Hi everyone! Does anyone here owns/uses/had used The Dreams of Gaia Tarot by Ravynne Phelan? What is your opinion on it? I really love Phelan’s art, and recently I came across this deck. I find the art gorgeous, but for some reason I’m not really feeling it when trying to use it for readings. I don’t wanna give up on it just yet so I figured other people’s views and experiences might help me envision different aspects of this deck. Thank you~

Should there be others who, like me, wait impatiently for YEARS to see a re-print of Lisa Hunt's Fairy Tale Tarot..... in whatever language... well, here is some information. I have had my beady eye on the website of the Arun Publishing House for some years, and they keep saying: soon available again! I even wrote to them some two years ago and they answered very nicely, yes, they'll publish a new edition of this popular deck. German would be great for me (native language), but even for English-only speakers, German is easy to understand since it's quite similar to English. And the pictures speak for themselves. When I last checked it, there was …

I shuffled this tarot spread with, Moon, Justice and Wheel of Fortune with the question of someone's feelings towards me. The magician was also pulled 20 minutes prior but I reset the reading. So how does "S" feel towards "M" (me)? Thank you

Greetings. I am pretty captivated by this deck's images, based on what I can find online. Do any of you own it? Living in North America, it is quite expensive on Amazon. Both via the European site as well as American. I'm wondering if you enjoy it and if the pack has any strengths / weaknesses you can share.

Note: This thread applies ONLY to authentic decks ... "cheap" meaning mass market or sale prices from reputable vendors. It does NOT include counterfeits [which is a different topic] So I am getting a LOT of use from my $20 Devine Deco deck. It has crappy card stock and a crap box ... but I LOVE the deck. I have 2 copies of RWS Centennial Edition in a tin which I use all the time. I bought 10 of them on super sale when they were $11 each and gave all away as gifts except for the last 2 which I kept and use frequently. I have a similar mini RWS indie deck which was $40. The indie deck is borderless which I like but honestly they read about the same $1…

I wanted to write a review of this deck before January is over, it's the Happy New Year Tarot. These cards used turn of the century New Years Day postcards. I bought the deck off Esty's and it was from an independent vendor. The cards come with a felt green tarot bag (no box). It does not include a manual. If you buy the deck the author sends you a link for an e-book that can apply to any Tarot Deck, it's not specific to why they chose what images to represent certain cards. Some seem to have a correlation, others not at all. Krampus as the Devil seems appropriate--but I'm at sea as to most of the relationship to RWS meanings Each card has a name of a tarot card o…

I've had an idea for a long time to make a deck based on all the different industries I've worked in, but I don't work with representational art much and that sounds like years of work

I think we've all likely been there. Gotten a deck that caught our aesthetic eye only to not be a "reader" for us. Disappointing! I've had more decks I've moved along than kept. The decks that are the "warmest" and best readers for me are the ones I go back to. JUST a couple on a long list....and BEAUTIFUL decks, Tarot of Prague. Just wasn't a reader for me. And I find a lot of what I think of as collage decks, aren't. Mystic Dreamer, thought was "pretty". Then I realized photographic decks not really readers for me (I thought it was made up of paintings/drawings until I got it). So if these are two of your fav decks,…

When I first started, I looked at a bunch of decks online and decided on Mystic Dreamer, which I thought, looking at small pix, were drawings. Pretty deck, but so not a reader for me. Slowly, but surely, I realized which were readers for me and which weren't. PCS, for newbies, Pamela Colman Smith, is my go to. I have about three or four variations of it. Love Reall's/Irena's vintage deck and cardstock as well as the PCS Commemorative and one without borders. Bohemian Gothic is a great love as well. I have limited decks and am even moving along some of them, just because they should be read with and I tend to lean towards my favs. But wo…

I recently saw posts having to do with demonic decks and vampire decks ... not surprising for the time of year ... and realized I have an aversion to darkly themed decks, especially demons, vampires, and over-use of skeleton imagery. But as some of you know ... I absolutely loathe "sweetness and light" decks. Possibly even worse than my aversion to dark decks! The aversions come from different places. As far as demons and vampires ... let's just say I've had enough of that sort of thing in real life. I've been harmed physically and mentally [and seen other people harmed] from contact with these sorts of beings. I'm quite rational ... yet I've …

I would love to know about what decks you all have come across that offer inclusive and innovative context for BIPOCLGBTQ+ folks! For me, I knew about The Queer Tarot and fell in love with their artwork of queer bodies. Which inspired me to create my own as well!

Definitions: Scenic Pips like Sola Busca or RWS feature a full illustration on each Pip [number] card. Non-scenic decks [often called Pip decks] are generally Tarocchi or TdM. The number cards have only suit + number with maybe a simple decoration. I cut my teeth on RWS ... and for years I only read scenic pips. RWS style. In the past few years that changed. My tarots collection is balanced between scenic and non scenic. I can't say I have a solid preference. It's situational. For most clients I prefer the scenic pips so the client can "see" the meaning. For myself? For some clients and some questions? I might prefer non scenics…

Hi, I am making a study of tarot cards preparatory to becoming a reader. I'm interested in the Wirth pack as a bridge between the Marseilles and Waites pack but am rather confused by the number of different Wirth packs there arte! I want the earliest pack that is most true to Wirth's original conception - any help identifying the best pack for me would be most welcome and gratefully received.

I cannot find the guide book for this deck anywhere and have bought the deck. The link provided takes me to Wonderland Tarot which is not the same. Can anyone assist, please?

As I've collected decks I find the ones that have changed the symbolism significantly are can be challenging. They require more mental processing. If they are in RWS family but diverge from what the cards usual definitions are it can sometimes be daunting. I like to be able to pick up a deck and read it without too much translation. Sometimes they change the card suits into other symbols that don't translate immediately to what suit they are supposed to be. Like the Yuletide Tarot changed the suits into Good Cheer, Candy Canes, Candles, and Presents. It's not immediate apparent as to how what objects correlate with Cups, Swords, Wands, and Pentacles. I li…

Almost all the decks that I'm buying have some cards that I don't like (I suspect everyone feels the same way). For example the Maat. Most of the cards are gorgeous. I love those cards and I really hate a few others (so I have very strong emotion about this deck). I can't stand the Devil and about 3-4 more cards. So I am not using the deck for reading. It's a pity, the rest of the deck is great. What is your experience with decks that have cards you don't like? Can you just overlook/disregard them? Are you still using them for reading?

So I haven’t been able to find a good list of why people like one deck (of the core decks like Thoth vs RW) over another. Is it largely just preference? What do you like/dislike about the different decks?

I have the 2019. I was wondering of those of you who have the 2004 and 2019 pocket, any difference in cardstock type?

I'm on the hunt for decks with a sense of humour, be it in the guidebook or in the cards themselves. Are there any decks that you thought would be serious but surprised you? Any that straight out the gate made you giggle?

An early Christmas present to myself. I've wanted the Dali Set since I started collecting. I could never afford it until now. Amazon had a deep discounts on it. It's a very large box, made it of wood with a felt covering. The book that covers covers it is very comprehensive. The cards come in a golden box. The cards are gorgeous, created by Salvador Dali and his wife, and they appear in some of the cards. Many based on famous works of art. I funny story. Daily read commissioned to create a Tarot Deck for the Bond movie Live and Let Die. The studio didn't like what he was doing so he was fired from the project. What we call, The Tarot of the Witch…

I found this deck here in the deck library and fell in love, so straight into my Amazon cart it went. However, I can't find any posts here about it, and very few reviews in general. The one by Benebell Wen waxes rhapsodic about the art but very delicately insinuates that it is not a deck to read with. I find interesting the way some of the cards play with the RWS imagery --for example, the Ten of Pentacles makes the old man the center of attention, while the happy family is far, faraway in the background, and the Four of Wands makes me think of the Tower right before lightning strikes, or after things are put back together, if you prefer. Other car…

At long last, Thiago Corrêa's cat tarot deck is being published! I've been following Thiago Corrêa for a long time, their art is so fun and interesting. Deck can be pre-ordered from various places, published by Abrams books. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/cats-rule-the-earth-tarot-catherine-davidson/1140972886?ean=9781419766060 \o/
