A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Thank you Fire cat! I'm in this week with the Greenwood Tarot paired with the Rune Cards.

Greenwood Tarot, Two of Wands; Rune Cards, Gift (Gebo)

Doing something to support someone else puts our problems in some perspective and in connection to all the other human challenges in the world; we return to our personal challenges with a vigor and awareness of our connectedness in this human web of interbeing.
—Kamilah Majied

Things are good, but could they be better? This figure must decide how to move forward - to continue on the current course or to expand their goals. While expanding might improve our bank account, we might find it causes deficits elsewhere (time, energy, relationships, peace of mind). Gebo's (Gift) rune poem reads:

Giving is for men glory and acclaim, support and honor,
and for the needy a help and sustenance that is otherwise lacking.

Gebo suggests that we consider the motive for our desire for expansion - is it need or greed? Perhaps it may help pay some bills or could create jobs for those who need them. But if it's all about accumulating more, more, more, that's a craving that will never be satisfied. It may boost our ego, but it will not be a useful gift to our well-being.

Hi Everyone! ♥

Wit snowy cold weather I am yearning for a bit of color in my life and decided on the DreamRaven Tarot for this week.

81Algh4f7DL._AC_UF10001000_QL80_.thumb.jpg.4dabfcec98c96b64103012277c294a33.jpg

Interestingly the Queen of Swords is my card of the day.

It aptly matches, how I feel today.

Trees all barren, ice crystals in the air.....

But the knowledge, that after these bleak days, eventually spring will come.

Wow, this Monday got away from me!  Hi, all!  This week will be Tarot of Jane Austen and Le Beau Monde Regency Tarot Deck, both deck of the week repeats for me.

Tarot of Jane Austen is now republished by Lo Scarabeo, and the Llewellyn site says it is available today.  It’s now called Jane Austen Tarot; the cards now have the title in a bar at the bottom instead of the old-fashioned multiple languages; and I assume it’s in a hard box.  Not sure if includes the full-sized book.  In my original version, two of the aces (pics of books) were switched on the cards from what is in the book.  (I blanked out the titles with a sharpie.)  Not sure if that’s corrected in the new version.  Attached is my list of the scenes depicted.  I made up the short descriptions, trying to use the words of the novels whenever I could.  Suits are candlesticks, teacups, quills, and coins.  Courts are maiden, knight, lady, and lord.

Le Beau Monde Regency Tarot Deck is made of Regency-era fashion illustrations.  It’s a pips deck, but I like to read with those!  (Although the few tilted candle flames make me twitch a little!)  Suits are candles, parasols, fans, and reticules.  Courts are debutante, bluestocking, duchess, and dowager.

Two interviews!

Monday1.thumb.jpg.339c32545ec2cc7b1d3bec025de0b5e5.jpg

What is your most important characteristic?  X The Wheel, Ball at the Crown (Emma)

The deck is a true divination tool.  It will help me know what ups and downs are coming.  And it might mix things up a bit.

What is your strength?  Lord (king) of Candlesticks (wands), Frederick Wentworth (Persuasion)

It’s bold and strong and is not afraid to do what it comes here to do.  Eventually.  It took eight years for Wentworth to come back and face his feelings for Anne.

Your weakness?  VI The Lovers, Darcy between Caroline and Lizzy (Pride and Prejudice)

I have to choose to love the deck by overlooking its faults and loving its quirks.

What can you teach me?  IX The Hermit, Mr. Bennet (Pride and Prejudice)

It can teach me to get back to personal reading, both novel reading and tarot reading!

How can I learn it?  XX Judgement, Emma happy ending.  All the characters get what they wanted in the end.

I can get back to reading by aiming high.  I can achieve anything I want to.  I just need to know what I want!

What will be the outcome of our work together?  3 Teacups, Mary, Maria, and Julia join in a glee (Mansfield Park)

We will harmonize well, at least at a superficial level.

Interesting, 4 majors, 1 court, and 1 minor.  So it must be important?

Monday2.thumb.jpg.041d8de0c69edf9ff156d5fb675685d8.jpg

What is your most important characteristic?  Dowager (king) Candles (wands)

Same card in the same position as the other interview!

The deck is bold and strong and gets things done.  It looks like she’s writing letters, a way women could get things done at that time.

What is your strength?  XVIII The Moon

She uses her telescope to look at the sky as well as the ships at sea.

It is a good deck for reading about fantasy and what-ifs.

Your weakness?  Two of Parasols (cups)

The deck doesn’t have any men, so it’s not very emotionally balanced!

What can you teach me?  Bluestocking (knight) Fans (swords)

Wow, SO MUCH air/intellect!  Knight is air; bluestocking is a word for educated women (who weren’t afraid for people to know they were educated); fans are air; position is about teaching.

The deck can teach me to learn things deeply, and be an intellectual if I want to!

How can I learn it?  Seven of Reticules (coins)

The best way to be an intellectual is to enjoy (7) things (reticules) that I enjoy.

What will be the outcome of our work together?  VI The Lovers

I will love the deck, and we’ll get along great together!

Ok then!  Let the week of love begin!

It's a hard card-sized "coffin" box. It only has a multi-language LWB, but the LWB does include a short description of the scene from the respective novel for each card, which was a delightful surprise (but I did download your file anyway - many thanks for it!). The cards are borderless and linen finish :classic_love: Ace of Cups is "Persuasion", and Ace of Swords is "Emma", which is the same as written in the LWB. I was a bit on the fence about getting it, but now I'm really happy I did!

Thanks for the report!  I'll continue to switch the aces because Emma seems to be about everybody realizing their feelings and Persuasion is about, well, persuasion and misunderstandings and understandings.

Linen sounds like it goes well with the subject!

Glad you're enjoying it!
