Niobium Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 @FindYourSovereignty The good news here BTW is Claire tends to already have her decks in production, or nearly so, and can often ship them within a few weeks of the end of the campaign. Not sure if that's true this time as well but if so we won't even have a long wait for the deck. Wisdom of Pooh is doing quite well too, as is Bana's Traditional Korean Tarot. A good week all around!

I noticed in her campaign she writes that she is waiting for the proof to arrive. That’s impressive. She has an add on for each of her other two decks. I don’t have either one, but am leaning towards the Illuminated Earth. It speaks to me more. Wisdom of Pooh looks a little ways out with several cards not completed yet. Smart of them to promote the Tigger, too deck although some may only want one. I do, however, wish they had spent time getting the book ready for this campaign. Cannot have everything, I guess. 😊

If I remember correctly I read that Claire hoped to have decks sent out in September, but given how quickly the goal was reached and how progressed the campaign seems in general, I’m hoping she was just being cautious. 2 hours ago, FindYourSovereignty said: She has an add on for each of her other two decks. My cursor hovered over the Illuminated Earth add on for ages 😂 but I decided not to get it in the end as along with shipping to the U.K. the pledge was quite expensive for me… I have the Faceted Garden and I love it so much. DanielJUK Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 There is a cute full tarot deck Kickstarter based on Winnie the Pooh on Kickstarter by Rue & Vervain who previously made the Earth, Moon, & Shadow Oracle https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rueandvervain/wisdom-of-pooh-tarot It ends on the 22nd March but seems to have already made funding levels. This was promoted to me as a sponsored ad on Instagram It's using the original art by E. H. Shepard from the first book. I am interested if this makes it to completion with copyright laws. They are using the artwork of the first book, published in 1926. Under USA copyright law, they become public domain 75 years after the author's death or 95 years after publication. So became public domain in 2022, and other things are using those original book drawings of Pooh, including a horror movie! Winnie the Pooh is actually trademarked, so it's not called that. Also Disney images and later characters and artwork are still copyrighted, so no Tigger until he expires in 2024. However in the UK and EU it's 70 years after the last original author's death, so 2027. With RWS they fought every date and both Waite's and Coleman's deaths to keep it in copyright as long as possible.

Fascinating how quickly they jumped on this and it explains why Tigger was not included in this first attempt. I look forward to see how this plays out.

I am going to pick up a copy after it hits retail / online availability. I'm not interested in the extra cards all that much. I hope all the extras -- stuffed plushie, journals, etc. doesn't hamper the project completion date. They have a lot of irons in the fire with their goals and add-ons and that can really become a mess as delivery date approaches. It's super cute though, I look forward to the release.
KiMo Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Oh my goodness, this artwork is stunning 😍 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/749432793/le-tarot-mystique?ref=discovery_newest&term=tarot I'm not sure I can invest this much though, especially given the fact it's majors only...
Niobium Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Oh it looks so nice!! I wish it wasn't majors only. Ah well. I look forward to seeing everyone's photos of theirs. :)
Niobium Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 So, an artist whose work I love, Coey Kuhn, is kickstarting a deck. It's a grayscale Gothic style deck, and though it's pips I might...talk myself into it, just because it's Coey Kuhn. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/13crownsstudio/catacombs-end-tarot I have to think it over. But...Coey Kuhn! Ugh, why is it pips. <cries>
DanielJUK Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 In recent months we've had some members posting their own decks in this thread and we just wanted to clarify about posting Kickstarters here. This thread is for posting decks you have seen on crowdfunders across the net and want to share with the community. But posting a link to your own crowdfunder for your deck breaches the self-promotion rule. No links to your own stuff are allowed outside the Promote Yourself area, this includes this thread. We want to keep all self-promotion in one place. It's allowed in Promote Yourself and linked in Signatures but only subscribers can post their own links in both as a perk. Crowdfunders posted in Promote Yourself can be updated once a week with new info and details. The member can also share their thread in this area in this thread but cannot link to it directly. Moderators will also share posted crowdfunders in the Promote Yourself here when they see them and if they have not been shared already. To clarify - Posting crowdfunders you have seen for decks across the net here = ✔️ totally fine and welcomed Posting your own deck crowdfunder = ❌ not allowed, breaches self-promotion rule to link to it directly Posting a reference in the thread to your Promote Yourself thread for it or to a link in signature = ✔️allowed as not directly self-promotion to a link Thank all, we want to keep self-promotion links out of threads across the main forum areas to keep it a nice community

Oh I had a good look through their website, the museum is now on my bucket list 😅 And I can tell you that my heart sank as I browsed the shop, some of the decks they have are just gorgeous and I really don't need anything more to be hankering after!
Niobium Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 People more patient than I have been rewarded! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1852128416/the-epigraphic-tarot?ref=discovery My copy is now in California somewhere so should be with me in a week or so, maybe less. Should be the 'standard' one on the far right. But I don't regret using this as my trial for a direct purchase from taobao as there are still some decks one can't get outside of the US. (I expect the total cost will wind up the same, but I'm curious about whatever add-ons they'll put in.)
stephanelli Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 I discovered this deck on Kickstarter recently and decided it needed sharing here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rueandvervain/wisdom-of-pooh-tarot A Winnie the Pooh tarot! I think it looks adorable and I wanted it simply because of the cuteness and because I love Winnie the Pooh. (And in our bedroom redecorating process I found my cute Winnie the Pooh teddy bear and my two Eeyore's!) I was mmm-ing and ahh-ing about getting the mini deck and my husband decided to just go ahead and back it for me 😆 saying it'll most likely be an early Christmas present by the time it's due to arrive (if it goes as per their timeline!)
PathWalker Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Oh My Gosh - I'm pretending that I'm "calmly thinking about this" . . . .
DanielJUK Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 We discussed it a little higher up the thread, they have taken out sponsored ads *everywhere* online. I said before that I am interested if it gets published through copyright or not. The first Pooh book is public domain in America (since last year) and the deck is being published in America but they cannot use the trademarked name Winnie the Pooh and any later drawings or characters apart from the first book. On paper it should be okay but it's a big brand and so I am watching this one if it comes to be 🙂 It's adorable! 🧸
FindYourSovereignty Posted March 14, 2023 Author Posted March 14, 2023 (edited) For the Lenormand deck lovers out there… this deck is from Germany and so close to making its funding… only 3 days left and it is ready to print. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/floraneum-lenormand/floraneum-lenormand/description Edited March 14, 2023 by FindYourSovereignty
rylla Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 The Kickstarter for the Book of Shadows an Alchemist story was last summer but I noticed that there is a "buy now" link that takes you to the artist's website I believe; I just ordered it https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/berithandbrimstone/the-book-of-shadows-an-alchemists-story There was another Kickstarter for the Book of Shadows, in nature colors and unillustrated pips. This time the pips are illustrated.
Niobium Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 I received this recently as a backer and it's quite nice. I LOVE the book! I hadn't realized how high quality a job they'd be doing on the graphic novel. It's even hardbound. It's very similar to Aste's previous decks in terms of art theme but has fully illustrated minors, which is why I sprang for it. Very colorful and fun.
Rupicapra Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 There is another run for the Lilifer Tarot on Kickstarter. The art is normally not my style but I really I love the colours. Very tempted… https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/reclaimoracle/the-lilifer-tarot-gold-edition
gregory Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 (edited) @Niobium - I know we were discussing the Fortuna Tenebris, but I can't find that conversation. Has anyone got theirs yet ? (I wasn't a backer; I ordered from his store.) Edited March 28, 2023 by gregory

I don't think I'll be getting this encore though - the original is fine enough for me as it is.

Has anyone got theirs yet ? (I wasn't a backer; I ordered from his store.) I have not yet, though unless shipped pretty fast anything coming from Europe is a bit slow for me atm. Looks like he received the decks and books 3-4 weeks ago so is in the process of shipping now. I don't know if he's prioritizing KS over pre-purchase (many KS projects do) in terms of when, or if it's domestic then abroad (which they also do). In that case, I imagine you'll get yours before I do. Speaking of! A few new decks on the KS landscape: An Avatar: the Last Airbender RWS clone, I am liking the style of this one but am always leery of backing undrawn decks. Going to have to think it over. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/neuergeist/master-of-the-elements-tarot-deck A new edition of the Lilifer Tarot, which I have been on the fence about and continue to be, but some here might be interested: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/reclaimoracle/the-lilifer-tarot-gold-edition Taylor Hultquist-Todd's latest deck, the Earth Tarot (she's done several other decks previously: Faeles Arcanae, Canes Arcanae, Myths and Legends Tarot, Oceanum Arcanae) https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thedogtarot/terra-arcanae-the-earth-tarot
gregory Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 Thanks. I wasn't a backer, as you know. I can but hope ! I've run wit the Lilifer and the Earth - but not the Airbender one.
