Raggydoll Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Lets chat about our ideas and our progress! We are also going to have a special thread where you can post pictures of your work in progress, as well as one where you can feature your finished card (if you want to - its voluntary!).
Raggydoll Posted January 10, 2020 Author Posted January 10, 2020 I am super excited for this and I am so glad to finally be able to share it with you all! Secret planning is fun but it’s even better after the reveal 😀 And yes, I did jump the gun and claimed a card for myself from the very start. I am taking it as a small reward for the work that has been put in 😊 My card will be Explorer of Air (aka Knight of Swords), and I have begun working on it. I will feature it soon in the WIP thread 🙂
Starlight Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 I've gone through the threads for the project and I"m not sure if I missed it - but is the focus on any particular Tarot system? Thoth? TdM? RWS? All of them in the same deck?

So that is exactly what we want!
Raggydoll Posted January 10, 2020 Author Posted January 10, 2020 I should probably mention that since every person will write a short description of their card then we will all know what they intended and so then the different systems won't really matter!
geoxena Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 (edited) Hiya! So, some cards are already finished but are not in the thread for completed cards. Will we get to see the finished cards as they are submitted? Also, regarding the "Big Guidebook" for extended descriptions, instead of a forum thread, why not gather the extended descriptions you get and put them all into one document, a PDF. Then just have that as a page here somewhere. I suggest that because it seems rather unwieldy and possibly confusing to have multiple posts for various cards, but not all cards in the deck, and some buyers might come over from Printerstudio who are not used to navigating discussion forums. And, as I understand it, we dont have to submit our description until our cards are finished - correct? Edited January 15, 2020 by geoxena typo

Will we get to see the finished cards as they are submitted? That thread might go away, I haven't decided yet (update: I have removed it for now). I put it there in case people wanted to feature their finished cards but it does seem redundant now that people are posting in the WIP thread instead 🙂 Sharing pictures of the original artwork is not mandatory. Once the deck is done it is possible however that we provide pictures of the finished cards in the guidebook. Quote Also, regarding the "Big Guidebook" for extended descriptions, instead of a forum thread, why not gather the extended descriptions you get and put them all into one document, a PDF. I think you might have misunderstood what's been said. There will be a post for each of the cards. As I wrote in the description - those that do not want to write an in depth description will just send me their short description and then that will be added to the big guidebook instead. And there will only be one post per card in that guidebook, so I don't get why it would be confusing. We will of course also have a direct link to the guidebook on Printerstudio so no forum navigation skills will be necessary. The index that you see will have links for all the cards and then you can click on the card that you want to read about. I think most people can figure that out. It is possible that it will eventually become a big PDF but right now I find this a fun and easy way to compile it all. I also felt that it would be interesting for people to see the texts as they come it. Like I said previously, we might also add images of the completed cards in the guidebook once the deck is printed. But for now I ask you to simply have some patience. There are bound to be some tweaks and improvements done to how we arrange and organize it all - this is an ongoing process! The smaller guidebook will be great for those that might want to print out a copy of condensed keywords. I don't think anyone will struggle to understand the difference between a booklet and a big guidebook. Several decks have similar systems, like the druidcraft tarot etc. Quote And, as I understand it, we dont have to submit our description until our cards are finished - correct? That is correct!
Eric13 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Great idea. This will take some time to think over for some unique but true definitions.

I would say it isn't up to raggy. I don't plan to post mine.

Well that is almost true, we only have one person submitting all the cards, so that person will have to see it BEFORE the printing happened But other than that, of course you are correct gregory.

We have already sorted it and I have no idea if it was a glitch because us moderators can’t technically ever get a full inbox, but no matter - me and Eric have spoken 🙂

Arania Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Do we need to send the finished card in jpg or png?

I think most people have sent it in jpg but png works too. We will likely make all the finished cards into jpg anyway, so that they don't take forever to upload to printerstudio 🙂
Arania Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 ..and then I went to send it and remembered the 100 words description to go along with it, opened a document, started to write and...got writers block! On a 100 word short description... while the words are clearly present in my head. 🤣 I'm unbelievable sometimes.
Perenelle Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Oh my, I need to look at the specs again, I have most of my needed supplies but only the barest inkling of an image. Lately I've been feeling some creative block. I'm reading through some of the posts to see if I can jog my inspiration! Hopefully I'll have something to share here soon!
Pen Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Re. posting a link to the guidebook on the Printers Studio page, I have an idea that I tried to do that once but it wasn't allowed. Of course I could be wrong as I don't think it's possible to check this until you actually try to do it.
gregory Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 (edited) I don't think you can. I think the best option is to put a link to whatever in a card in the deck - Aisselle did that. I hate the way PS shows you a full deck with the bleed line showing.... the real card should only have the purple line. For anyone who was panicking. (I shall now go and check MY deck up there...) Ugh yes - they are all like that. Something to bear in mind when ordering - not to worry about the line! Edited March 14, 2020 by gregory
Pen Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 A link on an info card is a good idea gregory - clever Aisselle! As for the bleed line, it means the cards you're seeing will have that bit cut off, and of course the safe area purple line won't be visible on the finished cards.

Yes I think we will trust Aisselle here. She is truly a wise woman 😊
shade00 Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Hello! I'm new and I wanted a big group of people's opinions on a reading I got recently. I needed some help interpreting what the cards were telling me (predictive in nature). Would this be the thread to do so? Thank you in advance!

You need five posts to ask for help and even then, you need to provide your own interpretations before anyone can help you. And it needs to be done in the right thread (it’s called Personal tarot readings but you can’t access it yet since you don’t have the required 5 posts). So start by reading the rules and learn to navigate the forum. Maybe make an introduction (also NOT in this thread) 🙂 https://www.thetarotforum.com/rules/
Jewel Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 I still need to do my long description for two of my cards .... hmmmmmmmm .... must get on that ASAP!
