I took a tarot hiatus and I just started again because I was struggling with severe depression. The depression cut me off spiritually, I felt soulless person and I couldn't feel anything, not even God. I'm way better know, but not a 100%. I'm having some trouble doing readings for myself, it just looks like gibberish, my mind just goes blink and I can't connect the dots. When, I do it for others everything goes smoothly. Has anyone experience this after taking a long break from tarot or I'm not fully spiritually connected as I once was and it might take a little more time to get there?

I was trying to track down some information on the Kurmay Tarot this morning and there doesn't seem to be any updated content on Adam's site since 2015-ish? And I'm not finding anyway to search his blog? Hi Friends, Does anyone use templates when they do a reading, as way of recording the reading for themselves or others? Or do you use templates when journalling or studying the Tarot? As someone that likes aesthetics and uniformity in my notes, I find templates a good way to streamline the design of my study. Making them look beautiful really draws me back to my notes time and again. It's a step up from the old highlighters and jelly pens from my school days! Haha.

Hi, I wish to expand my deck collection, but I'm really attached to my RWS deck so I don't want to probably ignore it. It's like my first born 🙂 But I feel adding more to the collection will help me learn more and become a better reader. Please advice with a deck that is simple, yet adds more to my learning (over and above RWS). I'm not a fan of fairy, cats, overly dark decks, maybe not too modern too...preferably something direct and accurate with a good guidebook with it or resources to read up on the internet to understand it better. Hi everyone, I'm looking for opinions on deck quality from the various major publishers of decks. For example decks printed by US Games, Lewellyn etc rather than self published decks. How do you find the card stock and durability of these kind of mass produced decks? Is one company better than another in any respect?

Hi, I’m just getting into Tarot and one of the people I follow (Biddy Taro), suggests a daily draw of a card. Today I was shuffling the cards ready to draw when one fell out.......I thought it was meant to be so took it. It was the tower !! Are there any good tarot magazines on the market either e-mags or old-skool on the newsagent's shelf? I've managed to find one good one ... The Cartomancer which what it lacked in content (i read it cover-to-cover in under an hour) made up for in quality. The articles were very pro, interesting, & made me really think....well worth $5. From what I can tell, there seemed to be a lot of tarot mags out there, but a lot of them have closed. But if anyone knows of any that are running now I'd like to hear from you. Many thanks.

I'm finally getting around to reading The Marseilles Tarot Revealed (a newer Llewellyn edition of the self-published Tarot: The Open Reading) by Yoav Ben-Dev (creator of the popular Conver Ben-Dov TdM, or CBD Tarot). After reading 'Your 'Go to' deck' thread I'm wondering if people have decks they haven't read with but would really like to get round to properly using them. I'd have to say the Dark Goddess and Tarot of the Crone. I'm headed to Denmark, Norway and Sweden in June, and a tarot loving friend of mine has asked me to pick up a tarot deck from one of these countries for her. Now, to be honest, I'm only in Copenhagen, Denmark for one day and on a cruise ship for Norway for the next 11 days and then visiting family in Sweden. I most likely won't find a deck in Norway that is just off the cruise ship and may not have time to find a shop in Copenhagan, given we're only there for less then a day really. I am curious how the energy works in the cards when you are reading for someone else and you are the one doing the shuffling. How does the energy of that person work? Would it not be your energy or do you think about what the person is asking as you are shuffling the deck? I know this might sound ridiculous but it is something that I am a little confused about as a beginner?

Hello - I am taking my first course in reading the tarot cards - what I am finding very confusing and frustrating is when I am asked to determine what a tarot card means (ex six of pentacles) without previously learning the meaning of the card... in other words using my intuition. This seems like a backward way of trying to learn tarot as I believe you need to learn the meanings of the cards first and then add the intuition in after that. I have tried to lay out all the major arcana and see a flow between cards but I don't see anything as I do not know what the cards represent. Am I right to want to learn the meanings first? Hi, I like to pick a card for each week and at the end of the week track it back to how it went, however sometimes I have had majors turn up for a reading like ‘wheel of fortune’ or ‘Devil’ but nothing really significant happened in those weeks. It becomes difficult for me to do daily card reading, hence weekly method is preferred but does anybody have suggestions on doing a better spread for this kind of a weekly reading to get better insights?

This is probably a difficult question as you may have lots you like. But there must be one that is an all time favourite. My one is the 10 of Cups from the legacy of the Divine tarot. It is so heartwarming and beautiful, l smile whenever it comes up for me and my sitters.

I just finished a reading for a friend and it was powerful, to say the least. The energy that I was getting from the cards had my hands shaking, and it was good energy. I have never experienced a reading that powerful or that clear before. I can't disclose any info on the reading itself out of courtesy to them, but wow. Has anyone else had readings like that? A reading where you could honestly almost see the energy the cards were throwing off and have them speak to you so clearly and so loudly it was as if they had become part of you?

I'm reading with great interest the posts about what people may see about tarot as they walk into your home, and it seems some people have a A LOT of decks! I get that! But, for those of you who have hundreds of decks, I have a feeling some of you must have that one go-to deck that you always go back to. Me personally, it's always my trusty vintage Grimaud TdM deck from'77. But color wise, it doesn't match up to some of the newer TdM's, they saved money by just dumbing down the multi colors. But it always feels good to use it. It's all good energy.

Hi everyone, My question my sound stupid, please forgive me. I am very new into tarot, so please help me out. When i was shuffling the cards, the magician card popped out and fell horizontally on the ground. I dont know if I have to take it upright or in reversed . I have watched a few youtube videos where readers lay a card horizontally and read it. How to interpret a horizontal card? Thanks for all your time and help, Much appreciate it.

I just nabbed Cassandra Snow's Queering the Tarot and Rachel Pollack's Tarot Wisdom, but I was wondering if anyone was aware of other books that might suit (ha!) a queer, intuitive reader who's into diverse decks? I'm much less interested in the history of tarot than I am in new and experimental takes on it, new ways of looking at the cards and steering clear of rigid interpretations... That sort of thing. Bonus points if the recommended book/s come as ebooks, since physical disability makes handling paperbacks difficult these days!

I’m terrible when it comes to reading on a regular basis and knowing what sort of questions to ask so I searched for some tarot prompts and found this! I really like how these questions are phrased, so I’ll likely try to do a few of them. Each tarot card is in its essence, a living Being. Tarot cards are breathing a lucid beauty representing the book of our souls. The first 22 cards, 0-21, all represent the stages of our lives. But I wonder, if when ever one chooses to see as the time Tarot really started, lets say 700 years as an example, if there may have more distractions than there are now. I would imagine mere survival, having one meal, is far more a necessity than a text is now. I say this because to me, a lot of what the Tarot is all about is the attainment of the complete I AM. Was tarot all about achieving balance and harmony 700 years ago the way some of us may see it now.

Good Evening Family, I just finished trying out doing a reading on myself for the second time. The first was--laughable. I realized half-way through "reading" the cards I had accidentally shuffled the wrong way so half the cards were reversed... but I gave it a shot any way! Tonight, though--wow! Hello! I've been studying my tarot deck as well as keeping a tarot journal, this is something that works really well for me and gives me my own place to reflect. But as I've been studying I've come up with a couple questions. First: My decks court arcana consists of Kings, Queens, Princes, and Princess's, and not the traditional Page and Knight. I am wondering if Page is equal to Princess and Knight is equal to Prince, but if not, what is the difference? Have you guys ever done a reading in a public space? (For example, a cafe, library, a table in the park, etc) Any place where there usually wouldn’t be anything like tarot or occult things? Was the energy different? Did you feel it affected your reading? Or do you bring your tarot out to the outside world at all?
