Eric13 Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 Does anyone have any idea of the representation of what the Pyramids of Giza are in these two cards? The Pictoral Key... just mentions them for the Knight how he's passing the "mounds or pyramids". They are obviously pyramids, aligned exactly the way they are in Egypt. They stand on opposite sides of them, or the knight is on his horse. I know there is the Egyptian connection to tarot. These aren't talked about at all anywhere and there's got to be a reason for them. If anyone has any opinion or even a book to enlighten me with it would be appreciated.
DanielJUK Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 There is a nice old thread discussing them on AT here but the summary of the thread is that they are a bit of a mystery and no one really knows! Lot's of interesting things to learn from it though, @Bodhiseed wrote a great comment there suggesting they symbolise " an inspiration to explore new lands (representing new ideas and possibilities)". There are some comments from Mary Greer on the thread there as well. The mystery to me if they represent fire (with also the salamanders on their clothes), why are they seen more here than the Queen and King of Wands? The Queen has something yellow just off picture in the background, they *could* also be pyramids. The King does not have them in at all but the salamanders form a whole Ouroboros in his card. Are they about exploring new lands, getting out of your comfort zone with your passions in the early courts of Wands? hmmm
JohnLetter Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Perhaps page has discovered this wand in the pyramid and trying to learn how to use it and it has been inspired. But the knight is more mature and interested in something else and not focused about the mysteries of the pyramids, because he can already know it and it is or just is important for him to meet new places and people, he wants to be in motion. 🤨😗
Eric13 Posted August 6, 2019 Author Posted August 6, 2019 @Ruby Jewel @DanielJUK @JohnLetter Thanks for the input and responses. I never even noticed the pyramids on the Queen. I like the inspiration to explore new lands. That really goes with Bothe the Knoght and the Page, and the Queen is outgoing also. Waite just touches on the pyramids in his Pictoral Key book. I was reading that over and noticed he said that about the Knight. I wasn't able to read all of the posts from AT but I will, thanks for the link. There's obviously an Egyptian connection with the Salamanders and pyramids though. It is funny though how the direction of the pyramids is also different in each picture. Maybe just PCS's artistic eye. Maybe they all accept death without any fear. The pyramids being tombs for the Kings to live in, or rise from in the afterlife with their new beginnings.
Divine Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 Hello all, Im going to leave some in-put here. In some contexts the pyramids meant for me "creations made through passion" (ex: a finished art project - a established business) A combination of passion+ideas+possibilities+action becoming a physical "Creation" a Manifestation - An eternal manifestation.
