fire cat pickles Posted September 30, 2024 Author Posted September 30, 2024 Thank you for tagging me @Hemera and here is this week's 🙂 I'm staying with the Tyldwick for this week!
Bodhiseed Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 I'm in with the Tarot Lukumi paired with Diloggun Cards. Thank you Fire cat! Wisdom is the reward you get for a lifetime of listening when you'd have preferred to talk. —Doug Larson The Six of Swords is about a transition, a radical change in ideas and attitudes, in order bring calm and harmony to our mind and life. Imagine being possessed (as this priest), and suddenly experiencing everything from another's perspective. It's so hard to get past our habitual ways of viewing things and glimpse another viewpoint. But in this case, peace comes with a price - letting go of our usual frame of reference. The prophecy and proverb for Two Mouths are: Ifa: The prevalence of temper outbursts and cursing are the causes of difficulty in one’s life. Proverb: Ashes fly back in the face of he who throws them. Anger and resentment are perhaps the two biggest obstacles to adopting a new frame of reference. But if we become miserable enough, perhaps we might be willing.

Hemera Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Synchronicity! I just received a note from the post office that the Traditional Korean Tarot *in a tin* has arrived and should be in my mailbox in a day or two! Yay!! I have been waiting for it to arrive from Korea for a few weeks now. I have had the holographic version (with the titles written in Korean) for about a year, and I really love it. But the cards are on large side so I'm really happy to get this smaller version in a tin now. Just in time for this DotW exercise, too!
Rachelcat Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Hi everyone! I hope we all have fun with our decks this week! I happened to be watching/listening to deck reviews on YouTube while I was cleaning house and somehow ended up with two new decks! This week will be Tarot for the Great Outdoors. The majors are labeled with and illustrate US national and state parks (I’ve only been to 3 of them), and the minors feature outdoor activities. The suits are sticks, vessels, blades, and stones. It has a b&w booklet and a few cards with keywords and the Celtic cross spread. (The cardstock isn’t the greatest, but that’s not really a concern for me: I’ve been collecting decks since the late 80s so I accept cardstock as it comes unless the cards are completely unusable, which these are definitely not.) I’m not a super outdoorsy person, but I AM a sucker for theme decks, and this seems like a good, wholesome theme. So here we go! Two majors, three courts, one minor. What is your most important characteristic? The Star, Joshua Tree National Park I was right when I thought that this is a wholesome deck! It has good and uplifting messages. The park’s website says “Two distinct desert ecosystems, the Mojave and the Colorado, come together.” It also points out the dark night skies, a rarity in southern California. So Star it is! What is your strength? Two of Vessels A couple cooperates equally to navigate in a canoe. The deck is strong for relationship and emotional readings. Your weakness? Queen of Vessels Sailboarding a wave seems very intense! The vessels suit is a bit TOO watery? What can you teach me? The Devil, Carlsbad Caverns National Park Website: “High ancient sea ledges, deep rocky canyons, flowering cactus, and desert wildlife—treasures above the ground in the Chihuahuan Desert. Hidden beneath the surface are more than 119 caves—formed when sulfuric acid dissolved limestone leaving behind caverns of all sizes.” In New Mexico. I’m assuming it’s the Devil because it’s underground, dark, and mysterious. Oh, and there are bats! The deck can tempt me to be more outdoors and maybe to travel! How can I learn it? Page of Stones Even at my age, I can be a camping beginner. And take advantage of the help of a friendly host! What will be the outcome of our work together? King of Stones I will focus on mastering an understanding of the nature the deck presents. This is great! Looking forward to it this week!

Natural Mystic Guide Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 I'm still here. I'm working my way through the large guidebook as I hang out with the Inner Child Cards 'A Fairy-Tale Tarot' by authors Isha Lerner and Mark Lerner and illustrated by Christopher Guilfoil.. I'm having mixed feelings both about the art and the content of the guidebook. Overall, I do find it valuable. I'm looking forward to incorporating it into inner child work and seeing how it does. Recommended tarot spreads include a 21 card spread which pulls a card for each year of a newborn's life. For me, I think that one card at a time is going to work best. Here's 'Sleeping Beauty' for XIII 'Death'.

Hemera Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 (edited) I received my new Traditional Korean Tarot in a Tin ( https://banatarot.com/ ) just this morning. Wow, it´s lovely. The smaller sized cards are easier to handle than the larger holographic ones I have. I think I´ll be using this mini version a lot more. I did my usual New Deck Spread. (I think I got this from AT many years ago.) -------3------ 1------------2 Three cards. 1) You (what will you be giving to me, something I can learn from you) 2) Me (what you expect from me, what should I do to most benefit from our relationship) 3) Us together (our journey together, what is it going to be like) 1. YOU: Three of Pentacles Keyword: Skill The deck has hidden talents and gifts that it may be willing to give to me. There is knowledge and there are resources that we can share. There are also lots of details to give attention to. (Very true, These cards and the guidebook are packed with interesting details!) 2. ME: Seven of Swords Keyword: Plot Grab the cards and run! This is also the "fake it till you make it"-card. 😉This card is about planning, taking action, active studying and doing something to reach a goal. What the deck wants from me is exactly what I intend to do and what I enjoy the most, reading, taking notes etc. Re-starting my Card a Day project might be a good idea. 3. Us together: Three of Cups Keyword: Bonding Oh, what could be better! Love, bonding, friendship, joy. "You are moving closer to success with good helpers" says the book. Such a perfect reading for this new deck! I think I´ll start pulling a Card a Day in the next couple of days. Edited October 2, 2024 by Hemera
PathWalker Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 New Moon reading done https://www.thetarotforum.com/forums/topic/16481-under-the-tree/?do=findComment&comment=281790
Wyrdkiss Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 (edited) Greetings, Allow me to share a spread I did for another post; I used the one pictured. My reading was with Le Tarot Arthurien, my Deck of the Week. It was complimented with a card from my Thoth as well. I added thoughts about the Arthurien at the end. 1> You: Where you are - the 8 of Cups. 2> Message: A message you Need to Hear - King of Cups 3> Action to Take: What to Do, First Step - 6 Swords 4> North Star; Guidance - 5 of Swords Thoth Pull: The Moon My current energy is in grief, and the 8 of Cups suggests it is time to process more directly and move on from it, let it go. The King of cups suggests empathy and compassion is needed -- both with myself, and others involved. The first step suggests I begin the Journey, in this case metaphorical immediately. And know the crossing will be worth the trip's demands. I also wish to get to the coast soon, for a visit , to facilitate this. The Guidance card asks me to to be aware of the mental toll the unprocessed emotions are taking. Thoth Moon -- "Let the Illusion of the World pass over thee, unheeded, as thou goest from the midnight to the morning." This encourages me I will make it through this dark night if I let go of the stories I create around the situation, which only impair progress and fee the 5 of swords energy. This was a positive, but difficult, reading to process. Thank you for taking a look, and feedback welcomed. The Tarot Le Arthurien is a mass-market (most likely) deck from France. I love the soft colors and artwork, but there are times it deviates from the RWS system and I do not find those cards always effective. The 6 of Swords, with the tree instead of a boat, is an example. I actually put some RWS cards underneath to assist me in studying the spread results. The Court Cards are also a challenge, as they "zoom in" very closely with the person, so essentially it is memorization only one can by with interpretation. Regardless, I love the deck quite a bit. Will employ it in personal readings on occasion for sure, but not with clients. Edited October 5, 2024 by Wyrdkiss
fire cat pickles Posted October 5, 2024 Author Posted October 5, 2024 Welcome back @Wyrdkiss 😀 Great turnout this week!
Hemera Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 I started a journal for my deck, and I also started planning on writing a deck review at some point. I listed the plants and animals that I found in this deck. There were some in every single card and I discovered new ones that I had not noticed before. I also listed unusual mythical animals (such as phoenixes, and dragons of various colours) and interesting objects (masks, traditional staffs etc). It was a slow process, in fact still ongoing, as the big guidebook is filled with interesting information on all the details. I can't believe that the deck format has such a big meaning on my interest in studying & using a deck. I've had the big holographic version of this deck for over a year and as beautiful as it is, it's been difficult to use. The cards are big and thick, and somewhat sticky. The small deck in a tin that I just received is a dream come true, just perfect to handle in every way.
