A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at any time—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

Ok peoples,  this will be it for the Hadar on my list for DOTW! I have not gotten to it yet 😞 Like everyone else this season has got me running around like a rat in a maze.

A few days off starting tomorrow so I'll be fishing this one out of my cabinet.

I have some time to research some Hadar stuff in the meantime.

Hope you have some down time to relax soon, Fire cat! 💓 I'm in this week with the Songs for the Journey Home paired with the Magic Neko Deck.

Your body always speaks — not in words, but in signals. Tiredness, cravings, tension — it’s not weakness. It’s wisdom. Listen before it starts to scream.
― Barbara O'Neill

We tend to use the body much more than we listen to it, at least until things get so bad the pain is all we notice. This card recognizes that we can get so caught up in things we enjoy or need to do, that we neglect to care for this amazing vehicle we ride along in. Tuning in to the natural rhythms of our body and honoring its messages is necessary; the mind is very good at shutting it down when it decides we must do just one more thing or complete a task. Turning a deaf ear will be to our detriment. The cosmic kitty on the Six of Clubs suggests that new behaviors (such as listening to our body), will at first feel unnatural, but this is normal. As we learn to adapt to what our body needs, what is strange will eventually become routine.

Poor Fire Cat! ♥ became a racing Cat.......

This week I am going to use my handpainted Ironwing Tarot  - conceived by lorena Babcock Moore.Ironwingsomemayorsesize.jpg.ef2d1778a3b40af8792cab55a2f33983.jpg

On the net I just found our ooooold study thread on the AT archives:

https://www.tarotforum.net/threads/ironwing-study-group-index.72523/

Just reading what I wrote about the Magician is explaining Everything I see and feel about these cards and images.

Finally I had found something that shows, what trance is like.....

Wow, beautiful decks this week!  For me this week will be a little satirical text-based deck given to me by a tarot society friend, Spiritual AF: 99 Inspirational Cards for People Who F**king Need Some Inspiration.  So be prepared for some salty language!  Some messages are sincere, others are a little cheeky, others are confrontational.  I’m not sure how these will mesh with the season cards, but I guess I’ll just look at two or three cards of advice a day and see what happens.  Let’s start with a short interview.

Monday1.thumb.jpg.367104e877a7713a9d1909f5bec3f2cf.jpg

What is your greatest strength?  Accept the good in your life and know you’re a F**king delight.

The deck has positive messages throughout.  It helps me see the good in things.

What is your greatest weakness?  You don’t have to rebuild a relationship with everyone you have forgiven.

It also has more negative messages.  Sometimes the best advice is to let go of negative things.

What can I learn from you?  Stick with the people who pull magic out of you, not the madness.

The deck will focus on relationships as well as mindsets.

What will be the outcome of our work together?  Beautiful things happen when you distance yourself from negative ****.

A combination of the first two.  Being open doesn’t mean being open to negativity.

All makes perfect sense so far.

@Mi-Shell, I don't know if I'd ever be able to read the Ironwing, but the artwork is STUNNING!

@Rachelcat, the language might be a little salty, but the advice is sound!

Welcome back @Mi-Shell and @Rachelcat!

I'm a little late updating the thread this week! About to get out the Hadar...

Hadar. In italics is the translation of Hadar’s Le Triage Thématique, and in quotes are Hadar’s interpretations of the individual cards (thank you Google Translate!)

image.thumb.jpeg.e4ead04bf2a28f00ae676e2d342fc163.jpeg

1 - Two of Swords It represents the consultant and the elements he possesses or those he lacks in relation to his question. “Confident expectation, guiding inspiration for pure hearts, revelation of the path to follow.”

The Two of Swords is the universal “decision-making” card. I have decided to start practice on the banjo again. It has been several years, so it is beginning from square-one and starting out slow. I lack basic skills I once possessed, so it is the “slow-roll” (literally!) for now. Curious how this card actually looks like a banjo!

2 - Ace of Cups It represents the environment, the person who intervenes or will enter his life, and the elements that the environment can offer her in relation to the issue. “The birth of a great love and the yearning of a loving heart.”

This is me, finding a new love for the instrument, a new inspiration. I was recently asked what hobbies I have, and I realized that I don’t have any outside of music. The outlet I have for music is what I do for work. I needed to pursue an interest not related to generating income. My banjo has been sitting at the house gathering dust for far too long.

3 - Knight of Coins It symbolizes the question, or more precisely, what the consultant particularly wants to know, in relation to the theme or question asked. “Profitable trip, ongoing investments, movement of funds, harvesting the crop.”

This will require investing the time in practice. I will possibly be purchasing a higher quality instrument, in time but those run in the thousands. There is also the issue of taking lessons at some point in the future. Investing personal time will be the “ongoing investment” for now.

4 - VIII Justice It crystallizes and explains the result. It must be interpreted while taking into account the following factors jointly the first and second cards.  “The principle of the organic law of functioning and the conservative power.”

It will be imperative to follow the rules and be patient with myself. There are strict practices with banjo. It will be very important to stick to the script, to practice as prescribed.

5 - 7 of Coins This explains the long-term consequences that will result from the outcome described by the fourth card. “Success and healthy growth in income, good investment news, or approval of a loan."

This is an unexpected outcome card. It did occur to me that I could at some point make money from playing, but I was thinking years down the road (I do live in bluegrass country!) not immediate. There are no promises, but if I stick to the “perfect practice makes perfect performance” principle, it may come through to fruition eventually.

@fire cat pickles, I'm happy to see the Hadar in action and enjoyed your reading. I hope you will take Pema Chodron's advice to "start where you are," both in your ability and the time and instrument that you have to work with. I'm almost 65 and decided to learn Tai Chi. It took a while to get past the "I'm horrible at this and just want to be good at it," but once I did, I found it much more enjoyable. Have fun! 💓

@fire cat pickles

I very much enjoyed this reading and hope the Banjo and you will become ONE!

- You write about the lack of hobbies-? Isn't Tarot and Tarot study  a hobby for you?

This is the plan. The trick is to go slowly and not overdo it.

It still is, but music will and always will be much more of an intellectual and lifestyle oriented. Tarot is a personal and spiritual practice, less of a hobby at this point.
