I’m in with my brand new Tattoo Tarot: Ink & Intuition.

Hi crew!  Better late than never!

As a break from mid-century esoteric, and finally acting on @Tanga’s information from back in April!, I’m going to try to read with dominoes.  I got a new set with colorful pips the other day.  (I don’t like that the 1s and 2s are both red while all the other numbers have their own colors.  And there aren’t even any blue ones.  A fine-point blue sharpie might be in my future.)  28 items.

I’ll be using interps from the site Tanga recommended, https://www.tarotteachings.com/domino-divination-how-dominoes-can-tell-your-fortune.html.  I think I’ve come up with a spread:  draw one and then a second, and if the second has a match to the first, use it too, and keep going until there are no matches.  I’ll try it!  In the meantime, a short interview.

 Monday 1.jpg

1.  What is your strength?  Five-Blank, Think before you speak.

The dominoes can help me think things through before I act on them.

2.  Your weakness?  Six-Five, Perseverance

But I probably won’t want to keep using them very long.

3.  What can I learn from you?  Double Blank, Reset, pause

I can learn to really take a break if I need to.  They will remind me when I need to pause.

4.  What will be the outcome of our work together?  Six-Four, Temper and tension

I'll get fed up with the dominoes or interps and will want to give up on them in a huff.

We’ll see!

Welcome back @Rachelcat!

Interesting to have a different kind of oracle in the group this week 😀

I’m not into tattoos at all, but this little deck - I have the pocket Tattoo Tarot - really turned my head. I can’t go past a mini deck without giving it a second look. This one has a woodcut feel to it. I love the clean, crisp images and the bright colours. I haven’t read with it yet, but I had a look at the structure. It’s Marseilles-based (Justice = 8, Strength = 11, and pips without scenes) but with the odd RWS overlay. If you look at the 7 of Coins: there is an hourglass in the middle, suggesting the RWS idea of waiting for the right time. There is also a playing card feel to the whole deck, with the suit of coins featuring diamonds etc. Really love the energy of this deck. The box features the Eye of Providence, which gives it an early 20th-century feel.

Thank you Fire cat! I'm in with the Sasuraibito Tarot paired with the Soul Cards 1 & 2.

Sasuraibito Tarot, King of Cups; Soul Cards, Held in the Light

Let us then try what Love will do.

—William Penn

This King, when someone troubled shows up, will invite them out on the porch and offer tea or coffee. They'll sit in rocking chairs, and the King will allow them to pour their heart out. The emotions of others don't rattle him; he sees his purpose as a supporter and encourager rather than a fixer. Open-minded and nonjudgmental, he offers others a soft place to fall. The Soul Card made me think of the Quaker expression, "I will hold you in the Light." Philip Gulley explains: "To hold someone in the Light is to stand beside them when they are unable to stand for themselves...our willingness to work for the betterment and well-being of another." How different this is than asking if someone is right with the Lord! A calm, steady presence can help stabilize most folks much better than any reprimand.

I love what everyone is working with this week! 🤩

We missed you last week!

So, most of you know I usually post in one of my journals, but it has been so long since I posted a reading I thought I would share in our thread this time!

An update: I have had several health scares the last few months. All of them have turned out to be nothing! After been poked, prodded, scanned and examined I have been officially found fit as a fiddle. Additionally, I have decided to rent out my house and move in with my mother after my stepfather passed away in June. This is not for financial reasons. My best friend and his family of 4 (5 next week!) were going to get evicted and needed a place to stay and we (my mother and I) felt it best that they rent from me. Also, my mother cannot take care of this (large) house by herself after her husband is now gone. (I know, a lot to process but now you know why I have been absent for a while!) This was the cliffnotes version ;)

Onto my reading.

Turning over a new leaf. what can I expect this upcoming week as I regroup, recommit and refocus.

I got Page of Wands (tarot de le rea)

delareavaletbatons.jpg

Staying grounded (note the earth symbol he provides) as I start out fresh. Pages are the sentinels of new beginnings, after all. At times I will feel overwhelmed but I just need to keep my eyes on what my goals are. I often see the Page of Wands as the perpetual student. I need to approach my next project from this viewpoint. Get out paper and pencil, write it all down, rinse and repeat, get it in my muscle memory. If I have it memorized both physically and mentally I can't go wrong. I can't guide those I am taking on a journey unless I can first take myself there. What's the saying, "you can't transmit what you yourself haven't got?" something like that. There is something of a Hermit-like quality to this Page of Wands. S/he is almost like a baby-Hermit. This reminds me to take time for myself as well.

What a compassionate, kind man you are Fire cat. I'm so glad the health scares turned out to be nothing! ❤️

Hugs @fire cat pickles , you are very kind to that family and also I am glad you were checked out and all was okay ultimately.

I think staying grounded through whatever storms come into our lives, is such a life skill. It's so helpful and an excellent emotional coping strategy.

I am sorry you had such a difficult time with all the things that went on and good thoughts with you animated-smileys-hug-002

@fire cat pickles Thank you for sharing your reading. I can relate to the health scare — I had a similar scenario last year. I’m glad you are ok! You are lucky to have your mother so close to you. Wishing you all the best with the move!

In other news, I did my first reading with the Tattoo Tarot. When I read with a deck for the first time, I always let the deck tell me what it wants me to know. I drew the attached cards, with the Ace of Swords as base card. Until I started researching the symbols in the cards, I had no idea that tattoo has its own iconography. The hand issuing a letter with a rose bud underneath is, apparently, a standard theme, often associated with sailors, perhaps receiving or keeping a secret message of love (this is very strange because last night, two days after this draw, I had a dream in which a message of love was clearly relayed to me). The 3 of Coins shows the guild symbols of roofers and stonemasons - makes sense for the traditional RWS meaning of the card (here the deck cleverly combines the visuals of the Marseilles with the meaning of the RWS). The Ace emphasises the aspect of communication and messages. I will get recognition for my work, my dedication, my commitment. Funnily, the setting of the dream I just mentioned was my work place, but its atmosphere was much lighter and I was very happy (not always the case there in waking life) and in the company of the person who relayed the love message.
