@Mi-Shell - so sorry that happened.  Are the cards ok then?

 

@ilweran - the ZIllich deck is beautiful!  Just wish it didn’t have the key words.  Is that why you’ll be trimming them?

The probable trimming is all down to Raggydoll. The White Sage and the Zillich caught my eye a while ago art-wise but I was a bit meh about them as tarot decks. Then I saw Raggydoll's trimmed White Sage and realised that for me it looked like it would work better as an oracle. Same with the Zillich, plus I can take out the cards that don't work for me (Hierophant in this case).

Going to collect my Neon Moon tarot from the Post Office tonight. Also impatiently awaiting the Druid Plant oracle and the Animal Totem and Jungian tarot decks. 

@King of Swords Those decks you've ordered would I love to see in the un-boxing thread! I have been waiting 10 days for Dark Mansion Tarot now. I am sort of giving up on it soon......

My Dark Mansion took over two weeks to arrive, maybe longer. Long enough that I was surprised when it showed up in my mailbox. But it was totally worth it!

I’ve tried to find the unboxing thread but to no avail - not sure it exists any more. 

 

My initial impression is that I’m disappointed with Neon Moon overall ; the cardstock is pretty thin which I really don’t like, and one card is a bit misprinted on the back so it’s obvious which one it is. I’ve emailed the creator to see if I can get a replacement card. I was expecting the colours and artwork to ‘pop’ more than they do, too. I guess for what I paid it feels a bit cheap. Will see how my impressions change as I work with the deck, but now I’ve got it in my hands, I have no real desire to. 

 

I’ve attached pics to show the misprint - is this common with indie decks?

So I just got the first edition Etruria Minchiate (LS '96) in the mail, which was really lovely! And I finally caved and ordered the Claude Burdel Marseilles from Yves Reynaud's website so i'll be waiting for that for the next 2 weeks or so.

 

Aaaaand finally, after watching the ebay page for 2 years, i finally went all in and financed the Minotarot, which is one of my 2 unicorn decks. (The other is the Bagong Sining, which I've never even *seen* for sale anywhere, and i'm beginning to think it may not actually exist, lol.) I am SO SO EXCITED for this deck to arrive! Enough that I had to come here and tell you all 🙂

Hey, @Rupicapra, I got the 3rd edition today.

 

The artwork itself has a slightly richer and warmer color palette. But this is not very visible when looking at the cards; it is more apparent on a picture I took.

 

The border on top and bottom have changed from black to white, and the font color is opposite. This is more readable than before, I think. But why isn't this a borderless version?

 

The back of the cards is inverted between black and white and a logo(or something) is included.

 

I like this deck a lot, so for me it's nice to have several versions. But I must say that I'm a bit disappointed; very few changes. So, if you already own the previous version don't bother to pay $42 + shipping for this one.

Oooooh thank you so much @KaiNO! Interesting how different the white tops and bottoms make the cards appear, much friendlier. I have to say I think I prefer the dark one. But oh yes, borderless would be amazing!!!! Thank you for sharing 🙂

Nice to see you again @bookshop! I really enjoyed browsing your updated collection! I love the style of the Etruria Minchiate and the Minotarot sounds fascinating. I can see why you are excited. I hope you enjoy it!

 

EDIT: That Dark Mansion Tarot keeps getting mentioned and I am sure I am going to have to cave at some point!

Omg omg omg I got the Dark Mansion Tarot. Haven't opened it yet, the parcel sits beside me in the sofa hehe 😃. It took 14 days from Poland to Sweden.

I received a gift card, so I chose the Pagan Ways Tarot by Anna Franklin.  It just arrived and it looks beautiful.  Schiffer does such lovely packaging.  

*hangs head* A used copy of The Mythic Tarot Workbook is on it's way from the UK.

 

Tomorrow we've got a nice little drive to pick up a used copy of the deck/book/cloth set.

 

(For those from the de-enabling thread, it was not a fail. I did not buy the $90 CAD copy I'd been watching for weeks (months?). After agonizing for so long, and almost giving in, a $35 copy showed up. 😘 And we've been looking for an excuse to go for a drive.)

@moonglow Sounds reasonable. Congrats for finding it cheaper 😀 Have a nice trip.

I went ahead and ordered the Dark Mansion Tarot - I just couldn’t help myself - fell so hard for that one!

 

Also on the way is the Ceccoli Mini Tarot. Really love the images on that one too and like the idea of having a mini deck. Maybe for clarifying cards or to tote along with me places in my purse. 

@Astrid’s Tarot Realm Ah sounds great. I had the Ceccoli decks. Love the artwork though a bit "dark". Looking forward hearing what you think of them both.

I'm trying really hard to avert my eyes and not look at unboxings or even Google images for this deck, and I'm failing terribly! 😑 I'm trying to wait it out until the Giftmas season so I can put it on my want list but it's been like one of those itches that needs scratching!

Good luck lol! I literally saw a post on here about it ... looked at it... gasped audibly... thought for about 10 minutes.... looked up the page to order it ... paused for about 10 seconds.... and bought the thing. lol. No willpower! Good for you for waiting because I know I shouldn’t have just been like oh heck, it’s fine... oh well. 

Haha @Astrid’s Tarot Realm that is exactly the way I bought my copy of that deck, down to the audible gasping and the 10-second pause haha
