fire cat pickles Posted January 13, 2025 Author Posted January 13, 2025 Yes you may @Christina! Welcome to the group 🙂 The DoW Group is a fun and enlightening way to share how your decks can work for others, to highlight new or unique reading techniques and spreads, and perhaps to introduce new decks for other members.

Rachelcat Posted January 13, 2025 Posted January 13, 2025 Hi, fire cat! Thanks as always! Tarot of the Drowning World looks so enticingly mysterious and yet so floral! Looking forward to seeing more! This week for me will be Cosmic Cats Oracle and Mythical Cats Oracle Deck by RareDragons.com from Kickstarter. They are fantasy cats created by the artist, with a name, “the something,” and message on each. Cosmic Cats is the expansion deck, with cats representing planets, asteroids, and other spacey things. I’m going to shuffle them together as a 110-card deck. (The backs are different, but it will still work.) The set also has spread “cores,” cards that have 6 or 8 spread positions where the main cards are to be placed. You’ll see how they work when I use them this week. In the meantime, interview! What is your most important characteristic? Starbright, the North Star The deck can take me on a journey. What is your strength? Mythos, the Storyteller (this is the theme and backs for the Mythic Cats.) It tells stories in a fun but reflective way. Your weakness? Quaoar, the Formation But sometimes it can be a bit dense. It’s an oracle without form, not a tarot. (I’m going to have to disagree that it doesn’t have form. Because I think the core cards give the whole thing some organization.) What can I learn from you? Hyper, the Energy I know about hyper cats! (But not at the moment. My kitty is old and sleepy.) I can learn about raising my energy and how to use it properly. Because I’m old and sleepy too! How can I learn it? Sage, the Wise Ah, the dichotomy. I can learn about energy only when I have the wisdom of age to know how much it’s needed when I don’t have it. What will be the outcome of our work together? Eris, the Conflict We’ll disagree, but that will lead to more understanding for me. We’ll see!
Christina Posted January 13, 2025 Posted January 13, 2025 Here is my interview! I snagged this spread from the spreads forum. 1…………2 ………….3…… 1) What kind of deck are you? the Sun….I believe the deck is being very positive and saying “I so wanna work with you! It’ll be open and honest and we’ll have a great connection 2) Who am I according to you? the World….a happy ending, winning, you are happy to be paired with me and know that we will make a great team 3) Our connection Ace of Wands…our connection with be full of creativity and lots of inspiration. We’ll come up with new ideas and break through obstacles.
Natural Mystic Guide Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 The Fortune Teller's MahJongg by Derek Walters and cards illustrated by Amanda Barlow. The standard reading that I am learning uses 13 cards. See configuration here. The use of winds/directions is different than that of western tradition. (not crazy making for me because I play mahjong). So there is a center card -- which is the crux of either the subject of the reading or the answer to a specific query. Then 3 cards in each of the four directions going from the bottom counter clock-wise. East; South; West; and North. My center card today was the 2 of Circles 'Pine'. It is significant that this card, 'Pine' also appeared in two other places in the same reading. One of the unique features of this divination system is that there are four of each card. Three suits: Bamboos; Circles; and Wan (characters). 7 honors cards -- 3 dragons and 4 winds. 8 Guardian cards. So it is not unusual to have more than one of the same card/tile come up in a reading. "At the Centre, the Pine shows determination and success in the face of opposition. In matters of the heart ... the Pine reveals the gentle giant ... it shows strength ... through patient determination." This is interesting because it sounds a lot like the Nine of Wands. This is the card for next week in the Tarot Netivot system. I am working at that weekly reading right now for the week of the Waning Moon.

Bodhiseed Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 Thank you Firecat, and welcome @Christina! I'm in this week with the Gill Tarot paired the Circle Deck. . All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us. ― J.R.R. Tolkien Intellectually, we all know that we will die, that we will lose the things and people we love one day. But knowing it doesn't mean our hearts will embrace it. Lemony Snicket wrote that it is always a surprise when it happens: "It is like walking up the stairs to your bedroom in the dark, and thinking there is one more stair than there is. Your foot falls down, through the air, and there is a sickly moment of dark surprise as you try and readjust the way you thought of things." The Hanged Man tries to prepare us for those moments, giving us a chance to feel our powerlessness over certain situations. Thus, the Surrender card advises we need to stop fighting reality and accept it. If and when we do, we'll know to tread with more care and attention.
Christina Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 I did a spread this morning using my deck. It’s a 3 card spread. 1) Embrace-the Sun the sun shows a girl with her arms up towards the sky, she is happy. The sun brings good news, luck, and vibes. I embrace the positive energy that the sun brings. 2) Accept- knight of cups the knight of cups shows a young cowboy sitting alone while holding flowers as if to give them to a lady. His horse waits in the background. I need to accept the love offered to me in my life, instead of pushing it away. 3)Let go- High Priestess shows a beautiful woman with her eyes closed as if in meditation. She wears a moon symbol on her forehead. She represents psychic ability and dreams. The spiritual realm. I think this is tellling me to let go of any blocks I may have to my intuition and open myself to any messages I may receive.
