A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

Hi, everyone!  Thanks @fire cat pickles as always!

This week will be another newish oracle (it’s copyright 2025), Alchemist’s Oracle: Elixirs for Personal Growth & Wellbeing by Zoe Sadler, a Blue Angel deck.  It’s a black and white deck (some cards have a white background, some black; backs are in color) with whimsical illustrations of bottles with tags and alchemical symbols in the background.  Some are real items, like dandelion root, some are invented, like dragon’s breath.  (The book has a cute rhyming warning not to make or consume any of the potions.)  48 cards.  The book has an affirmation along with further info on each card.

Let’s wash, shuffle, and interview.

What is your most important characteristic?  A Wish, air

The deck deals more with what could be than what is.

What is your strength?  Bird Song, gold

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings?

The deck sings about optimism and overcoming obstacles.

Your weakness?  Dandelion Root, gold

It might focus too much on the positive to give an accurate idea of reality.

What can you teach me?  Dead Sea Salt, salt

Alchemical salt represents purified matter.

It teaches using physical (or imaginary physical) items to illuminate to emotional states.

How can I learn it?  Wormwood, earth

Bitterness, negativity

I can best learn from this deck by embracing its positive spin on things and letting go of bitterness and negativity.

What will be the outcome of our work together?  Mermaid’s Song, diamond

Book says diamond is feminine spirit.  I would say impenetrable hardness.

I’ll appreciate the deck’s siren song and its hard truths.

Pretty much from the beginning of last week = right away, I had to put the Celtic Fairies Tarot aside -

and reach for something - ANYTHING DIFFERENT and a little more substantial for my daily draws.

Anything different turned out to be the Crow Tarot, that was just in one of the bottom drawers of my desk.

And that was OK and will be used this week as well.

Referring back to my post above, - the images of the Celtic Fairies are RWS based and easy to recognize, BUT the "fluffyness" of the deck just did not cut it for me in a stressful week where important decisions had to be made.

In leu of "current affairs" LARGE investments had to be shifted out of harm's way and into other areas of the market, charities had to be re-examined and personnel decisions had to be made.

And I needed to see that reflected in my daily draws.

The Crows Tarot was "just there"

Other decks I have  would have been just as good,

The fairies just were not.....

I am bringing these with me for my 12 day intensive Mahjong international tournaments and cruise.  Hoping that I have time for some more study.  It's a great system and I'm really enjoying it.  It gives me valuable insights into Chinese esoteric culture and deepens my game play.IMG_3536.thumb.png.369afb6435b54867883b61740f1980ea.png

Lean forward into your life. Begin each day as if it were on purpose.
–Mary Anne Radmacher

Salamanders like damp, dark places, so they often hide in log piles used for firewood. Because they scamper out when a fire is lit, people in older times thought they were born from fire (thus their association with this element). Though their fiery birth is a myth, the salamander's quick exit is an apt symbol for our movement when we're inspired to create or do something. Utah is known for its National Park of Arches, formed from sandstone by weathering and erosion. Over time, the same forces that created these arches will continue to widen them until they collapse. Likewise, the energy and enthusiasm from inspiration will also fade. As Bruce Garrabrandt cautioned, “Creativity doesn’t wait for that perfect moment. It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones.”

I have decided to add daily transits with a true daily draw. I am using traditional planets and the most exact aspect from each day, or the most fitting decan, combined with my Card-a-Day. I will try this out, hopefully I can keep it up! It will require me to draw cards in advance since I spend 48 hours away from the house at times.

My daily is here:
