fire cat pickles Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 (edited) A thread for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck. No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us! Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. Nemia Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 I started on Saturday with my weekly Planetary reading, and I'm working with the Mystical Tarot. I find it a bit difficult - it looks so, may I call it garish? You'll find my rant about it here, in my journal "Keeping Time with the Tarot". It's actually growing on me 😉
Bodhiseed Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Thank you Fire Cat! ❤️ This week I'll be using the Hezicos Tarot, created and self-published by Mary Griffin. Along with it I'll be using the Way of the Horse, an oracle deck and book set created by Linda Kohanov with Kim McElroy and published by New World Library. The two cards drawn for today are the Seven of Cups and Sky of Mind: The quality of your life is built on the quality of your decisions. –Wesam Fawz When we are spoiled for choice, it's easy to choose what we think we'll bring us the quickest satisfaction with the smallest of effort. Or if prone to fantasy, we may build grand expectations of one choice on assumptions with no concrete basis. Griffin suggests patience is needed as well as common sense in making any big decision. Sky of Mind encourages us to be a master of our own mind, allowing emotions and thoughts to come and go like clouds in the sky without attaching to any of them. Rather than focusing on what we believe our life should look like, we see it realistically, allowing discernment to guide us. There is room for possibilities if we don't demand specifics. Instead of being influenced by our grasping or clinging, we can consider Roy Disney's advice: "Decision making is easy when your values are clear."
fire cat pickles Posted July 17, 2023 Author Posted July 17, 2023 Glad to have you back @Nemia 😀 The DoW Group is a fun and enlightening way to share how your decks can work for others, to highlight new or unique reading techniques and spreads, and perhaps to introduce new decks for other members.
Rachelcat Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Hi, everyone! Another week for decks of the day! This week will be: Monday, Cosmic Tribe Tarot Tuesday on Monday, Love Your Body Cards Wednesday on Tuesday, Animal Wisdom Tarot Thursday on Tuesday, Druid Animal Oracle Friday on Saturday, Tabula Mundi Tarot Colores Arcus Saturday, Oracle of the Radiant Sun Sunday, Rare Triumphs Tarot Cards Next up is Body, Appearance, Physical Element. That means we have Cosmic Tribe Tarot and Love Your Body Cards. Monday Cosmic Tribe Tarot is a Thoth-inspired deck composed mostly of photos of naked people. It has such fun and freshness that I fell in love with it at first sight. But I usually don’t use it because it probably wouldn’t be good for reading for others (except at a nudist camp!), and feel like I can’t post pics of it here. So it remains a fun personal gem! New Moon in Cancer spread by Ethony (I had two non-nudie cards I could share here!) How can I bring more balance to my home? Prince of Swords Don’t concentrate of being old. Concentrate more on getting newer, better information and using it to solve problems. What old family beliefs need to be healed? 3 Swords That the truth is painful. Not everything in the past was terrible. There was also fun and caring. We can let the pain go and keep the good parts. And the truth. It just doesn’t have to hurt anymore. What old family patterns need examining? 4 Swords Resting and recuperating doesn’t have to be alone and lonely. Even complicated connections can also be helpful and calming. How can I be a more impactful community member? Queen of Disks Time to step up to be the best grandma I can be! With physical and emotional support and help as needed. Tuesday on Monday Love Your Body Cards. You might remember helping me on my quest for a proper “Body, Appearance, Physical Element” oracle deck. Thank you! Although I was intrigued by the other oracles based on body parts, I settled on this one because it’s more mainstream and positive than strange, creepy, or scientific. (Plus I can add it to my square cards and affirmations deck lists!) It’s a Hay House deck with pretty, soft art and affirmations by Louise Hay on the backs (or are they the fronts?) There are 44 cards, so with my 15% rule, I just squeak by for a 6-card spread. (44 x 0.15 = 6.6) New moon in Cancer, Honey Moon spread, Spirit de la Lune What have I committed to? I love my feet I have committed to moving forward. How am I receiving support? I love my breasts I can receive support for health and nourishment. How am I offering support to others? I love my back I can support others by being myself. I can stand up for others. Opportunities available to me: I love my nose I have the opportunity to follow my nose to where I want to go. I can stiff out good things and find them. How can I embrace these opportunities? I love my bones By being strong, structured, and balanced. Outcome, the honey that will be created: I love my fingers I will be able to touch and feel, and create. Well, that was fun! I like the colorfulness of these cards, too!
