November Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Hi everyone, in a reading I pull The Moon as advice about how to address anxiety/fears. I think it's about going back to the root of what scares/worries you, learning how to discern between what it is real and what it is not, but I think there's more to it.. Any other ideas? Thank you.
Raggydoll Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 This will certainly depend on what deck is used, but generally speaking, I would consider the Moon card to be cautioning the person from making any important decisions at the present time. It might also indicate a cyclical pattern, perhaps due to hormones or other circumstances. This means that it can be helpful to recognize such patterns and wait for things to shift. There will be an ebb and flow to the situation, it’s not stuck or stagnant like with the Hanged man. Primal instincts can likely play a role, possibly tied to a lack of security or stability. Those things can certainly be addressed, but right now is not the best time for it.

I'd have said to reflect about it. Distance yourself from the buzz of anxiety and let it calm down. Then again, the quote above does stand supreme.
November Posted December 9, 2022 Author Posted December 9, 2022 (edited) @Mister thank you for commenting my post. I was using RWS deck. What you say for The Moon makes sense, you need to distance yourself from what scares you to understand it. Edited December 9, 2022 by November
November Posted December 9, 2022 Author Posted December 9, 2022 Thank you @Raggydoll, I used RWS deck. I've never thought such meanings about The Moon, but I can see how they make sense.
Mister Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 @November, There's anotherone, but it is not the safe route. Please do judge carefully whether it is doable for/"resonates" with you or not. It'd be: "Continue onwards with whatever you wanted to do despite beeing afraid. Do not let the fears distract you from your aim." Or: "Do not let rumors faze you." Depending on circumstances, doing so can put some minor or even major degree of stress on your nerves, and I have absolutely no idea how resistant to or welcoming in tackling such stress you are - it is up to you what to do.

Considering the situation it applies the first one, a sort of ''do it anyway''. Thank you again.

Wanderer Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 I use the Wildwood, so my take may be slightly different... but it's similar to what I would interpret from the RW as well. The Moon for me is about surface appeareances versus reality; mysteries and deceptions, and misunderstood situations. The unknown is normally the greatest source of fear, so in this context the solution is to see through the deceptions and understand the real situation. At the moment, you probably realise (at least to some degree) that you don't understand everything, and that's why you have the anxiety. First, explicitly recognise that you don't understand the situation fully, find where the gaps are, and then sit down and work it out... or ask someone else who knows the pieces you're missing - whatever works! Once you understand, the fear and anxiety will disappear. Theoretically!
November Posted December 9, 2022 Author Posted December 9, 2022 Thank you @Wanderer for your interpretation. That's true, the unknown is very scary.. I'll try to do this, focusing on what is real.
DanielJUK Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 In the daytime, the Sun illuminates everything around us brightly but in the dark night, the sun reflects some light at the moon which illuminates a little for us to see. The Moon cycles, sometimes it is a tiny slither of light, sometimes it's full and bright (like the recent Full Moon). But what about where the light doesn't get to, the pitch darkness, it's scary and anxiety enduring. There could be wild dogs and roaming crayfish lobster creatures, our personal worst fears could be projected in the darkness without light. This card often has a Full Moon, this affects us (I am quite sensitive to it as a person), the animals behave weirdly - they go with their instincts and primal nature. It affects our fertility, moods, emotions and behaviours, sometimes it makes us angry or emotional or we might feel a little crazy. As others have said, things are uncertain and confusing, what's real or not? So how can you address this? - Find what is certain, the moon rules cycles. The Sun rises and sets, the Moon rises and sets, this happens every day of our lives, wherever we are in the world. Whatever is happening, that is going to happen! It rules the tides, there will be high and low tides twice a day. It rules our personal circles and also the lunar cycles, we know it's gonna be a moon cycle of 29.5 days, that is what always happens. What can you rely on? - Confront your fears, why do you have these? What emotions do they make you feel? Confront them instead of running from them. Is the unknown out there in the darkness really that scary? - This can be great for intuitive work and diving into your subconscious / shadow side. Perhaps going into our own darknesses is something we have to do and explore. Listen or watch out for any intuitive messages or things from dreams, they could be important - There are plenty of good things about the moon which is not about our fears, it can be channelled for great creativity; art, poetry, music and romance. It's great for tarot readings and divination. Perhaps embracing some of it's more positive themes can help, use it's energy to improve your life - I think the big message of the Moon is to acknowledge this energy, it's okay to feel uncertain, unsure and not sure what is real in life. You don't have to act on it, just notice it and eventually it will pass
November Posted December 11, 2022 Author Posted December 11, 2022 Hello @DanielJUK, thanks for your help. I think your analysis is perfect. All the inputs you gave could help me, but I think that "confronting my fears" is the first step to take for me now.
Yola Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 Hello @November, how are you? I love reflecting on advice cards, this is one of the topics I ask the most around here! 😊 Excellent contributions were made! Can I share some stuff I have around here? - Trust your intuition - Be aware of what may be hidden. - Be aware of your dreams and visions. To the unconscious, invisible and astral plane. - Be aware of the night, the month, the eclipse, menstruation. - Observe, listen and remain silent. - Opt for discretion. - Trust in the transience of cycles. - Open to sensitivity. - Use your power of attraction and magnetism to your advantage. - Use all the strength and emotional energy in your favor. - Allow yourself to feel. - Dive into the depths. Go deeper, go beyond the surface. - Explore the fertility of inspirations. - Allow yourself to escapism, delirium and imagination. - Be open to mystery. - Move by instinct. - Recognize the presence of some illusions, fears, mistakes, distortions, insecurities and emotional dependencies. I hope it's useful, a big hug!
November Posted December 11, 2022 Author Posted December 11, 2022 Hi @Yola, thank you for sharing all of this!! All these takes make sense with The Moon.
Chariot Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 As advice, I would say to be aware that you can't tell what's real just now. You're missing vital bits of information. Even though the moon is visible, its light is weak. Many shapes are hidden, indistinct, or can look very strange in the moon's half-light. Don't let your imagination lead you astray. That flapping 'thing' in your path is probably not a ghost, but simply a torn shirt blowing in the wind. However, when you turn to run away from it, you can fall into a ditch or tumble over a cliff. Basically, don't make decisions based on what you think is happening now. Just sit tight, and wait until everything is revealed for what it actually is. Things will look different in the daylight.
