I have a questions about, well, questions. I'm fairly new to tarot and I'm still getting my feet wet. I am branching off into some interesting new spreads, but I started having difficulties matching readings with specific topics. So, lately, I've done a few readings where I asked the querent to have a specific topic or questions in their mind, and to look at the reading in terms of that specific topic or question, but not tell me the topic/question. I would stop throughout the reading to remind them about their question and ask if they needed any clarification with any card in the spread as it related to that. I have found that not knowing the topi…

Natalea mentioned wanting to move past individual meanings to pull a reading together, so I thought it might be nice to have a new thread around that. Certainly using spreads can be a really good starting place, but layered over that I think is the way we think about various aspects of the card images (assuming RWS here), whether deliberately or intuitively. Sometimes - depending on the deck - I focus on the figures in the cards and imagine them having a conversation, or just looking at their expression and bodily position wonder what might be going on between them - perhaps they are in disagreement or concord? Sometimes there is a sequence, and sometimes th…

Hello again everyone, and thank you all so much for making me feel so welcome, I already feel at home 🙂 I was just wondering what peoples "go to" techniques/layouts/spreads are.. For example, If I'm going to do a reading for another person, I generally go for the Celtic cross, I think this is because I'm comfortable with this layout and I always feel a nervous pressure when I am reading for other people. However, when I'm reading for myself, I use a large variety of layouts, and techniques. I love looking a new spreads and learning new techniques, so some new ideas would be great 🙂 Thanks all

Does anyone have any idea of the representation of what the Pyramids of Giza are in these two cards? The Pictoral Key... just mentions them for the Knight how he's passing the "mounds or pyramids". They are obviously pyramids, aligned exactly the way they are in Egypt. They stand on opposite sides of them, or the knight is on his horse. I know there is the Egyptian connection to tarot. These aren't talked about at all anywhere and there's got to be a reason for them. If anyone has any opinion or even a book to enlighten me with it would be appreciated.

I know we've talked many times about how to get cigarette smoke out of cards but I've got a Brady deck (rubber?plastic? cards) in a wooden box that also holds the book. There is WAY too much essential oil scent, I think evergreen. Any ideas how to get a lot of it out without covering it with something else? Scent free would be my goal, but a lot milder would do. seems like once someone used bbq charcoal, but you can't buy that here any more.

Curious what card COMBINATIONS you identify as indicators for the potential of a long term/long lasting romantic connection For me the big one I like to see is the Two of Cups with any of the following: Ace of Cups, Nine of Cups, Ten of Cups, Queen of Cups, Empress, Lovers, Sun What are your top combinations you like to see that indicate this, and why?

I did a past, present, future spread yesterday for 'my relationship with X' and the cards I pulled for past and present are, for lack of a better term, 'wrong'. Without getting into specifics, because this is intended as technique and how to approach this, my relationship with this person has not been good, and currently is not good. The cards that came up were showing a positive relationship, for past, present and future. Who knows what the future holds so I won't automatically discredit that one, but past and present definitely did not reflect the reality of how things have been and currently are. I can't see any way of these cards reflecting th…

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on cards that lend themselves to apologies. I'm well versed in cards of communication, but often struggled to determine what the communication other than "positive" or "negative" might be, and apologies tend to fall into this gray area for me. What are your top cards for indicating apologies, and why?

I would like to see the different types of card combinations that other readers will see during a reading to warn their clients of spellwork that is being used against them. Usually when I see the Moon come out paired with either: the 10 of wands, 10 of swords, 9 of swords, 8 of swords, the five of pentacles, the Devil, or the Magician reversed I'm certain that this is the case.

I'm a Holistic reader who uses a combination of different types of practices in each of my readings such as: Oracle cards, Numerology, Astrology, Crystals, Esoteric knowledge, etc.

Apologies for the rather enigmatic title but that's my question in a nutshell as I'm brand new to tarot reading. In fact, I just got my deck today. I made sure to cleanse my deck first and get acquainted with the cards, making sure to take specific note of how each card makes me feel and what they mean to me beyond the meanings of card names themselves. Then, I decided to take the deck for a test-drive by drawing a three-card spread which felt incredibly accurate. Is there anything that I missed? I'm worried that I'm doing it wrong.

My new deck arrived today! Super excited. I've had a few readings done for me over the years but I've never tried doing it myself. But the other day I felt compelled to learn, and this was the first thing that came up when I searched 'tarot deck'. I absolutely love it and feel it's meant to be. Already a card fell out when I was looking through them and when I looked up the meaning it really spoke to me 😊 One question though. The reading info that came with this deck is quite small and for a newbie like me, it doesn't tell me much to be able to do a good reading. Can I search online for more info for the cards (eg a specific card always means a specific thing …

Now when everything's cost it is going up don't you think that selling/buying PDF files of tarot deck is going to be more popular and more attractive to buyers? (I see collectors shouting: no, no, no! 🙂). For example for me is much cheaper to by PDF and have it printed where I live that buying a deck. I just bought the Crimson tarot for almost $100. The shipping cost was $65, with custom charges and other fees it ads up to almost $100. For me this is way too much! I bout the Samiramy tarot for $35 in PDF, another similar deck The Old memories Tarot is selling for $65 + shipping (I did not check it but it would not be just a few bucks! for sure). Well I guess it depe…

I just bought the Twelve House Tarot Spread book. I am impressed by it (finally I am getting a deeper understanding of the houses and reading of this layout. etc.) . I wanted to read more of E. Hazel's work (except astrology and elemental interpretation which does not interests me).I have the Whispering tarot first edition of 500; and I was frantically looking to see if there is a book for this deck. On the additional card that came with this deck is stated: " Accompanying text is available at : www. Kozmic-kitchen.com" The problem is I could not find it there. I contacted the author asking for info about this book but I did not get any answer. My question is : …

I come across tarot readers that offer readings for a mere US$1. How could they justify the time and energy they put behind the readings? What do you think of such readers?

Hello tarot lovers! Thanks for the add. 1. How do you feel about reading cards that fall, jump, fly or drop when shuffling? Do you strictly deal your cards? 2. If a card falls horizontally, how do you read it, upright or reversed? 3. Are there any good books or references you recommend for memorizing the meanings of cards (i.e., the Knights all mean youthfulness, the Aces new beginnings, etc.) 4. What are your favorite basic spreads? Or do you generally pull a card a day? 💫 Love and light to you Starwind

I have always used a simple sort of altar cloth or scarf to lay my cards and read them, but lately have been itching to get something larger and with more weight, and possibly with some card related imagery on them. Would also be great for instagram I admit! Do you have a special cloth/s on which you lay/spread your cards? Where did you get it from/How did you make it? I'd love to see pics of your spread cloths for inspiration!

So I've started the on-line course suggested, and feel very comfortable, I love learning something new. My cards come tomorrow, and I fancy the idea of a daily challenge, and reading. Did anyone else do a daily reading (one card) at the start, and take the full time suggested to learn the cards they picked? Did anyone get many repeats, and if so would you leave them out next time, or just carried on? Finally, did anyone keep a diary of the events please? Thanks all Rick. Sorry, but how do you get an avatar set up please?

So i am about a month in to a break up with someone who I thought was my forever mate. He is fearful avoidant & we broke up because of his fear of marriage and children (I want both) I drew these cards last night to ask what he thinks and feels of me currently and our potential relationship in the future. Can I get help make sense of this? IThanks for the insight cards pulled: ten of cups, strength, 4 of wands and ace of cups reversed.

Hi you guys, I use Rider Waite Tarot. I am REALLY unhappy with the current career path i have chosen (i am still in university, but internships showed me it was the wrong choice). I am looking for something new for ages now. I found a vocational training option that i believe would suit me very well. And i pulled one card. I asked if this was a good option. I pulled the three of wands reversed. I really want to know what to do. So that i can take active steps, applying etc!

I dearly home this is in the right place? Could someone explain, what the idea of all the various packs are please? Cat Tarot, crow tarot, and all the mountain of other packs. Are the symbols the same, with the same meaning, or are they just a fun thing (sorry not meaning to offend with that, just asking?) The older packs seem to have different symbols too, just wondering, looking learning. Thanks all. Rick.

What is the one card, that no matter the reading, you just have a hard time figuring out how it relates? I have a few, lol, but the biggest for me is the six of pentacles, RWS deck. Is it about gratitude? Giving and receiving? An imbalance? Ugh! interested to hear your thought. Apologies in advance if it’s in the wrong section 🙂

Just got the cards of the postman ( a new postman, now what could that mean, fresh start?) and I'm wondering what to do next? Look through them all with the book on their meaning, or just pick a few, and start with them. Or anything else people think might be important. Thanks all. Rick.

Hey, a friend of mine introduced me to tarot. I always liked occultism and gave a try and I liked it. She used to draw me her cards, but sometimes we spend a time without talking. Since that, sometimes I draw them from some random online websites. Can I take them as a real draw? I don't know how to interpret them at all so I just get some hints from what each card means. Oddly enough I am going through something rn and the drawing matched my present perfectly.
