More Kickstarter decks for your thoughts

I deliberated over backing this deck for some time... I have Emma Zhang's first creation, the Dream Vision Tarot, which I love, and like you I'm always on the lookout for a deck inspired by Ancient Egypt. However, I realised that I didn't love the minors enough to make the investment so ultimately decided to let it go. They just didn't seem to have the same depth as the Dream Vision Tarot does. I'm going to back this deck as well, I think it's gorgeous. I also love that the creator made a greyhound themed deck; I wouldn't use it myself but greyhounds (and sighthounds in general) do have a special place in my heart and I always appreciate it when people raise awareness of them!

More Kickstarter decks for your thoughts

Just backed the Sacred Spring Tarot. 'Sacred Spring' is a translation of the name of the publication printed by the Vienna Secession movement artists that inspired this deck. They included Klimt and Moser, who were in turn influenced by Art Nouveau. I have a weak spot not only for this art style but for minors that lie somewhere in the middle between pips and fully illustrated. The artist fulfilled several past Kickstarters, including The Cards Drawn Tarot, which was poker sized. Sacred Spring Tarot is tarot sized. (The artist is in the US, but for customs purposes, I'm not sure whether the decks will be shipped from there or directly from a printer's.)

Deck of the Week Sign-up Thread, Week 466: Jun. 8 - Jun. 14

Of course you can still join! I haven't been online for the last few days unfortunately... Welcome to the group @Marina 🙂 The DOTW Group is a fun and enlightening way to share how your decks can work for others, to highlight new or unique reading techniques and spreads, and perhaps to introduce new decks for other members.

More Kickstarter decks for your thoughts

I missed out on a cool ancient egypt inspired deck 😞 The Dream of Nile tarot. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dreamvisiontarot/dream-of-nile-tarot-golden-horus-edition I’ve been casually on the lookout for an ancient egyptian mythology inspired deck since two or three years into starting tarot but never found quite the right deck. I saw this one on a youtube video (the previous edition) and they mentioned the new one’s kickstarter. But the video was 2 months old. This is what I get for falling out of the loop with tarot! Hopefully she makes another edition. It might be a while though since she has an Alice in Wonderland tarot kickstarter launching soon. Well…I’m supposed to be studying the thoth anyway right now. I finished the majors in the DuQuette book a few months ago and fell off. Imma get back on that. I signed up for the newsletter anyway. edit: pics

  24. I was inspired to try Mi-Shell's 3-card spread this week... Especially since I'm in a moment of many instabilities, with lots of obligations combined with big financial insecurity... Here is my reading: Card 1 – Left side = feelings I have: 10 of Swords Card 2 – Right side = the facts I am facing: 10 of Pentacles Card 3 – Middle Ground = What can I do: 8 of Wands And a Witch's Rune for advice: Star The first thing I want to say is that the Gummy Bear has one of THE BEST little white booklets ever. Really, it's very complete, surprisingly deep and yet whimsical, like the deck itself. As you can see, the first card is 10 of Swords, a card we are never really happy to see (though it... fits). In the Gummy Bear LWB it says "the mortal shell of a bear is lying at the shore, pinned down by ten swords. Or is it just an empty bathing suit? The sky is black. But the clouds are lifting. A golden light is visible on the horizon". So clearly, I have been feeling beyond overwhelmed and with a profound sense of failure... but maybe it's a sign I have outgrown the skin I have been wearing for so long. The second card is the 10 of Pentacles, and in the Gummy Bear LWB gives it an interesting twist beyond the good ol' prosperity thing: "Two guests arrive at a castle, and are welcomed by the Castle Bear himself. [...] This scene is one of returning after a long absence". This card shows the facts I am facing, and while I am not sure I understand it completely in this position, I do feel like I have been wandering a long time without finding 'my place'. The 10s always strike me as cards of ending, so I suppose I'm also facing the end of a material cycle, but it's not necessarily a bad thing (even though, right now, it seems that way) Also, it's interesting to have two 10s in opposite positions. The middle card is the 8 of Wands, and it shows what I can do about my situation, and the answer is: press on. Focus on one task at a time and keep doing what you gotta do. Get things done! Or as the LWB says: "Happy people act, unhappy people talk about acting." Lastly, my Witch's Rune for advice is the Star. I have been getting this rune ALL THE TIME, no matter which of my sets I use (I have two, one made of wood and another made of stone). This rune tells I need to have faith in what I do, and be hopeful, even if the dots don't seem to connect right now. My 10 of Swords mindset makes it a bit hard sometimes….

Hello, nice to meet you! :3 I’m Hamuse! I’m a girl in her 30s living alone and surrounded by books. I’ve been studying tarots for almost three years in and off I would say… but I’m still struggling! I joined the forum so I can talk with other people that likes tarots and maybe learn something new. Thank you 🧙🏻‍♀️

    Two Books for March

Happy to see you back here @Grizabella. I use a diary and when I change a password I put the new password under the date that I changed it. That way I've got a record. We're not supposed to write it down, but there's so many passwords for so many different things we access there is no other logical way to do it - other than maybe using your smart phone to send a code, and that's just giving away more information. Looking forward to reading the latest from you.
