A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

Wheel of Change - Alexandra Genetti for me.

This is one of my all-time favorites!

Thank you Fire cat! I'm in with the Alchemical Tarot Renewed paired with the Oracle of the Radiant Sun.

I realize there’s something incredibly honest about trees in winter, how they’re experts at letting things go. ―Jeffrey McDaniel

In alchemy, putrefaction meant decomposition, a first step in the pathway to the philosopher's stone. In life, we also have things to let go of if we want to move on to something better. Hatred makes no room for love in the heart, and shame's decree of unworthiness gives us no space to grow. Nothing that causes us to suffer is worth clinging to, especially when there is something better for us on the horizon. Caution (Mercury in Virgo) warns us not to run for the first thing we see after we drop what we've been grasping. It would be prudent to investigate and see the whole picture, knowing what such a commitment means.

Hi crew!  I’m a little late, but here!  Thanks @fire cat pickles!  Hey, @Bodhiseed, great pairing!

This week for me will be Tarot of Reincarnation, an older Lo Scarabeo deck.  (LWB says copyright 2007.  Man, I’m old.)  It belongs to a very exclusive category of my decks, animal tarots with one species per card.  I tried to collect them and had many, including the Ark Tarot that @Natural Mystic Guide has been using, but I then narrowed down to only this one and Animal Wisdom Tarot, a Cico Books deck now republished as Spirit Animal Tarot.

As you see, it has natural history Audubon-style illustrations (I guess that’s what you’d call it) and French suits, so it could easily be used for game play.  But I’m going use it for reading!  It doesn’t force the reincarnation theme (it’s basically just animals) except that it has two fools:  a human male (0) and an adorned human female (XXII).  The backs appropriately feature scarabs.  What may have stopped me from reading with it so long is that the entire clubs (wands) suit is bugs!  So we’ll see how I do with that.

I’ll check the LWB for species if I can’t figure it out (like for the bugs) and probably try the reincarnation-themed spreads.  In the meantime, on to the interview!

Ok, this deck seems to have a sense of humor.  I definitely shuffled and ended up with only majors and clubs!

What is your most important characteristic?  2 Clubs, beetle

(Seems like a lot of the clubs are beetles, but that’s what the booklet says . . .)

Obviously meta, it’s most important characteristic is there are too many bugs!  And/or it doesn’t mess around, it’s full of energy.

What is your strength?  XVIII (Moon), lobster

Meta again, it’s very good at matching animals, at least for the majors.  And/or even though it’s very theme-y and pretty minimalist, it can spark intuition and speak on hidden and esoteric things.

Your weakness?  IV (Emperor), hawk

It’s far off the beaten path.  It doesn’t bow to tarot authorities, or tell us how to read either.

What can you teach me?  VII (Chariot), rhinoceros

They’re huge but can move fast when they want to.

The deck can take me on the next steps of my pip reading journey.

How can I learn it?  I (Magician), chimpanzee

Chimp definitely works for Magician.  Clever and can be a trickster.

I can take control and make my own meaning, and be clever about it!

What will be the outcome of our work together?  6 Clubs, locust

Is that really what a locust looks like?  I guess some kind of locust.  They can take over and conquer entire farms and areas if the farmers aren’t careful.

I will master this deck and brag about it!

I adore this deck.  It's one of my favorites except for one thing -- the color saturation is weak.  Otherwise I would use it more often.  I spoke to Alexandra about the second printing and it is the same.  I guess it's the medium that she used -- watercolor?  I'll be interested to see what you post for this.

I'm still plodding along with reading the guidebook (big) for the Ark Tarot and Oracle deck.  I've been super busy this last week.8Cups.jpeg.e18677adac3f61ccee707776d11bf877.jpeg

So I've enjoyed Wheel of Change for this week, and done a 3 card reading with it - link in my first post.

I've always liked the visuals of this deck, lots of images from different cultures and time periods but they meld together well. The thing I don't really get along with is the amount of information in the book LOL. Of course the creator is entitled to write as much as they wish about their deck, but for me there is too much information, too many associations and myth connections, Personally  I skip a lot of it most of time, but might dive into an individual card in a reading.

A deck I've had for 19 years, and still a keeper

My WofC book would get more use if I used it as a doorstop! 😂
