Tarot Decks

I found this drawing of Pythagorus and fell in love with how much it looks like he could be the Magician - even has the 'as above so below' symbolism. I would LOVE a deck like this. Are there any Hellenic decks that you recommend? The only ones I've seen are the Mythic and some that either have images that don't seem to relate to the card (and no explanation in the white book as to why it was used) and others that mix Roman in with Greek. I'm so tempted by the Mythic, but the High Priestess looks disinterested and jaded 😬

Hi. I had a reading recently and I was wondering if anyone would be able to help identify the deck. The cards had the zodiac signs hidden in the images. The wands all had stones on the ends. The wands cards were all orange themed. The swords were all dark blue themed and the king, queen and page all wore heavy armour. The magician card had a man with an hopes hand performing magic. The queen of swords, she was standing side on, had a sword raised, a Libra sign on her arm and a Scorpio above.

I know i'm personally so glad they made a Buffy one and Hocus Pocus. Greetings everyone. So I am a fan of RW clone decks since I find that I connect most to the symbolism of the original deck yet not wanting to use the traditional deck. I have been working with the Radiant version and with the Robin Wood deck ( which was my favorite so far). So recently I have purchased the Llewellyn's Classic Tarot deck. I got it a few days ago and while I DO like it, I have some mixed feelings about it. I love the overall art and the fact that the settings are much more realistic. Most Major arcana cards I absolutely LOVE- especially the strength and judgment cards ( I will add one of them just to show those who haven't seen the deck) …

Does anybody have the Tarot of Lucifer by Bombushkar and Balaban? I seem to have a hankering for demonic Russian decks. HERE is their book and deck set. Having 105 cards, I wonder if it is a traditional Tarot deck with additional cards, just like the Didactic.

These aren't RWS images, it is gems and flora beautifully rendered in watercolor style. But the book (one page full color image, opposite page explanation of gem, flower, and then drawing this into tarot deck commonalities is well thought out. Every single card has a gem and botanical which blew me away...two for the price of one 🙂 The cards fan and shuffle easily and the edges are gold. The box is sturdy, lift off top, book size with a well for the cards. The majors and each suit have one extra card. Hello there from Greece, I am a new one in the forum and tarot. Today, I bought my first deck which is swiss 1JJ deck. It's so beautifull !!! I find it more beautifull than Rider-Waite's tarot deck. It would be a pleasure to share your experiences with this deck and also your opinion. Love and light.

I recently bought a Lo Scarabeo deck, and this advertising card was included. However, I have no idea what deck this Fool image came from ...and I quite like it. Anybody got a clue? There was no reference to it on the advertising card itself.

How important is the colours in a deck for you while you are doing a reading? For example: The Magician will have a black robe or the Empress will have a purple dress. Will you even notice that? Most of the times the colour is saying something in the interpretation of the cards. So if the deck is black and white, much of the feelings will be very lame for me.

The Brady Tarot is now shipping the kickstarter backers. After that the deck will be available for sale. It's unusual, each card is from an original woodblock, all animals, vivid colors and the book is written by Rachel Pollock.

This may be old news for some, but I'm posting it just in case. I looked through this forum to see if I could find a topic like this but didn't see one. I just thought it might be fun to share what decks we're reaching for lately. What do you keep returning to and why? What deck is drawing your attention right now? Do you think there's a reason? I've been drawn to the This Might Hurt tarot pretty steadily since I received it (last fall) and that's still true now. But I could see how recent events might cause people to reach for something new or familiar or just change things up! Hey there squad! I recently acquired the Fountain Tarot deck, and I love it! However there are a couple of cards that I 'm struggling to connect with. The King of wands and the 6 of wands and all their juicy insight is eluding me... I understand the meaning/ interpretation behind them in the RWS deck and my other deck, but this deck has a different... character. Anyone with insight please help a girl out! Urban fantasy is not my usual aesthetic, but I've found myself craving it lately and unable to find decks that suit. I already have Lisa Sterle's Modern Witch deck, and the This Might Hurt tarot - both of which feel like they should be more urban fantasy-ish than they are. (At least to me, right now in this odd mood of mine.) I love the Neon Moon tarot, but it has a more sci-fi than fantasy vibe. Lo Scarabeo's Teen Witch tarot is pretty much what I'm going for, I think. Also the Numinous Tarot, which I absolutely adore! Basically, looking for decks which have modern-looking people, but are also magical or witchy - does anyone have any recommendations?

I've been pondering this idea for a while. I'm not at a loss for tarot decks but there are always those that I wish I'd been able to purchase when they first came out or those that others have acquired recently that I find intriguing but have been unable to afford because of current circumstances and that will likely be unavailable by the time the wheel, once again, turns in my favor. It's supposed to ship September 15. Like the other recent Rider Waite editions that have been popping up on Etsy, Amazon and eBay, this one claims to be a reproduction of one of the very first editions. I'll wait and see.

This is a hypothetical question, for me, since I have no children and no access to any that I might teach tarot to, but talking to FreyjaVanir[/member] about the Crystal Unicorns deck made me wonder. There's plenty of decks I might be careful to keep away from a young child - Finland (where I am) doesn't really have a taboo against non-sexualised nudity, so that wouldn't be enough to make me put a deck on a high shelf, but there are some fairly dark or sexual decks out there that I think we can agree we wouldn't let a nine-year-old play with! - but I can't think of many that are not just child-friendly, but also easily readable.
