VGimlet Posted September 21, 2019 Author Posted September 21, 2019 (edited) Moving on this week to the Muse Tarot - it seems a little light-hearted and I'm feeling a bit darker - but it's next on the "to be read" stack so maybe there is a reason for it, maybe I need a little lightening up. Seasons are changing, and I'm always a bit sad to see summer go, even though I like the crisp nights and even the storms of fall. My 19 day vacation starts in 6 days (not that I'm counting the hours or minutes, haha). We have a new puppy coming next month. I hear you all thinking, "Didn't you just get a new puppy Barb?" "Why yes, my little blue terror of an Aussie, Draco, who is turning 6 months old Monday." (We joke about him being a terror, but he's actually extremely sweet, and he's getting us off our behinds and out moving...because a tired Draco is a good Draco...) But yes, we are getting another puppy in October - hopefully this one will turn out to be my husband's dog, because Draco is most firmly my dog. This one will be another Saint, a cousin to our current two Saints. Right now she is 3 weeks old, and her call name is probably going to be Phoenix. 🙂 Edited September 21, 2019 by VGimlet

Saint Bernard puppies are like animated stuffed toys. It's very nearly sickening. LOL.
Mi-Shell Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Hmm..... This is my last week at home, we will take our little motor home and travel south for ~~6 weeks.... I will be very busy getting everything ready, doing 1 more Market and e a few more clients.... So I will just stick with the Anieth Nature Deck for my daily draws this week.

Madame Squee Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 (edited) Thank you for the thread VG. I hadn't experienced a puppy for decades until about a month ago when my youngest son and his wife brought home a 9-week-old black baby pug. I've been watching him on Thursdays. I truly admire your stamina. I'm still working with the Antique Anatomy Tarot and the Oracle of the Oddities, doing a daily draw of one tarot card and two oracle cards to expound on it. (I only have videos of this wild pug puppy, so I tried to clip a frame out of one of them. We shall see how it looks. He really is wonderful.) Dog + Clover = a lucky friend. Or a fast friend? (I can't catch him.) Edited September 22, 2019 by Madame Squee
Bodhiseed Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Squee, that is a little ball of cuteness in that clover!
VGimlet Posted September 23, 2019 Author Posted September 23, 2019 Aww, what a cutie-pie! Enjoy your travels Mi-Shell, and check in when you can. 🙂
Bodhiseed Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 (edited) From the Golden Tarot, the Five of Cups; from the Yantra Deck, Support: He may have a big castle with lots of servants, but money hasn't brought this king happiness. Perhaps his children got caught up in the opioid crisis or his wife ran off with his best friend. Platitudes offered, like "This too shall pass," might be true, but they rarely offer any comfort. Kristin Neff speaks of the yin and yang of self-compassion. The yin side includes self-care, recognition that suffering is a shared human condition, and a mindfulness of one's own suffering that doesn't wallow but does validate and accept. The yang side involves protecting ourselves, recognizing that we are not alone, and refusing to be silent and shamed. We soothe ourselves and respond appropriately. The Support card parallels Neff's ideas, suggesting both giving and receiving. While it is important to find healthy support systems and companions who encourage us, we can also use our own pain to help others be free from their own. Edited September 23, 2019 by Bodhiseed
Mi-Shell Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 Oh!?? @Madame Squee: An antique anatomy Tarot!? That is something I have to check out!
Mi-Shell Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 @Bodhiseed you and me both seem to be into the 5= Strive today: I pulled the 5 of Air, Death and the 5 of Stones today. It will be an interesting day- but at least I have been forewarned.....
VGimlet Posted September 28, 2019 Author Posted September 28, 2019 Things I liked about the Muse Tarot - artwork Things I didn't find so wonderful - the changed suites, (I coped, because it wasn't too far off field, but it always makes me think "what?" for a moment when I'm reading with them.) Cards were toooo thick. Yes, they will stand up to years of use, but to start with...they were just clunky to shuffle and draw. My less than .02.
