...i have a lot of preorders floating out in the ether; fortunately none have been cancelled yet due to tarriff shenanigans but i'm waiting for that shoe to drop eventually...a couple of publishers put out pleas for supplemental orders (at a generous discount) to help offset the extra costs, and a few others have come in high on final shipping costs, but most have made a noble effort to absorb or at least split their cost increases on extant preorders...

...delays hit often-enough that i've quit closely tracking preorder campaigns and just enjoy the surprise packages, now...

It's simply part of my tarot insanity.

I had about 4 Tarot calendars by Major Tom (of Major Tom's Tarot) - before he moved to the US.

I can't find them anymore... so... they may have gone into a charity box 😱

I received notification today that the Oracle of Many Paths (James R. Eads; Kickstarter) is starting to ship.  And I’m still waiting for one other deck that I backed.

I should be getting my replacement shipment* of the Fairytale Tarot today.
*the 1st deck I received was used and scuffed - the cards are BEAUTIFUL however and I can't wait to get it.

Just ordered a Voyager Tarot. I'm happy reading the images and keywords of the same creator's Sustain Yourself Oracle without worrying about any systems or guidebooks so this should let me do the same thing in the Tarot Exchanges.

Got the Voyager Tarot now and drew XXI - Universe so am feeling hopeful that it covers everything and, although the images are rather busy and will take a lot of thought, given time it might help me to break out of my limited views and explore a wider reality 🚀.

I've been curating my wishlist/bookmarks quite a bit over the past few weeks and deleted many decks I had my eye on. But the Bon Sequitur is still ranking high after you introduced it to me in the game we play in the subscriber section, @Rose Lalonde. I'm sure you'll enjoy reading with it!

The Oracle of Many Paths by James R. Eads arrived today.  The presentation is very nice.  It’s Tarot but not Tarot… Definitely nontraditional.  The cards are numbered 00 to 77 with an extra card.  You can sort of tell which tarot card corresponds with about half of the deck without much effort.  I did back it at the larger amount so I received all the stuff including a yes/no coin, a bag with charms in it, some stickers, a bookmark, book plates, a diary/workbook, a reading cloth, a satchel…and probably a few other things I can’t recall right now.

I had to email the creator of the other kickstarter project that I’d backed.  Kickstarter had me down for completed and I hadn’t received the deck.  She promptly answered my email saying she would ship it today.  So hopefully, within the next week or so, I should get that deck as well.

ETA:  And that deck arrived today,  The Art History Tarot for Past Lives Expanded Edition.  It’s actually quite nice.  I recognize at least one of the cards from another tarot creator that used the art of others to design a deck.  I was surprised that the deck arrived so quickly.  Kudos to the US Postal Service …this time.

I just ordered “The Wild Unknown Tarot Deck and Guidebook (Official Keepsake Box Set)” off of amazon. It’s about half off right now so the price of a normal tarot deck, around $20.

I was never interested in the deck but in the past few years I’d been interested in getting a black and white deck. Then lately as I was getting back into watching tarottube and seeing this deck pop up, something clicked and I was reminded of my childhood somehow. Something about the art was clicking with a a sort of nostalgic feeling that reminded me of my essential personality. Maybe I’m just describing how art resonates with people in general.

I’m hoping I have the same reaction or a stronger one when I get the deck in person. I got prime at a discounted rate for the holidays so it should be here after tomorrow, Wednesday. I was a little unsure of the keepsake box and it was the only option available but luckily the deck is contained in a sturdy two piece box within the larger box, so I don’t need to keep the bulky thing. Plus, it comes with the guidebook, which I wanted, though I’ve heard it isn’t that descriptive.

All in all, I’m looking forward to it. It’s a bit of an impulse buy and is the first deck I’ve bought for myself in three or four years. I did just recently get one sent to me for Christmas by a friend. He said he got it on sale and I checked online and it was a pretty good sale. Then just now I was watching a VR to the tarot tag #tarotbartender that was trending a year ago and it featured the Wild Unknown, had those feelings described, and checked. So yeah, kinda excited 🙂

I got the Wild Unknown some years ago when it was on Summer sale on the Urban Outfitters website. I put off buying it for years as I had numerous issues towards the deck and it didn't appeal to me at all. It's minimalist in it's art form and I am not minimalist in style. However in person, I really loved it. It reads really well intuitively 🙂

I'm sure you will really enjoy using it @zurgles

@DanielJUK Sounds like we had a similar experience. 🙂 I’m also not a minimalist. I also wasn’t into the way the courts were renamed at the time and I’d always liked more colorful decks (main reason why the Sakki-Sakki is a favorite of mine!). It also seemed kinda bleak. But I’ve come around and am thinking I’ll have a positive experience. It does seem like it’ll be a good intuitive reader.

Thanks! 😁 I’ll post in the unboxing and first impressions thread when I get it and have a chance to go through it.

On another old forum, I answered a questionnaire to find out which tarot deck was best for me. The Tarot of Mystical Moments was suggested to me. I was indeed captivated by Catrin Welz-Stein's illustrations. The deck is beautiful, and the artist has captured the essence of certain cards with great originality. But I told myself that I already had enough tarot decks gathering dust on a shelf.

Then, while searching online, I came across a French edition published by Cartamundi (which the artist does not mention on her website): Le tarot mystique. And that was the deciding factor – French is my first language. I should receive it in the first few days of 2026. On some forums, I read that the French booklet is more comprehensive than the one published in English by U.S. Games. Often, I am as interested in the booklets as I am in the cards.

My Wild Unknown was supposed to arrive today but the package just shipped. 😑 It says it’s gonna arrive Friday. Kinda annoyed. But it’s still pretty fast I guess, so I suppose I shouldn’t be too peeved. It’s the false advertising on amazon’s part that gets me, especially since they didn’t give an explanation. Oh well.
