I'm just starting out my youtube channel, but I have a clear vision of what type of reading I'm trying to do. 

 

still on my way to it but it's really important for me that:

- messages that i tell are exactly how i see it in the cards. (no "he still loves you, want you, if its not the case)

- themes of readings are ONLY ones that can give you relevant insights and help a reflexion in you growing.

For instance, i would rather something like "What obstacles do i need to overcome in order to X" rather than "Who i will marry"

I watched one of your videos, I liked the "why can't I find love reading".

I picked number one and it really resonated with me.

As I have indeed closed off my heart and refuse to even consider attaching my heart to anyone anymore.

 

In general I think your style is good, the only advice I have on the top of my head,

is maybe not having decks you plan to use in the box, so you have to open the box during the take.

It just makes things look a bit more prepared and ready I guess.

I take notes for the box. I have one question though: do you prefer that cards are shuffled during the reading (in my case, i prefer this when i watch tarot readings), or the cards are already in pile and no shuffling in live ?

Shuffling them in the video is fine for me, makes it feel more interactive I guess.

I went to watch one (the future self). Very good. I don't know what kind of adjustments you need to make. I thought it was great. And as to how you shuffle, no need to the same thing every time. You can vary. You'll get bored if you do the same thing over and over.

 

Great and very intelligent interpretations, nice speaking voice, pretty decks. I think it was delightful ! And intelligent like I said. I've seen such nonsense on youtube (far too often) so it's nice to see someone who has a functioning Tarot brain and common sense.

Well, I played along with you and I chose one of the cards in the three piles. It was a bit spooky.... 👻 If I'd chosen one of the other two, it certainly wouldn't have corresponded. The strong advice I received, I'd already integrated a long time ago so didn't need it, but if I hadn't (like if I was younger and unwiser) it would have been a good warning to take to heart. 

 

I only heard recently that there is such a thing as group readings on youtube. Or even group reaadings fullstop. When I heard about this I scoffed and even did worse than scoff. I kind of accused people who did this for being scammers and frauds. So I chose the card in the pile with a very sceptical mind, even ready to come over here and rant about group readings. 

 

Now I'm puzzled like hell. And I started playing with the Tarot about twenty years ago,

 

The French touch in your videos is lovely !! You speak such good English with a lovely French accent. Not all heavy and exaggerated like Macron, but soft and gentle like a holysticvagabond. I am thinking you can't have just learned English at school view your accent and pronunciation.

I did play along and went for the future self spread. I already knew the message from some years ago - unfortunately for me!, so other than reminding me of it,  it shows that your readings are accurate, too.

 

Other than that, I think you're the interesting selling point. Not the cards or box or anything else.

That is really cool that you played along even though you were skeptical at first. I think that people should try at least once or twice to get an idea/opinion of group readings.

 

But don't get me wrong, I do think also there are many dishonest people out there, as well as drawbacks of having a group reading. In my case, I watch something like 4 to 5 specific tarot readers on youtube. I came across other readers who just sugarcoat people (hence my post title) and only say things that people want to hear but don't help them heal or move on. 

 

If I put this category of readings aside, watching readings on youtube can be amazing. I really do think that if there is a message that you need to hear, somehow you'll be meant to find the video. It works for me couple of times, and really helped me. But you also need to be honest with yourself and not watching EVERY videos until you find the message that you want. 

 

It will never be as precise and accurate as personal reading, but it gives insight in an other way very efficiently. 

 

...And about my english, I spent almost two years in Washington DC, it helped me a lot! Happily, because I don'l like the heavy accent of Macron as well 😂🙈

You are a brave and beautiful reader.  I watched the "message from my future self" one, and I also picked the crystal pile.  Now I don't want to go so far as to say that the message didn't resonate, but I sort of had to tweak the meaning and modify it to get it to apply.  For example, I haven't had people around me at all really lately, I've been hiding from everyone even the internet.  However I could look at it like it's BECAUSE I don't want to disappoint anyone and care too much about making everyone happy, and just because I don't SEE the people I have in my life doesn't mean they aren't thinking of me or... in my energy circle if that makes sense lol  You also said to not let anyone control me, once again no one is doing that consciously, and yet, if I'm paralyzed from social interactions because I'm worried about what people think, in a way, people are controlling me.  

 

Do you see what I mean?  It's like... in a round about way I can MAKE the message apply to me, but it wasn't like "Oh man!  That's my situation!"  etc.   But, general readings will never apply to everyone, even some of my favorite readers on youtube don't hit the nail on the head for me every time.  But I think you should feel confident in what you're doing, and be encouraged, because you've got a lot going for you.  You speak well, you have a great setup, and I think it's awesome you showed your face.  Many Tarot readers are only comfortable showing their hands, I always prefer to look at the person doing my reading so I think it's cool you let us see you.  

 

I have a few suggestions, these are simple things that will just be helpful for the audience.  I found myself not even knowing which pile was which at first, because I didn't see the text on the left hand side telling me, and you jumped into the reading before I had decided.  I would just take a few seconds to say "This is pile one, it's represented by the amythyst, here is pile two it's represented by crystal, here is pile 3..."  Then just say "now look at each pile and decide which one you feel drawn to" and just let there be silence for like... I dunno... 7 to 10 seconds.  Then just say "Ok if you haven't picked your pile yet you can pause the video, but I am moving on to the first reading"  It would just... make it more clear and give the audience more time to decide etc.  

 

And the last thing is just that the volume was low.  I was watching on my laptop speakers but I could barely understand you, I don't normally have any trouble understanding youtubers even when it's just my laptop speakers.  And it's not because you talk quietly, the volume/tone of your voice is great.  It's literally just that the volume needs to be turned up in your editor.  I don't know what you use to edit but in most editors there should be a volume bar somewhere that looks something like the left side of this pic. 

All you would want do is push it up until you start to see it get into the red, and then pull it back until there is no red.  Then your volume should be at standard youtube levels.  

 

And that's all I got!  Other than that you are on your way my friend!  Great job!

First of all, thank you for taking the time to watch and give me a detailed feedback. I appreciate it a lot !

 

I see exactly what you mean. I watch a lot of general readings and sometimes I have to do this tweak. Sometimes also the whole message don't resonate and only some parts, and I'm just taking whatever resonates.

 

For my videos, I think I need to give different possibilities to the general energies that I feel in the cards. For example, if from one card I feel some "solitude", maybe I should say: you're alone, isolated OR you feel alone mentally. Instead of just focusing on one option. Because at the end, it's a general reading and we're not experiencing things the same way even though we can feel the same overall feeling. (I don't know if I'm clear)

 

About showing my face, it was for me so important to do it. Because first, I'm like you and I prefer to see the face of other readers. And in my eyes, It's also a way to prove to people I'm not a fraud, or something like that. 

 

- I take note for the piles. (for the little story, I didn't say the names of the rocks because it was so hard for me to pronounce it in english 😂😭)

- I take note also for the sound. I love editing (I use Premiere Pro) but my weakness is definitely sound.

 

Btw, just curiosity as you said you had your favorite readers on YT, which ones are they?

No prob @theholysticvagabond!  I can already tell you are a wonderful addition to the forum, I've enjoyed all your contributions to the discussions for sure 🙂 As far as my favorite youtube Tarot Readers,  I say favorite, but it's more like "The ones I keep watching", I've never actually found a youtube reader that I felt was truly always connecting with me.  But some of them are just pleasant to listen to and give nice advice, and I find that every once in a while the readings really DO seem perfectly fitting to what I'm going through, especially if something significant is going on.  

 

Behatilife is a channel run by a girl named Jess, she is the bubbliest smiliest witch I've ever seen lol  She does a lot more than just Tarot readings, she teaches about candle magic and setting intentions and all kinds of things but her Tarot readings, even when not resonant, are almost always entertaining 🙂

Aluna Ash has given me probably the most accurate readings I've had from a general on youtube, however they were more accurate about a month or two ago when I was going through something specific.  She also does energy updates and her voice is very relaxing regardless of what she's saying.

Nicholas Ashbuagh  ok I'll be honest with you, this guy kind of gives the same reading every time and it can be pretty generic, "let go of what doesn't serve you, eat well, take care of yourself, good things are coming, be patient", but I just... like the dude, and I like his room, and I dunno... Ok and lastly.... I'm nervous to tell you this next one, because this lady thinks she channels like.. all these famous rock stars and celebrities, she thinks she channels john lennon and david bowie and princess diana and even george michael and prince, and that they are her "heart squad" and just... from the outside looking in she looks nuttier than a fruit cake.  And I am not saying I believe she really does channel all these people, but somehow or another, her messages keep being some of the most helpful I've found, and there is a surprising amount of substance in some of her readings.  She doesn't do full Tarot readings, she'll use cards to help her while she channels.  Is she deluded?  I have no idea, but once again I still enjoy listening to her whether she is or isn't,

Yep!  I think there used to be more but getting Tarot readers to stay in my youtube feed is hard, it seems these days like youtube's algorythm tries hard to steer me toward commercial surface level stuff and all the really deep out there occult stuff I watch gets pushed out pretty quick.  

I do wanna mention two great Tarot resources though, these people don't give general readings, they talk ABOUT Tarot, and I can give a much more whole hearted stamp of approval that these channels have great info and real things to share.

I much more readily endorse those two channels, as the other ones are kind of just my personal taste of who I like to listen to, and I'm not personally convinced they are the most accurate readers out there.  I'm not even sure how accurate general readings for the public can even be, but a few of them really did help me when I needed it so it is what it is eh?
