More Kickstarter decks for your thoughts

There was an update from the Kickstarter for the Minchiate Tarot a few days ago, by Amparo Aguirre, the artist. We would have all got an email on it, those who backed it 😞 

 

There was 10 days to go at that point and less than 50% funded. She talks about her plans with it. Maybe there will be a miracle but if not, she realised she offered too many option perks and was too ambitious, with the goal too high. There was 3 books in 3 different languages and 3 different decks and bags and all sorts of extras. It divided people pledging and meant the outcome goal was a high cost.

 

If this Kickstarter fails, she will run a new campaign which will be much more simpler. She will focus on the hand-painted watercolour and golden details Minchiate Tarot. So she asks if this ends, to please support her new campaign 🙂

I'd LOVE to see a simpler campaign. I just wanted - the simplest one. Am I, also, the only person who doesn't WANT all the extras - badges, prints, postcards. OK to changes like adding gold foil edges  (though I would personally rather not) and nice boxes, but I have a huge box of KS extras I could live without !

I don't think it's just her either, it's a trend! The artist or crowd funder starter wants to give loads, for a higher price, to get more pledges. But it then seems to really up the total cost of the final funding.

Also I really think you can only do it for one deck or one book at a time, it just divides the pledges too much. Keeping it simple always works best and just get interest from the net.

Anyway I am sure the next one will be funded 🙂

I know - EVERYONE does it. All these weird coins, badges, stickers.... I wish there were a sort of main KS board where we could say these things.

I have a basket of pins, stickers, and postcards. I do like when they improve or enhance the deck, upgrade the box, and/or guidebook, but the side items often become clutter.

There are Superbackers and others that get invited to serve as campaign advisors. I don’t know how to describe it exactly, but they participate in some way to assist in making campaigns better. It seems, but I certainly don’t know, it may need to come from them as a recommendation for suggestions when creating a campaign. It would be interesting to see how many people actually love those kind of extras over product upgrades. I cannot find anywhere to email with suggestions. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am a superbacker. Doesn't seem to have got me anywhere like that - it just shows I have backed a very lot.... I'll see if there's an option to get into that.

The Minchiate Tarot decks by Amparo Aguirre sadly didn't get funded but did make it beyond 50% funding. The deadline was today and so no money will be taken for it.

Amparo sounds a bit gutted about it in her latest update....

One of my favourite KS Tarot decks, The Seaglass Tarot by Baily Noles took three attempts to actually succeed, and I'm thankful it did.  The creator was persistent and it eventually paid off.  There is hope for this creator too.

This one looks really pretty! It's from the same creator as the Self Love tarot and seems to be an oracle and tarot in one, based on different goddesses and female figures from mythology - looks like it would go amazing with the Lilifer Tarot, too?

I have an 18 quart storage bin of such items that are useless to me! And that includes reading cloths, as I generally don't use them! I wish there were some way we could opt out of those items and save some 💰💰💰!

I finally went back through the above-mentioned storage bin and identified and labelled what I could of the items which I'm pretty sure I will never use! (Prints and postcards can at least be added to a tarot collage and framed as art.) I was able to identify everything except a feather and two other items that I don't remember at this exact moment.

I had a look how someone can give feedback to Kickstarter but they have made sure no one can do that easily!

But it does occur to me (to my considerable irritation) that it would be much harder work for creators to leave this stuff out of their packaging for some of us but not all.
