Sign me up! I’m going to be using two very different decks — the Wormweird that I was planning to use last week before my hurricane surprise trip, and the Happy Halloween.

Welcome back, @Agnes! Glad to see you're safe 🙂

Is it a new week already!? Time really flies.

I will be continuing with my Sugar Skulls tarot deck. ❤️

I think I'm going to try reading with the XIII Tarot by Nekro this week. I've never tried reading with it because it's intimidating.

I'm going to join in again. I will be using the Arcanum deck with artwork by Renata Lechner. A very beautiful deck indeed.

@Agnes I'm glad to see you back. I hope everything is okay after the hurricane.

Here is today's reading. I may do a deck interview later. I might not though. Kinda leaving things open today.

Thank you. For us it is. People just down the coast have a long road ahead of them though.

I'm in this coming week with the Badger’s Forest Tarot paired with the Gemstone Oracle. Hope all of you DoWers have a nice, relaxed weekend!

It will be interesting to see how working with two completely different decks goes for me. I wonder if it will make it harder for me to connect with either of the decks.

Here's my first couple of readings with the Wormweird.

And here is the Happy Halloween.

This week I'll be using the Badgers Forest Tarot, a deck created and self-published by Nakisha VanderHoeven. Along with it, I'll be using my Gemstone Oracle (with actual stones). Today's draws are the Kit (Page) of Cups and Sunstone:

Anticipate the day as if it was your birthday, and you are turning six again.
~ Michael Dolan

At what age do we cease to keep our heart open and armor it instead? Pema Chodron tells the story of herself as a young girl, feeling angry, unloved and lonely, kicking whatever she encountered. An elderly woman saw her and said, "Little girl, don't you go letting life harden your heart." Both Chodron and this Page of Cups would tell us that we can constrict our heart, becoming more resentful and afraid. Or, we can let our experience soften us, keeping our heart open and tender, developing kindness and compassion (for ourselves and others). Sunstone suggests we look for the joy and beauty inherent in life and cease taking everything so seriously. The Page would encourage us to stop looking at the sky through a straw - there's much more space and other possibilities than what we're currently seeing.

@Agnes Those decks are both pretty cool. I am really drawn to that art and the story in the Wormweird deck. Another for the wishlist. 😛

@Bodhiseed I like that gemstone oracle and the way it uses pictures of actual stones. I'm slowly learning more about crystals and stones and sort of halfway looking for resources.

Here's my reading for today. I keep thinking I'm going to try other spreads with this deck but time keeps getting away from me. I feel the more I'm using it the easier it's getting but it still seems kinda different, I guess. I just love the art though.

Thanks Anomaly! ❤️ I loosely used Gail Butler's book "Crystal and Gemstone Divination" when I created the meanings for my oracle.

I did a reading using the Arcanum deck and posted it on my Journal page.

It is a really beautiful deck. I spent some time looking through it and getting used to the images before shuffling and cutting for the reading. It seems a very 'soft' deck with a pretty and artistic feel to it. I think I like some of the minors more than the majors though maybe that will change as I get used to using it. The imagery is based on the Rider Waite template but with quite a lot of differences and the cards seem a bit less 'busy'.

Hiya!

Late to the party here...I ended up having a very busy weekend and have been trying to catch up ever since!

I'm continuing with the Wildwood this week as I didn't feel I was able to give it enough attention last week.

I'm really enjoying reading with it though.  I brought it primarily for the artwork and I'm finding that reading is coming easier the more I use it.  It has a lot of depth to it that I think I'll be able to tap into the more I work with it.  I do struggle a little with the Guidebook as some parts don't seem relevant at all (and that's because (based on previous discussions on this forum) a large amount of the text was apparently taken from the Greenwood tarot) so I'm learning to go with my intuition with this deck and not rely too heavily on the Guidebook.

Here are two more readings, one each with the Wormweird and the Happy Halloween.  The Wormweird continues to be weird which is why I bought it so I can hardly complain and yet I do.  And the Happy Halloween is charming and I think not too simplistic.

This a beautiful message, very appropriate for the times. Thank you.

@Agnes That Happy Halloween deck is adorable. What a cool find.

Some cards I pulled this week. I really like that Page of Pentacles. Sorry my photo is not that great.

@MichaelH This is a little off topic, but I love your profile pic. It's hilarious.  😆 Are you an IT guy? At my place of employment we must change our network passwords every six months - it's brutal. Back on topic, I'm liking the Death and Star cards in your deck. I might have to take a closer look at that one. 🤨

Today I did a lunar reading with the Wildwood Tarot and it brought up some interesting things I wasn't expecting.  This deck always seems to surprise me with its messages yet they are so clear and obvious that I'm always "well why didn't I know that already?".  I guess that's the beauty of tarot reading.  I do still find this deck hard to work with, its got a lot of detail and symbolism (and I'm really not enjoying the Guidebook) but I'm loving the readings I'm getting with it so I guess its a case of perseverance and learning!

The profile picture is something I saw posted on Facebook but it appealed to me so I 'borrowed' it.

I'm not in IT though my husband used to be before he burned out and retrained as a massage therapist. Much less stressful  🙂

The Arcanum tarot deck is really lovely. There is another deck by the same artist called Thelema which also looks good.
