*Gasp!* I want that! 😍

I just wish it wasn't nearly $400 after shipping and currency conversion 😭

Yeah, it was a lot more than I'm usually willing to fork over at one time, and the only way I could justify it was to say it was my big Yule gift.

The individual decks themselves can be had with or without the books, and the price varies accordingly. But I think the books are totally worth it; they're almost separate works of art in their own right. They have a very literary quality, fairly unlike the standard guidebook fare.

@blue_crow_laura I'll always get the companion books for decks if they're available. There's only so much info that can fit in a LWB and I love being able to read about the artist's choices! I just wish I hadn't already got myself a yule gift lol (a nice little crystal haul too 😁)

For anyone who loves MJ Cullinane's Crow Tarot, there's a second printing coming of her oracle deck, the Urban Crow Oracle. I just preordered mine...woot! 🙌

I've never seen it in person, but I've seen flip-throughs, and I feel like I'll like it as much as or more than the Crow Tarot. The imagery seems more intentional, you know?

Anyone fancy enabling me on the Forest of Enchantment? I'm so tempted...

Not sure if you’ve purchased it yet…..but I adore it! I have the Victorian Fairy tarot by Weatherstone as well (my first deck and my soul deck…. fun story as to how it arrived in my life all by itself LOL) Anyway, they read together beautifully.  What I love about the Forest deck….colors and art are detailed but leave space for intuition, focus on nature and pagan perspectives, great for pathworking if you are into that, and the book is lovely/informative as well.

Anyone want to help my decision process? I want to choose between a few decks this spring/summer and can’t make up my mind. Any enablers?

*Sun and Moon Tarot

*Gaian Tarot

*Triple Goddess tarot

*Mystical Cats tarot (I have 2 Lunea Weatherstone decks and LOVE them but I am not necessarily a cat person. That said, I am curious how the deck reads)

thanks in advance for any thoughts and impressions!

I can only speak personally to experience with the Sun and Moon Tarot, which has been fabulous. The imagery is both friendly and inspiring. I love the visual echoes to the Thoth deck, which feels like home to me. I have the copy in a tin, which is wonderful for travel.

I have never worked with any of the others but I do have an eye on the Gaian pretty continually 👀 It’s just so gorgeous and wholesome!

This helps! I have been looking at the tin version….do you find it’s large enough? I’d like something in a tin to add to my collection. Currently I have one tin deck but it’s a lenormand. Thanks!

Personally, yes 🙂 If you prefer tarot size, I recommend just getting the full-size version... but I tend to prefer deck sizes that are a bit smaller.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but right now Barnes & Noble is having a sale to compete with Amazon's Prime Day, and all Liminal 11 tarot decks are 50% off ($12.50).

I'm going to have difficulty enabling this one; it's just too minimalist for my personal taste, and the colours are stark. With that said, if anything is going to suit the mini size without loss of detail, the minimalist deck is it, and a mini deck is always useful. The strong colours would probably work well if you're reading in reduced light. If you know the cards well and are bringing a lot of baggage to your reading, the minimalist interpretation might help you get back to basics. (Personally, I prefer a lot of detail to help prompt more nuances).

What is it that attracts you about this one?

That's such a beautiful deck! What a shame its OOP 😞

I've been doing a bit of searching to see what I could find, far too many were Way over what I want to spend though!

I did discover the Anima Mundi and the Oriens Tarot which are both beautiful. They both fit the kind of feel I'm after. Has anyone used either of these before? What are they like?

You might like the Waterhouse Oracle. It's rather gorgeous. I haven't purchased it though so can't speak to its quality.

The Pre-Raphaelite Tarot might be worth a look - The Pre-Raphaelite Tarot review – Louise Barescat (wordpress.com)

The Anima Mundi is stunning... do you want people, or animals, or both?

Gather round, Dear Readers, I'm going to reveal an heirloom. 😁

Already have a Victorian Romantic? I'm not the kind of person who gets every deck in every edition, but even I have two.
I don't have one in a wooden box, though.

The pre-orders for the Large Format edition are already closed, but this is the standard size, the easily-shuffled, regular deck. And it's available in a wooden box for the first time ever.
Feast thine eyes:

This one is going to be a bit more diverse, and there will be more cold stamping. Read about the changes to this edition here:

Crap!  I knew I shouldn't have looked.  I was just experiencing buyer's remorse for ordering the 5 Cent Tarot and 2 Cent Oracle decks.  This post pandemic period is going to do me in.  Thanks!

I'm considering buying the She Wolfe Tarot as well as the Tarot of the Holy Spectrum.

I have to space out my indie deck purchases because I don't have a lot of money to throw at once. So while I want both these decks, I don't know which one to buy first. Whichever I buy first, it'll take me many months to afford the other deck.

Can anyone help me decide?

WELL - I own neither - but since you ask, after extensive googling - of those two I'd go for the She Wolfe in a heartbeat. It's more appealing in appearance, and looks better thought out.

Thanks, gregory! I agree, the She Wolfe brings something different to the table while the Holy Spectrum is very RWS-ish. Now I'm definitely leaning towards purchasing the She Wolfe first.

Does anyone have the So Below deck? I just got the digital version and *oh my* I absolutely love it. The characters are just so 'relate-able'. I was looking for a deck more grounded in 'real world' people, with realistic art that includes older people and it delivers. I can see it's going to be a favorite. Do I need the physical deck?

I have the tin version! It's very adequate - the detail on the cards is nice and crisp and visible.

And it has its own personal Suit of Armour for those long-haul trips clattering around in your bag! I do love a tinned deck.

I do. And the As Above deck, its necessary sibling. You need to have both!

(Disclaimer: I don't often use either of them, but I'm very glad I have them, and anyway, I'm spreading myself thin between a lot of decks.)

I agree with her. I have  both and love them.

Same here.  I also have both and I love them.  I surprise myself by using the So Below deck more often as I'm not usually one for "realism" in my decks.  I like to escape and enjoy more fantasy or freaky decks.

Hey y’all! I need help deciding on a “Lenormand-like” deck! (Mods—please feel free to move this if there is a more suitable Lenormand thread for this.)

I am trying to decide between the Mildred Payne Pocket Oracle (I am quite charmed by the idea of the mini version but let me know if you are more into the poker sized cards), and the Maybe Lenormand.

I have really been enjoying getting more acquainted and comfortable with Lenormand, but I love the idea of more flexibility riffing off of the Lenormand tradition. 🙂

Posted (edited)

Mildred's fun, but with that one you're always guessing. Lenormand can be relied on. So it really depends which Lenormands you have already.
If you already have a good traditional learning deck that you enjoy using, get the Mildred. But if all you have are wonky novelty decks (Dreaming Way, etc.) get the Maybe.

Thank you for the advice, @katrinka! I use the Rana George deck quite a bit since obtaining it and really enjoy it. Not sure if this counts as a novelty deck—I use it with the basic 36 cards, swapping out the Gentleman and Lady cards if suitable for the query.

I lean toward the Mildred Payne deck but it is a little less affordable than the Maybe mass market edition 😉 do you prefer the mini or poker Mildred personally?
