Oh, yay! I'm so glad, haha — I'm so glad it's not just me who loves this deck, @evilgrapefruit !! And I'm very glad they're that much closer to funding.

 

I really, *really* hope they can not only fund but make their stretch goal, because i'd dearly love to see these gorgeous additional cards!!!

Lots of Kickstarter decks get celebrated here, though, fwiw! (Not to mention the fact this forum held a KS, of course.) If any of them are going to be penalized for Kickstarter's malfeasance, I just hope it's not this particular one, lol. 😉  Celebrate the subversive queer erotica black magic deck!

I would - but getting it to the UK would almost double the cost - postage costs, import fees (which they charge on postage AND PACKING !!!) and the £8 on top from the post office.

 

- and yes, and I have backed MANY decks in the past - but when they just fired three people for running a union - that is NOT OK.

@Venus Rising Yes!!! Isn't it stunning! I saw they are finally over their first stretch goal which means these amazing extra Devil cards will be included in the mix: 

 

 

I'm so excited!! I really hope they make the next stretch goal. With 10 days left, I think they can. I am actually not super fond of the card backs — I think the bright red of the pentagram doesn't match the smoky gray mood of this deck — but I would love to have a bag for these cards. 

 

Also, I'm glad they *finally* started putting large images of the cards on the kickstarter. It really seems like the difference between getting people to pay attention to this deck is night and day when they actually get a closer look at these card images.

 

Also @gregory I hadn't heard that at all about Kickstarter and union busting, but I agree that's very sketchy. This Vice article from today says Kickstarter is claiming they also fired 3 non-Union employees since the union was created, and it's just coincidence, but I do think (as someone whose workplace just unionized!!!!) that forming a union probably, to some extent, irrevocably changes your relationship with your managers, and it's likely that really did play a role, at least in the firing of the woman who was put on a "performance improvement plan," yeesh.   https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/evjb47/workers-accuse-kickstarter-of-union-busting-in-federal-complaint

anyone have issue with the temperance card ?

 

is it about how the witches were prosecuted in history? I read it,, but then the temperance card threw me off.

I'm so glad you asked about an individual card, @HOLMES! especially this one because i was just thinking today about how much i loved this card!

 

 

I think a lot of the cards in this deck are about subverting their original meanings, in the tradition of queer fantasy (and black magic, i assume!), so to me this card is pretty literally the opposite of temperance; She seems to be the god of Eros, and she's not doing anything in moderation, she's giving herself fully and lasciviously to the orgy of excess around her.

 

That's my interpretation at least!

in that regard ,, I guess it is ok eheh. 

I wonder though if it will be an actual sacfrice,, or just a mock sacfrice to release all their inhabitions..

@holmes my money is on the latter. You don't really see any violence happening in the image, and I think the deck generally seems to be embracing black magic as an erotic enhancement and titillating subversion rather than a source of actual violence and cruelty.
