I literally saw a post on here about it ... looked at it... gasped audibly... thought for about 10 minutes.... looked up the page to order it ... paused for about 10 seconds.... and bought the thing. lol. No willpower! Good for you for waiting because I know I shouldn’t have just been like oh heck, it’s fine... oh well. So funny! When I was single I had the exact same mindset. But now that I've been married for a decade, I find that's it's easier to pre-plan gifting things. Way back when, I would have jumped the gun too and bought this deck outright, absolutely no question! But now, I know that my beloved one needs to be fulfilled in the act of providing, so we make shared wish lists. It's easy and the guessing is eliminated. What a relief and it makes life so much easier for sure and my beloved has the satisfaction of being able to deliver my desires. How can you go wrong with that?!

That’s really awesome. Made me smile big for you! That will be great when you get it 🙂 I’m a single mom with a little one in elementary school 🙂 - so not there yet! But that’s a great idea I will remember!
Katie Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 (edited) I (am by the way married) loudly declared to my family that THAT (Dark Mansion that is) DECK am I not going to buy until my birthday in November! Then during 48 hours I couldn't think of anything but the pictures in the deck. So two days later I just declared "Sorry but I can't live without it!". Husband: "Now you go and order it!!". Me: "Ok" 😁 Edited July 29, 2019 by Katie
OrangeLove Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 When I first looked into to the Tarot, I quickly came across Labyrinthos Academy and their Golden Thread Tarot deck. I love how it looks- simplistic, yet stylistic, a modern design that I find really aesthetically pleasing. Unfortunately, at nearly 50 bucks, I put off buying it for a while. ...So it'll be in the mail in a week or so, I think.
katrinka Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 I'm waiting on this one: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1468389582/tarot-card-deck-based-on-vintage-american-theater-posters I love that style of art. Not sure how well the images will express the card meanings, and those title banners could be a bit less obtrusive. But hey, it was $28 with shipping, so I really can't go wrong. I left the guy a comment that the Strength card reminds me of Nat Pendleton's Sandow in The Great Ziegfeld (1936). And he replied that the card image is from an "1894 poster for the Sandow Trocadero Vaudevilles, produced by F. Ziegfeld Jr. in one of his first productions" So the card image actually IS Eugen Sandow. It will be fun trying to identify the people in the deck - I hope there's more Ziegfeld, quite a few of the Follies went on to become famous actresses. And Houdini was around then. And if some of these posters are from Vaudeville, I might see the Barrymores, or Tod Browning, or...??? So this is going to be a blast. It should ship in a couple of weeks. On tenterhooks until then, lol.

I actually got lucky because I entered a Reddit gifts exchange a few years ago, and my awesome reddit gift santa bought me the Golden Thread deck! It was far and away the coolest fanciest deck I had at the time, and actually looking back, it may have been the subtle trigger that sent me down the path to collecting so many more tarot decks. I had always casually bought decks over the decade since i started reading tarot, but after I got that deck and saw how much fun it was to read with, and how much people liked it when I read with that deck, I feel like I started to get way more interested in finding really cool or unusual or unique decks. Who knew!
Scarlet Woodland Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 The 2nd edition Mary-El Tarot should be with me tomorrow! I was lucky enough to be on a tarot break when the initial palaver was all happening, so have only been waiting for the 2nd edition since about June. Please let the cardstock be nice, please let the cardstock be nice....
Halcyon Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 My Vitruvian SKT just arrived yesterday and aside from a few wonky printing issues (the titles on the bottom are not all positioned the same), i love it. I have done two readings which have both been spot on, and I am getting the Lulu-printed guide book in a couple of weeks.

Scarlet Woodland Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 (edited) 15 hours ago, Halcyon said: please let us know. I've been eyeing this one. I'm a little bit confused to be honest. Having watched vids of people unboxing the recalled 2nd edition... er... what's changed? it still had that stupid cardboard insert and broken paper slip holding the cards together which in mine, left the deck half dangling from the fool card which had slipped over the top of the insert. I can't see any difference in the cards myself so um, what did they actually do? People who had the original second edition should be able to chime in soon when they get theirs. That bafflement aside I'm pleased enough. The cardstock is fine and riffles well. I do find the edges quite sharp though. It feels like the cards were cut out on some kind of press from front to back and needed a bit of a sand afterwards as the back edges all protrude slightly and feel scratchy if you overhand shuffle. Hopefully a bit of wear from use will smooth that down. The black edging is lovely and very well done, only the slightest little spot of white left, which I'll touch up at some point. As I think other people mentioned when they got the first run of the second edition, the colour saturation is a touch lower in the second edition than the first, but I'll happily sacrifice that to get rid of the glossy coasters the first edition was printed on. The new card designs melt into the deck seamlessly, so while I'm glad to have the 1st edition for those original cards, I have no problem at all with the changed ones. Kind of a mixed first impressions but I am very pleased to have bought it. If the 1st ed. Mary-El is one of your favourites or if you were always put off by one of the cards that's now changed, then this is absolutely worth buying. Otherwise? If you have the 1st edition then jury's out. I just hope Marie is happier with this edition. She's been disappointed enough by Schiffer at this point. Edited August 2, 2019 by Scarlet Woodland

Raggydoll Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 I’m waiting on three preorders: spirit keepers, the lightseers tarot and the Bonestone & earthflesh tarot. But I’m prepared to wait quite a bit longer for most of them (especially Bonestone).
Saturn Celeste Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 I did get a couple decks lately. The Jungian Tarot and the Archeon Tarot. I plan on trying the Archeon with my past life readings. I think it will work well.

I purchased a few decks from my wishlist on little red tarot too because I didn’t want to pay extra when brexit hits. It sucks but I will probably mostly buy decks within eu from now on.

I have to stick to mass produced Amazon for awhile. But there aren't too many more decks I want. If only I'd stop adding to Save for Later list!
