Mi-Shell Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Hi Fire Cat!♥ I will try my luck this week with the Anieth Stone Nature deck
Mi-Shell Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Well, to get myself up to speed again with this deck, I just re-read my ooooold thread: Now I am not so sure, I want to open that strange pandora/ ogham / Gaelic box again..... If only the images were not so interesting......
Bodhiseed Posted November 11 Posted November 11 I'm in this week with the New Era Elements Tarot paired with the Tao Oracle. Thank you Fire cat!💓 (Waves to Mi-shell ) New Era Elements, Nine of Earth; Tao Oracle, Hexagram 29 (The Abysmal) A stable mind is like the hub of a wheel. The world may spin around you, but the mind is steady. —B.K.S. Iyengar The rough, dirty hands in this card illustrate that good fortune doesn't usually float down out of the sky like a feather. Contentment and stability aren't just about getting something but knowing how to sustain it when disruptive challenges come. If we don't put in the work, we won't have any skills to rely on later (think of those who inherit a chunk of money only to squander it away). Hexagram 29, The Abysmal, warns of a deluge of problems headed our way. To steer through the storm, we need a firm hold on our mind and our conduct. Letting our emotions take over will only feed panic and confusion; we need to stay grounded in the present and centered on what is important. As Iyengar stated, "When stability becomes a habit, maturity and clarity follow."
Mi-Shell Posted Wednesday at 04:57 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:57 PM Yes, @Bodhiseed♥ The images are exactly, why I opened that box again! Here are the ones for today's reading: However, no time right now to do a write- up..... maybe later this evening.....
Rachelcat Posted Wednesday at 09:50 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:50 PM I’m here, I’m here! A couple of days late and a couple of dollars short! But I’m going to forge ahead to catch up instead of skipping a week. This week for me will be Tarot Arnoux & Amphoux 1801, a repro by Yves Reynaud. Brand new to me, published in 2018. The original was published in Marseilles, and the info card points out that it has “AN-X” on the 2 Denier, meaning year 10 of the French revolutionary calendar. It’s a pretty standard Marseilles deck, with the publisher’s name and “France” on many of the cards. I’m almost over my aversion to Marseilles swords, so I should do fine with it this week. Let’s see what the interview says about that! What is your most important characteristic? II Baston I think BA is for baston? The deck is all about action. I should go to it with questions about what to do, not what to think or feel. What is your strength? Le Ivgement Even though I think the deck is kind of standard, it’s really a different evolution or revolution of the form. Your weakness? Tenperance A major pair. With the first two cards, this means the deck isn’t well-balanced or a happy medium. It’s more full of energy and gung ho. What can I learn from you? Valet de Denier I can learn about learning about the physical, tactile aspects of cards. How can I learn it? Ivstice I have to be balanced because the cards aren’t. I can learn by being open to two sides of the issue. Both have something to teach me. What will be the outcome of our work together? Le Batelevr I will start to believe again in the magic of the cards. And/or I’ll feel very comfortable and competent reading with them. Sounds good to me!
fire cat pickles Posted Thursday at 01:14 AM Author Posted Thursday at 01:14 AM Welcome back @Rachelcat 😀
Mi-Shell Posted Sunday at 09:35 PM Posted Sunday at 09:35 PM I did put 2 more readings onto the thread. I am kind of curious, what you guys think of the reallllly weird card interpretations given by the deck creator of the Stone Tarot....
Bodhiseed Posted yesterday at 12:15 AM Posted yesterday at 12:15 AM @Mi-Shell, those booklet meanings are bizarre. The creator of the deck wasn't coloring outside the lines, but in a whole other coloring book that doesn't resemble tarot at all!
fire cat pickles Posted yesterday at 01:06 AM Author Posted yesterday at 01:06 AM Bizarre was the same word I was going to use. When I get a new deck with a booklet that veers from meanings I'm not familiar with I will often stick with what I'm familiar with or use imagery from the cards to guide me in my interpretations (or both). I just don't have the patience to learn a whole knew system!
Mi-Shell Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Thank you, @Bodhiseedand @fire cat pickles! Yes, Bizarre is a very good word for that booklet. and it really has nothing much to do with Tarot. Many of the discriptions sound like an angry vendetta - no idea against whom..... I usually do not follow these booklets, but sometimes see, iffff maybe the text points me around one of my own blind spots. ♥ M.
