For me, one of the more intriguing Smith-Waite Tarot cards is the High Priestess. Mainly because the card’s iconography is rather a hot mess of Egyptian, Graeco-Roman, and Jewish influences. The depicted female seated figure is popularly thought to be based on the Egyptian goddess Isis. She has two dominant symbols, namely a Greek (i.e., equal-armed) cross on her chest and moon representation (waxing/waning/full) atop her head. I'm really interested in the symbolism in tarot and my readings come from the symbols in the cards. For my reference library, I wanted some great books about the symbolism in RWS, to refer to if I ever need to research symbols. I have always loved tarot cards and having my tarot read, but never practised it myself until recently and wow, I have not been disappointed. My readings have been so incredibly accurate and I am enjoying every minute of it. I am creating a guidebook for myself with meanings and keywords. Another thing I would like to learn is letters that may appear in the shapes on each card. The psychic I see as well as a workmate practising tarot can both easily see letters in each of the cards. Okay, the Pictorial Key To The Tarot seems to wedge 0 - (the fool), between XX(last judgement) and XXI(The World). Wedging the Fool in that place seems... I don't know... it's not arbitrary, I mean the idea that the fool is caught between Judgement and The World seems quite poetic on some level, but it just feels 'forced'. Does anyone have any thoughts why he did this?

Hi everyone, I almost never buy decks - in 40 or so years of reading tarot, I've managed to accumulate six decks in total. For years I read just the Sacred Rose, had a brief foray into the Thoth, but returned to the Rose; and then, three years ago, I bought and fell in love with the Radiant Wise Spirit, which I've been reading ever since. It's a wonderfully vibrant, well-made, sturdy, borderless deck that conveys with very high faithfulness Pamela's original drawings. I saw the Radiant Wise on Amazon, the one published by Llewellyn. But one of the reviews there said to get the Lo Scarabeo published one rather than the Llewellyn and gave an ISBN number. I found it on Amazon, not easily, and it said it was 18 and change, quite a bit less than the Llewellyn published one. An hour later, I looked at it in my orders and the price had gone up to over $40! In an hour. So glad I picked it up the Lo Scarabeo for so much less, timing is everything on Amazon, Anyway, I was wondering for those who have both decks, do you prefer one printing over the other? I'm getting it tomorrow, but I won't have the Llewellyn to compare to, so.…

Hey. I am unexperienced tarot reader for now, and last rime I was doing a tarot reading for myself. So to give a little of a context, I have a crush and he gave me signals that he liked me, but we did not had a lot of opportunities to meet often. Now I dont see him at all and I tried manifesting him, sadly, unsuccsesfully (yet😉). I asked my tarot cards why my manifestations are not coming true and the answer was queen of wands. I dont understand how to interprent it. Can someone explain it to me?

I have an RWS checklist. Is that silly? - No copyright - Liveable colors - Shuffles well - Doesn't sanitize the details - Not a computer typeface - Pixie's sig present I can only think of one currently-available (non-vintage) deck that checks each box: The Original Tarot by Da Brigh. The Centinneal gets a lot of love, but I find the colors too dark, and it has a copyright. I am currently rocking the Premium Tarot von A.E. Waite from AGM... but it doesn't check box 5: Typeface.

I got my first RWS Deck back in 1996 and while I still have the cards (wrapped in dark silk and kept in a wooden box), I have lost the original box and LWB. I have the miniature version included in the Universal Waite miniature deck in a tin and was wondering if it is the same. I've got a copy of 'The Key to the Tarot' by Waite with a forward by Liz Greene and can see the texts are derived from the same source. Are the original versions likely to be online to be online somewhere? The reason I want it is to do a video recap of my introduction to the cards.

Hello everyone, I've been contemplating on doing this for some time now but I did a spread on the love spell Im intending to do later today. I got the Ace of Cups as a lone card with the Hermit as the shadow card. I shuffled again and got the Tower, Ace of Pentacles and Three of Wands. The 10 of Swords is the shadow card this time. Will the love spell work then quickly crash?
