A thread for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, some use two. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; be respectful of one other. Please join us!

You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in.

  • Please post with your chosen deck for the week.
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you.
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here.

Hi all! I'm in with the Mary El Tarot (2nd ed) and the Middia Lenormand (mini).

Always need some Mary El time when I've been away from tarot a while.

@FindYourSovereignty She is pretty extraordinary. I love the way the Mary El always sucks me in, to look deeper. There's no temptation to skim in a reading when each card has such... gravitas. It's like the loved one who gives you "the look" when you make a throwaway comment and has you spilling your innermost truth in no time.

My cards for the week ahead (terrible lighting):

not surprised I'm getting cats thrown at me right now 😄.

Hi, everyone!  I took a bye week last week.  I was going to continue with Star Trek, but it just didn’t happen.  I’m still catching up on watching Star Trek episodes though, so I might swing back by with the deck later.

I still have 3 from NWTS that I haven’t used yet, but I’m going to forge on with the forum’s own We Are One: A Tarot Deck of Unity!  I know many of the creators are still here, so I hope I do justice to your beautiful creation.  I found a bag with green leaves in my pile, so I think that will work with it.

This is Thanksgiving week with 2 days off from work, and I’ve already had an early Thanksgiving with my family, so I should have some extra time to play with this lovely deck!

Let’s start off with the interview!

2067509268_Saturday2.thumb.jpg.46f2ae4dbdd988d86d0f6c6b47060c3a.jpg

Most important characteristic:  Explorer of Earth

Creators went from thinking about creating to creating something physical and usable.

Strength:  Elder of Earth

Again, it’s a tangible accomplishment.  Which took planning and concrete actions and decisions about how it should be.

Weakness:  Elder of Water

It might not be the accomplishment of what everyone wants in a deck.  But those desires are subjective.  We get what we get and it’s good in itself, not in contrast to what we wanted.

What I can learn from deck:  8 of Earth

More earth!  I can learn that a physical deck can be created, with lots of work and planning.

How can I learn it:  10 of Air

By going all in on planning.  Let the thoughts of a deck take over all aspects of my life.  Not sure if I’m ready for that!

Outcome of our work together:  The Hanged One

Which is fine because it won’t bear fruit right away.  Time will pass before the necessary growth has taken place.

Well, that worked!  Interesting pair of elders for strength and weakness.  I look forward to more with this deck!

Love that Elder of Earth card @Rachelcat.

Thanks @Bodhiseed, it's great to be back. Feeling rather rusty with tarot but the Mary-El is oiling the hinges nicely.

Feel less rusty on lenormand, as I was such a noob to begin with that there wasn't much to forget 😆. Really pleased with the Middia Lenormand. There are a couple slightly atypical representations but they're still super clear and aren't jarring. The mini size is perfect for GT too.

😊 The images feel deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep….. looks like a deck that speaks loudly from these images.

Going to be an interesting week.

This is a new deck for me and I’ve never done a deck interview before, however, @Rachelcat, you’ve inspired me to try it.

Deck interview spread: https://littleredtarot.com/tarot-deck-interview-spread/

1. Tell me about yourself. What is your most important characteristic?

2S - There are two doors of opportunity, two feathers indicating both choices are equally guided, just different experiences, and two keys letting me know I have to unlock a door … which door will I choose to walk through? The green suggests to me an earthy, Mother Gaia, grounded option while the blue feels more intellectual, divine connection, almost airy fairy, or could it be that the blue is an emotional, watery path and the green is more physical relating to my health and finances? No matter, this deck’s most important characteristic is the choices it will reveal and the opportunities for growth these choices and readings will present to me.

2. What are your strengths as a deck?
Awakening (Judgement) - The sun and angel wings glistening in the clear blue sky. A hand, the sitter, reaching up in a gesture to receive their offering. Snow capped mountain peaks all around. Does the angel arrive to save this person whose climbed to the top of the mountain peak? Did this person climb to the top to be closer to heaven, to touch the sun and the clouds? There is so much more out there for us than we realize. The strengths of this deck is to open me up to experiencing more than I ever realized I could, to reach higher and connect with everything available to me.

3. What are your limits as a deck?
Death/Rebirth Rx - The sitter has come upon a black rose (major changes) , fall leaves, a tree stump with turkey tail mushrooms representing the cycle of life, and a slithering snake holding space for shedding the old and moving into the new through healing and transformation. The ground is brown and bare, awaiting the winter months for respite and renewal. Reversed has me feeling that this deck will not hesitate to push one into transformation. The limitation seems to be that the deck won’t be able to stop itself from revealing what is dying off for new life to come in, what needs to heal for transformation, and what changes need to happen.

4. What are you here to teach me?
6C Rx - A collection of memorabilia over one’s lifetime including childhood, friendships, unconditional and conditional love. Reversed I believe the deck is going to teach me to appreciate the past for all that it was; move any areas where the past is keeping me stuck. All the stories, experiences, and beliefs have served a great purpose, but they don’t define me and the life I choose to live.

5. How can I best learn and collaborate with you?
The Magician - The sitter’s hands are cupped and reaching out, receiving energy and maybe sending energy, too. The rainbow light of the chakras and the element symbols together represent balance and alignment. I am my most powerful when my chakras are aligned, I am grounded, my heart is open, my third eye is activated, my crown is receiving, I am listening to my sacral, trusting my solar plexus, and communicating my truth. I can best learn and collaborate with this deck when my aligned chakras are alchemizing with the elements. The deck will help me achieve this. I’ll be able to receive the insights and messages the deck delivers to me.

6. What is the potential outcome of our working relationship?
The Fool - Looking at the vortex below, the sitter has a bird’s eye view of limitless potential and possibilities. Even if there are bumps or bruises along the way, nothing changes without taking the first step. Where will this step bring me along the adventure of my life? The potential outcome of our working relationship is that I will try new things, step out into the vortex of the unknown, and trust that my actions will be life affirming.

I feel a strong connection to the Magician’s hands filling with the rainbow and the Fool’s feet looking down at the reflection of that same rainbow. It is really neat. I look forward to working with this deck and connecting with all it has to offer.

Things of note: 4 Majors, numerology is 6 = The Lovers. This deck has two Lovers, each with one person - love of self, love of my Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine. The flow of energy of self-love goes out to the world and comes back to me.

I am open to receiving feedback and additional insights.

This week I'll be using the Fey Tarot, created by Riccardo Minetti and Mara Aghem and published by Lo Scarabeo. The oracle deck I'll be using is the I Misteri della Sibilla (The Mysteries of the Sibyl), created by E. Maiotti and published by Dal Negro. Today's draws are Temperance and Messenger (Jack of Diamonds):

temperance.jpg   messenger.jpg

This Temperance card shows a mix of water, air, earth and fire - the elements flow together rather than work against each other. Here there is a restful softening, a receptiveness that doesn't grasp or push away but allows. This fey would explain that it is our rigidity that causes us to break. The Sibilla's Messenger indicates information that comes that we may or may not welcome. Will we remain soft and flexible or become unyielding in response? However if we take 'self' out of the picture and allow our emotional energy to dissipate without fueling it, the message simply becomes information that we can deal with appropriately.

@FindYourSovereignty, those images are lovely and the meanings of each card are very clear in the symbols used. 👍

I agree!

Side note: Your blog is inspiring me to finally start my own. Still thinking, but I am feeling a spark.

It is readings like this that make me wish I had kept a deck I once had. I see what you are sharing so clearly, but I couldn’t back then. Thank you.

@Rachelcat, I was so glad to see your Star Trek posts. I haven’t seen yet how the forum deck turned out. I look forward to seeing more of it this week.

Although I have yet to learn Lenormand, I do have the pastel Middia deck. It is lovely.

Card of the Day:

Traditionally this card to me often means the boredom card - forcing one to review the situation and circumstances to evaluate what needs to happen next along the journey. To rekindle their enthusiasm.

Although the colors are some of my favorite and the art in this card is beautiful, in some small way this card still means that to me. I am not a gardener. Although I love and appreciate all the reasons gardens are necessary, it just isn’t my thing, at least not at this time in my life. Maybe one day…

There are seven coins strewn atop the lush green grass with a dirt covered shovel beside them. The sitter is holding the mighty baby oak tree in their gloved hands. Below the hands, the recently dug hole is rich with amber and gold light streaming through. Is the sitter planting the mighty oak or did she just dig it up to be moved to another location?

There is a seed that I planted and I have been growing, tending to, and establishing its roots.  It needs my attention now as the soil is ripe with the nutrients it needs to flourish. I need to keep tending to what I’ve been working on. I cannot give up on it as the work I’ve put in is about to come into its own. Take the time to both appreciate all I’ve done and to continue to be prepared for what can happen next. Allow myself to reach mastery rather than throw in the towel too soon.

Ooh, I hadn't seen the colour version till now. That is pretty.

Currently scratching my head over a Middia reading. I can see it's answering the question wonderfully clearly, I just don't have the experience to understand it yet. Practical, household meanings for cards are something I haven't found a good source for yet. My Rana George book doesn't seem to go into mundane things like plumbing, wiring etc. My own lack of knowledge of such skills is hardly helping me figure it out 😅.

What work is the freeholder planning to do following the electrical report?

Fox + Tree + Ship + House

Okay. So are they working (fox) to bring up to health & safety (tree) the sockets that aren't watertight (ship) in the "wet" rooms of the property (house)? Or are they working (fox) to ground (tree) the electrics to the water pipes (ship) as they leave the property (house), seeing as they don't appear to be grounded to the gas pipes as normal? Or I guess gas is a liquid in the pipes too so they could be doing it the usual way. Hgnff.  I understand the snake used as pipes or wires but not sure how the ship applies in these types of reading. Should find out soon enough, so seemed like a useful practice reading to try 👍.
