I was wondering if embedding an image makes it stretch to a specific width/height? I purposefully made my images smaller (in dimensions and file size) but I'm sure what I'm seeing on the forum is almost 150% of my original upload (and therefore blurry). Is there a specific width/height to aim for to avoid distortions?

Oh, I had a thought: Is it because I dragged it into the text field vs. leaving it as "attached"?

I'll try and find out the max upload sizes you can have, I'm sure @Little Fang can give us the lowdown if she is passing here.

You can probably upload the original sizes, I've yet to find one of my upload pictures is too big in size. The forum will resize them and put the original to click through, the displayed in the thread image is smaller, like a large thumbnail.

You can drag the pictures around the input box or choose a place you want them and select "insert" on the uploaded picture waiting in the bar below, it's the same function.

You can access properties for them and can change the display size, ratio and add alt text. Double click on the image in the input field or select it and click the image button at the top. You then get an image properties form.

You can get to this by editing a post afterwards and clicking on the image. So you can override the forum's stretching trying to make it a nice forum displayed image. Note: you can only edit a post for 60 mins after posting, unless a member has over 1000 posts or is a subscriber.

I see! Thanks for all the info, I'll have a look around the image properties settings next time

This old image test thread might be a helpful read (just remembered about it) -

I THINK an image in a post is automatically sized to fit (and therefore a bit fuzzied.) Clicking on it makes it properly visible at full resolution.

There used to be a way to click on an uploaded image that was scanned and make it the size I want. This morning, I couldn't do that.

When you upload an image @Bodhiseed, if you double-click on the image with a mouse, or tap if if you use a mobile device or tablet, it should bring up the image menu.

Let me know if you cannot do it anymore and I'll look into it 🙂

I can't do it today either. Nothing happens when I double-click the image.

@DanielJUK, I still can't do it. I've been doing it for months with no problem until today.

It must be another glitch to add to your report @DanielJUK. I can't do it either  😞

Just tested this one as I often need to - you now seem to have to use ctrl and right click - then you get this:

Go for "edit image" and can get up the resizing window

 then it worked fine.

When I do that, I only have the option to crop, not resize under Edit.

ETA: Realized I have to click edit my post first (slaps forehead); then when I follow @gregory's instructions, it worked! Thanks for the info!

@DanielJUK, it would be nice to have it as it was before, especially for those who smartphones and not computers.

Yes thank you! It works on my end, as well. (Not to mention all the other issues have been resolved!)
