/etc to use???

Sure I could. Do you mean having it printed professionally? Or do you mean home printed? I have done both. If you’re interested in a guide on how to use Printerstudio then I could absolutely do that but it would have to wait until after the weekend 🙂

@Raggydoll I am not sure how much more work one would be than the other but i'd be interested in guides to both. (But obviously no pressure or rush on time at all!) Also i'm super fascinated by the whole card stock thing and how you go about deciding what to use (silk matte, linen finish, etc) and even just a rundown about that would be super helpful to me. And hopefully other people!

The home printer thing is just about making sure what your printer can take as far as thickness of paper (the guidebook should say). Mine can take around 300gsm but not every printer can. And then I always go for a matte paper because the glossy ones are always thinner (like photos really) and useless for shuffling. And you can generally never print on the back of them (assuming you want to add a back design!). I purchased a matte paper that was 225 gsm and that you could print on each side. The downside is this: you will never get the same feel or the same look like with professional cards and it will not be as durable. I was able to get a great deal on my paper but generally it can be expensive. Really expensive. To the point where you’d have to print many decks for it to pay off. Printerstudio may actually be cheaper. It just takes some know how, but it’s not super difficult if you’re somewhat familiar with photo editing programs.

I can do a guide with screenshots etc probably next week. I’ll make it a new thread so more people can find it. I’ll just go and jot that down in my calendar right now before I forget it 😉👍
