Do you have any favorite podcasts or youtubers? I've only really watched Kelly-Ann Maddox, and love her channel dearly, but would love some suggestions. Anything really educational/thought provoking with some meaty content. :D

My reading have been inconsistent. I am getting different results for the same questions. I will get the same results for several hours and than it will change. Does this mean someone changing the outcomes through black magic?

How many times do you shuffle your cards? Do you do it a fixed number of times - like you always shuffle nine times for example? Do you wait until the deck feels "right"? Or does it depend on something else? Related fact: I've read before that to fully randomize a deck of cards, you need to riffle shuffle it at least 7 times. There's a mathematical basis for this too - so this is not a metaphysical concept or something.

Prompted by some discussions and comments I thought I should start this topic since I know we're a diverse bunch on here who use tarot for so many different things. For a while I've been not quite in the mood for tarot, because I burned myself out doing small daily readings. Daily readings can be fun and it's nice to see a card every day, but the way I went about it just exhausted me. While I'm not ready to delve back into tarot again just yet I was thinking about how I could use the cards for other things than guidance when I do get into it again. I'm not feeling as lost or confused anymore as a general state so I don't feel the need to ask my deck for advice about my…

I'm just wondering how important it is, or is not to some readers of using an actual spread they may find on the web, or from a book either off the shelf or one that comes with a book in a tarot deck. If you feel that is the one to use, or if there is a magic pill so to speak by finding a spread somewhere to get it right for a particular reason. I'm also wondering from readers who may not use any preconceived spread and just use one they invented for themselves, or simply lay down a line, or a few rows of cards in a square lets say. So I am curious about both points of view. I myself have evolved into using, depending on the question/issue to using a simple t…

As per the title. I'm feeling Tower today ... letting go of a dream. Destruction of a foundation. Tearing down something I tried to build. Changes. Ketu entering my H4 and going to transit my Moon soon. Yet no Tower. I'm stalked by other cards. I guess maybe the situation isn't as extreme ... like the other stalker cards are important issues and my own personal tower feeling is just overly dramatic by comparison. I dunno. I sometimes get clients who read for themselves and they want to know why they got Tower and 10 swords and I didn't. With such a client I say, it's not as bad as you fear. These cards show it's not so very…

Hello, I’m building a non-AI tarot app. By “non-AI” I mean the app would not generate interpretations for you. Instead, it would focus on the reading process itself, so you could either interpret the cards yourself or use it as a tool when reading for someone else. Im looking for ideas for features that aren’t already common in other tarot apps. I know most of the basics have probably been done, but here are a few ideas I’ve come up with so far: 1 After shuffling, you can cut the deck by choosing exactly where to cut it on the screen. 2 You can switch to a different deck in the middle of a reading. 3 There’s a reading timer you can pause, so you can keep track of how m…

I was inspired to adress this topic after seeing a video by Avalon Cameron on her patreon page that discussed the concept of Sacred Balance. She spoke about the importance of figuring out exactly what you yourself are made of so that you can understand what imbalances you and how to correct it to be fully grounded. So not everyone will find that going barefoot or spending time in nature will make them grounded. There are many different sorts of imbalances - plus there are also some people that suffer from being too grounded. Being too grounded can manifest itself in ways where you carry excess weight, feel stuck and don't like to leave home. Perhaps you overindulge in foo…

Hello all, there's a few things I'm wondering about and hope you can shed some light on it. I apologize if these questions have been asked before, but decided to put these rather short questions into one post. First question: why (or in what instances) could/should a significator be used? I understand the concept of it, just wasn't sure when and how it should be used. Second question: what benefits are there to using an Oracle deck, especially in conjunction with a tarot deck? What are the pros and cons? Last question is more of a comment; what are some good tips and tricks for people learning to read the cards intuitively?

I've been into tarot for a year or so now. Would like ideas methods for bonding to decks. I usually smudge, shuffle and put crystals with decks. I meditate on the cards. Would like further ideas, spreads etc to bond further. Currently working with Wildwood and Hidden Rhealm decks. Thanks

I mean if you feel too shy or too young feel free to not be in this convo lol! I mean we don’t have to be too detailed here just legitimate question as I truly want to understand my cards for questions like these. You ever ask your cards sex related questions? what cards represent what for you? I had asked my cards, as a newly single individual, if I’d have an active November but honestly I don’t even know where to start with interpreting in this context other than the obvious like devil(intense sexual attraction or sex life), two of cups (lustful, passionate), and lovers (lovemaking, passionate) but that’s about it. Thoughts?

I'm just sort of curious! Out of the time that you spend in your day working with tarot, thinking about tarot, studying tarot, playing with tarot, what sort of balance you've struck! I'll talk about my balance in a bit, but I want to see what the polls bring in first!

I would appreciate it if others would share their approach to pesky yes/no questions... not good yes/no questions, like "Should I take this job that appeals to me but pays less than my current job?" (I can think of several good ways to tackle that), but banal ones like "Will the Atlanta Braves have a winning season?"

I was surprised to find this thin tome in a local bookshop, and since Tarot books are very rare here, I swooped on it like a perplexed vulture. In all honesty, I thought that it would feature subtle discourses on the creative male and female energies that suffuse each card, the ways they interact (pro)creatively or destructively, the hidden and conspicuous sexual symbolism and imagery that is reflected in each card, esoteric perorations on the erotic compatibility between the Courts based on their astrological attributions, etc. I expected it to be somewhat like DuQuette's seminal videos on the Sexual Alchemy of the Thoth Tarot which are very frank, yes, but still subtle.…

I thought we could have a thread dedicated to round decks. What are your favorites? What round decks do you know of? How do you store them? How do you use them? I am experimenting with the directionalities that is described for the motherpeace tarot and I have found them very useful. I am sure most of you know about them but here is a quick one: If its upright then it is upright If it is reversed then the energy is blocked or felt unconsciously If the card is tilted to the right then the energy is being pushed harder than necessary And if the card is tilted to the left then the energy is being held back …

I'm headed to Denmark, Norway and Sweden in June, and a tarot loving friend of mine has asked me to pick up a tarot deck from one of these countries for her. Now, to be honest, I'm only in Copenhagen, Denmark for one day and on a cruise ship for Norway for the next 11 days and then visiting family in Sweden. I most likely won't find a deck in Norway that is just off the cruise ship and may not have time to find a shop in Copenhagan, given we're only there for less then a day really. But, if ANYONE here can help me with ideas of where to find tarot decks from here I'd sure appreciate it! I leave in early June. When in Sweden, I'll be in Halmstad, Sweden. …
