fire cat pickles Posted November 4, 2024 Author Posted November 4, 2024 I'm moving on to the (new) Tarocchi Minchiate Di Bomarzo by Amparo Aguirre aka Tarot Minchiate in Full Colors & Golden Details 🙂 Here is a flip-through vid for those who are interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XoYOviIqCU&ab_channel=TarotNut Her other deck was also a Kickstarter and was later for purchase on her site, so if you're interested and missed it, I'd say be patient and it will probably become available. * * * I have enjoyed my time with the Tyldwick and will no doubt return to it. The images are very dark and have so much going on in them. Over the last two weeks I drew cards and never got around to posting my readings for them. I mulled over some interpretations, and after thinking about them I suppose the deck stopped speaking loudly enough for me to write about it. It's time for me to get back to an old familiar with pips for a while. It will be interesting to see what a little color adds to my readings too. I have done one reading with the Bomarzo (it was political so won't share), and the cards shuffle wonderfully. The size is small, which may be more perfect for some. I wasn't too sure about the the colors at first, but from what I get from them so far, they don't seems to distracting and blend well together from card-to-card.
Bodhiseed Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Good morning Fire cat, thanks for the new thread! I'm in this week with the Herbcrafter's Tarot paired with the Green Wheel Oracle. Great things are done by a series of small things brought together. ― Vincent Van Gogh Lavender is so widely known, it is commonly found in grocery stores or pharmacies in the form of bath soaks, teas, sprays or simply as an essential oil. It often employed for stress and anxiety or restlessness and insomnia. The companion booklet's message is to calm the mind and the body; to calm the mind, we must often first calm the body. Wood Mouse suggests that we step back from trying to make big changes or handle immense projects and instead concentrate on the small tasks that can be done. As the Dhammapada states, "Drop by drop the water pot is filled."
Natural Mystic Guide Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 I am going to be dwelling with the Witches' Wisdom Tarot for a while. All of the Major Arcana and many of the Minor Arcana just do not tie into the RWS meanings. To this means spending lots of time with a deck to receive make it my own. This is not a plug and play deck. I'm going to be using a technique developed by Susan Chang. It takes a Card(s) of the Day to a deeper level. The concept is to create a spell -- a rhyming spell. Based on the cards together we are encouraged to create a spell that can change our reality. So look forward to my posting these as time allows.
fire cat pickles Posted November 4, 2024 Author Posted November 4, 2024 Welcome back @Bodhiseed and @Natural Mystic Guide 🙂
Rachelcat Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Hi, everyone! Sliding in late! This week will be Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards and Dark Grimoire Tarot. (No theme, just more Halloween!) I’ve had Gypsy Witch off and on over the years, but I held onto this copy because it was a gift from my niece. And I like the backs. So I should probably use it. I just pulled it out of the box and it looks like at one time I divided it into lenormand cards and other cards. But I think I’m going to use them all and see what happens. It also comes with instructions for tableau-type spreads, so I’ll give them a try sometime this week. The Dark Grimoire Tarot is a Lo Scarabeo deck based on Lovecraft’s horror fiction. Interesting that LWB and title card name it “Tarocchi del Necronomicon.” It think it’s not called that in English because Llewellyn, the US distributor of Lo Scarabeo, also has a Necronomicon Tarot based on Lovecraft. I don’t know much about Lovecraft because I not really into horror, and his stuff is SO racist I couldn’t get through it. And repetitive. But for some reason I really like the artwork, similar to LS’s 2012 and Mona Lisa tarots. (Same artist, or the artists are brothers, I think?) So for me, it’s just a deck of cool monsters! Let’s give them a both try! What is your most important characteristic? The tree It’s great at health readings. Who knew? What is your strength? The eye It sees things clearly. Your weakness? The book But maybe doesn’t express them as clearly. What can you teach me? The anchor It can teach me to hope. I’m not holding my breath. How can I learn it? The tower I have to stick with the deck for a while to develop more hope. What will be the outcome of our work together? The moon In the end, I’ll think the deck is a little delusional and talks about illusions. I didn’t use the text on the cards but more lenormand, tarot, and intuition. Wow, lots of majors. I really did shuffle. What is your most important characteristic? 2 Pentacles Even though it’s based on darkness and fear, the deck really is pretty well balanced, like and equal fight between a mugger and his victim. What is your strength? Death Everyone goes through those doors eventually! The deck is really quite philosophical while keeping the end game forward. Your weakness? Empress It’s not as good for depicting feminine aspects. What can you teach me? Lovers Is the man choosing domestic harmony and comfort over distant mystery? It can teach me how varied human emotions really are. How can I learn it? Temperance The lady of the fountain pours out spiritual nourishment to scary supplicants. By keeping both sides in mind and being aware of where they meet in the middle. What will be the outcome of our work together? Knave of Wands I will take a more active role in learning to use the deck. Cool! We’ll see how it goes.
PathWalker Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 I seem to be in using the Spacious Tarot by default - it's not next on the list but it's right beside me on the workroom desk
fire cat pickles Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 Welcome back @PathWalker 🙂 The Bomarzo wasn't next on my list either but I just got it and it was calling out to me!
PathWalker Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Been a nice week with the Spacious Tarot - it's a definite keeper for me and so just got used because I kept setting my hand on it rather than as an inquiry as to it's usefulness I enjoy the images, the lack of human figures, the use of colour, truly one of my favourites.
