The Lightseer's Tarot

As previously mentioned, I received this deck for Winter Solstice December last.

My first impression was very positive. Here is, what I initially wrote:

Quoting myself here in the unboxing thread:

The Light Seer's Tarot arrived!♥

A very sturdy box that survived the trip into the bush without any dents!♥

It fits the cards quite snug, but it is still easy to take them in and out. ♥

the card sized booklet is about 1 cm thick, has sturdy pages and fits well into said box.♥

The cards are amazing! A mat finish but still, the colours pop and there is no sticking ♥

The card pack thick - quite a hand full and shuffling may be a bit of a trick.  ?

For this quality, the price point is very attractive. ♥

I am looking forward to exploring and using the deck!♥

Now, after using the deck, a few card stock flaws are coming into focus:

All my cards – right through the deck have a bend/ “knick” on one side, most likely from the printing process.

Some of the cards have a visible crease on the side of the image due to that.

OK, This is the cheap mass production and – what do I expect ?? right??!!

I was willing to ignore that. But now, after shuffling these rather stiff and sturdy feeling cards since New year's I am noticing, that the card-stock is getting “delaminations”= spots, where the cardboard fluffs out. First it was just 2 or 3 cards and I tried hard NOT to remember which ones they are – but now this is happening to more and more cards 😞

I had hoped that this deck would become a nice modern addition to my decks with which I read face to face with, but now I am slowly realizing, that the card-stock will not hold up to that kind of use.

It is difficult to take pictures of this kind of stuff, so.... I hope you can see, what I mean........

This is a known flaw, unfortunately. They have made the announcement that they will replace all the faulty decks with new ones that will be printed in February. It’s all over Facebook. So contact the publisher, they will know exactly what you are referring to!

I'm glad I haven't purchased yet, I'm wanting the deck so badly though.

Definitely wait until this is fixed. It’s a lovely deck 🙂

Oh thanks for the warning. I had it in my basket. OUT it goes.

Thank you so much @Mi-Shell and @Raggydoll for that clarification! I was about to buy it as it keeps coming up, I am so drawn to it. So will wait until we know it is fixed!

I think it was For love of cards. I am going to look into it later today and post whatever info i can find here 💗

Yes, contact HayHouse directly. They are aware of the issue and will send a very kind email promising a free replacement 🙂

Oh wow, I was not aware of the production issues with the mass market. I have the kickstarter edition, though I have not bonded with it yet, it almost seems too neat or too pretty....

How is everybody getting on with the deck?

I just saw on Facebook that they are now sending out replacement decks and those that have received these new decks say they are completely free of issues. So definitely contact the publisher and they will send you a new one!
