Greetings everyone. Daniel invited me to introduce myself. (Thank you.) I’ve been hanging back a bit until I better understand the procedures and geography. Today I almost responded to a post from 2019 but wondered if it was acceptable etiquette to show up for a party five years late. Getting to the point: I’m here because I need to be around people who speak this language. I’ve revealed my interests to family and friends, but I need this specialized community for the ideas I’d like to bat around, and to participate modestly in those put forth by others. My fingers tend to write too much once they get started, so I’ll leave it at that. …

Thanks Trogan for the info about this site. SO glad to see so many At'ers already here. I don't Post a great deal, but I love all the knowledge and insights. I like the little flower icons here, makes it feel all homey and cozy.

Hello everyone! I am a beginner in Tarot readings (However I am rather experienced in a romantic reading using playing cards and also rather good in the Lenormand method), so I got myself the Smith-Waite Centennial Edition as a first deck. Do you have any suggstions/tips on how to get started in getting to know the deck meanings or things to look out for etc? Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated!

So I know I'm an existing member, and maybe shouldn't be doing this in the intro section, but it HAS been 5 years since I last posted so I figured it made sense to sort of reintroduce myself and explain where I've been. I'm Symph, primarily I'm just a spiritual rock musician, but I got into tarot about 5 years ago and wound up here, I remember many of you as really awesome people. So why did I leave abruptly? It was quite a few things but I think mainly my conscience kept wrestling with whether or not I felt good about tarot, witchcraft, occult, all these buzz words that having grown up christian I'm so programmed to fear. While I was wrestling with al…

Hello all, It is so nice to read posts by old acquaintances and friends! I was kissa on ATF but the screen name was taken already so here I shall be Kissa72 :-) French living in Finland, was very much into tarot for many years and took a sudden break 3+ years ago. A week ago I found the Zillich Tarot and fell in love. I hadn't bought any deck in over 3 years! I got it today and was amused at the printing error on The Universe so I decided to check the internet and found this forum :-) It almost feels like home though I have to get used to the interface and the dull colors ;-) Long live TTM! It's been a couple (or a few) years since I was last here, so I figured reintroduction is in order. I've been busily blogging away on my divination blog since 2017 after Aeclectic Tarot folded (I have over 2,300 divination-related posts now), and recently wrote an essay bemoaning the fact that Aeclectic has never been convincingly replicated. I decided to come back and see if you can make a liar out of me. I see a few familiar names here, which is encouraging. Now you'll have to endure my relentless commentary again for a while (I'm just glad I didn't have to redo my login credentials).

Dear all, very nice to be here with you! I was active on the AT forum for a while a few years ago, especially in the Tarot de Marseille reading exchanges and groups. I went "off" tarot for a while after a very intense two years of learning - then I found my way back, via the wonderful (and out of print...) Collective Tarot and other queer decks. Still love the Tarot de Marseille the most though, the Dodal was my first love and is still often my go to deck for readings for myself, the small mamanmiyuki TdM from Japan is my main deck to read for others, and I have many more... Anyway, nice to be back! And looking forward to diving back into learning and reading…

Hello, all! I am new to the forum and new to this internet world of tarot. I started practicing in my late teens almost two decades ago, when we mostly learnt with family or by second hand books. There were good blogs here and there but not today's scene of YouTube and (I hear) TikTok channels. Anyway, I came back to this amazing world after a calling that I have been avoiding for the last year. I was never a skeptic, but avoided Tarot for many years due to many pseudo-religious superstitions that made me believe this was a forbidden fruit. Anyway, I am back after an appointment with a good tarot reader and it was such an amazing experience, it was almost like I was doing…

Hey everyone, I need to consult someone objective: I am in love with one of my best friends, but he is not interested in pursuing a relationship with me which is hard to understand because we have a very special soul level connection and I know he is physically attracted to me bc we used to casually date long time ago before we became good friends. So I asked what does he feel for me with just one card spread, which usually helps me to stay focused and it was 10 of cups I see this card as the perfect card for a romantic, deep and fulfilling relationship so it wasn't clear how come this is what he feels, if he was clear that a …

Hi all, My name is Jai. I am a beginner tarot reader. While I am not a beginner to the custom I am a beginner to conducting readings. I just got tired of paying readers in person who gave me generic readings or paying for readers online only to be duped in getting another generic reading (even a generic video). I felt no connection. So I prayed and ask for blessings, took out a new deck of cards, and started first with a 1 card reading. I referenced every online explanations of each card. Now I am up to a 9 card reading (on myself only). But I keep a journal of my readings. I started seeing repitition cards. Or different cards pulled that have parallel insinuation…

Hello everyone, I've resumed my study of the Tarot after a year caught up with other endeavours. I'm currently reading Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom A Tarot Journey to Self-Awareness By: Rachel Pollack which I highly recommend. Strangely, I feel a stronger pull towards the cards than ever before. It's wonderful to find a global community of companions and mentors. I wish you all a grounded and enriching holiday season and look forward to reading member's posts, readings and insights 🍃

Merry meet, I am BlazingPhoenix, Magus of the Shadow Knight clan of our forebears, as well as a member of the council of the Hoffman Tradition. I am under the tutelage of Arch Mage Moon Shadow, who constantly impresses me with his knowledge of the Craft, as well as his undying commitment to practicing the Craft. He's blended several areas of study to find a way that works strongly...mixing Stregheria, Buddhist, and I honestly don't remember the rest. I recently earned the rank of Mage, and I'm striving to learn as much as I can. I do clairvoyant readings online -- I find it easier to type the messages than to orally transmit it...keeps my mind clear -- I read tarot, thou…

Hi All! This looks like such a lovely place to land! I'm still trying to get my feet back under me and settle a bit. My cards for this morning were the Wheel(Inner energies)and Canoe(Chariot)(Outer energies) from the Gaian. And I'd really shuffled the crap out of them beforehand, too. ;D

I'm Ana, new here. I've been into Tarot off and on for ten years but seriously for the last two or so. They guided me through a dark period of me life, as so often happens it seems 🙂 They recently began nudging me to find some outside learning/teachers/community so here I am! Current deck is Ostara which I adore but thinking about preordering Tarot of the Divine, it looks beyoootifull

Hello to all ! Well, the first words are always hard to find ☺️ I'm Mylene, 42 years, living in the south of France, Scorpio 🦂 I have always been fascinated by cards and tarot. The first tarot I've bought was a playing game tarot, at 9, subjugated by the number of cards ! I never read or play with it (and still don't know how to play tarot !) but spent hours laying patterns with the back of this cards... My first "divinatory" tarot came when I was 17 I think, after a friend gave me a reading while a breakup. It was the Dragon Tarot,, and the starting point of my collection 😆 I really start learning tarot with Marseille, and switched to the Thoth T…

Hello guys, I'm new to the tarot and learning how to read the cards and connect meanings in the context of a spread. Feel free to give some insights for the way you've approached having surrounding cards influence a specific position's meaning!
