Hello friends, how are you? Do you usually play with the concrete meanings of each arcane? I like to create a word bank for each one of them, and exercise my ability to associate meanings to not-so-obvious events. Here are some (I use RWS): Hermit: download. Ace of Wands: like a post. 4 of Wands: Carnaval. 9 of Swords: night skincare. 10 of Swords: acupuncture. 3 of Swords: surgery. 7 of Pentacles: Christmas tree. 6 of Swords: cruise ship. 8 of Pentacles: bank payment slip, installment, financing. 8 of Cups: trekking, backpacking. Tower: home renovations Strenght: Pets Care. Any to share?

Hello everyone I was looking at the Pictorial Key to the Tarot thread, and it got me wondering. Are the Tarot meanings we use today extremely watered down from those of the past, or is it more that the modern meanings have been updated and expanded for our times, making the older meanings obsolete? Many of the PKT meanings are extremely negative, (for example, both the Death card and the 9 of Swords can both represent actual death), and are rarely used in readings today. Other cards have meanings in the PKT that aren't so negative, but are still hardly ever used, such as messages in writing for the 2 of Pentacles, patrimony for the 5 of Cups, and mistress for the 5 …

I know that traditional readings are the best, but What´s your opinion and experience on accuracy of automatical online readings. More than readings I am referring to automatical selection of cards, which you can read after the software draws the cards.

Hi all Having been away from my cards for a while, I've joined a couple of tarot Facebook groups, so that I can interact and do interpretations of card readings. One thing that I've noticed is that more often than not, people will post a photo of cards and ask for interpretations, but give no spread. They will post the question, but then nothing as to which card is in what position. Are spreads optional? Are more people reading tarot cards in a storyboard fashion, or linking key words to form statements? Do you need to have a position to 'frame' the meaning of the card? How many people read tarot without using spreads? T…

When I was younger I had an origami calendar that gave you a figure to fold each day. I was hoping to find something along those line, but with tarot spreads. Maybe a book or website. Any recommendations?

When reading the tarot, are you intuitive, or do you rely on traditional meanings? I am a combination of both. I am 30% intuitive, 70% rely on traditional meanings.

Without exception, we are all searching and looking for something, or we wouldn't be playing with tarot cards. But where? This isn't a question to ignite long stories of how you found the tarot, we all have those. This is a question to ask you to look at the very beginning of that story you have, at that very moment it began, were you looking in or out? Over the time since that moment have you found it more fitting to look the other way?

DO I believe this or not ? Just received it from the Tarot Association (of which I am not a member but I still get this stuff !) https://www.dropbox.com/s/qe3wsnd81t75pz9/article%2078.pdf?dl=0 Their reaction seems rather over the top, or am I naive ?

I think this is an important topic that doesn’t get talked about as often as it should. This article is well worth the read! https://www.groveandgrotto.com/blogs/articles/how-to-spot-a-fake-tarot-deck-and-why-you-should-care?fbclid=IwAR17mgi_z2b3SzDKu9arCRTTmafOvnZvDfov9jPCU01_z5oWkHwWrmVtD7s

I've been thinking a lot about intuition and I'd like to know what works for you, whether you are naturally highly intuitive or struggle(d) to get there. Basically I have three areas I'm curious about: 1.) What, if any, are the things you do (methods/rituals/set-ups, etc.) that help you access your intuition, or put you in the headspace to do so? 2.) What have you found to help you trust your intuition? 3.) What kind of tarot decks or imagery do you feel you can more easily read intuitively? And/or, conversely, what kind do you look at and say, "Nope, won't be able to read intuitively with this deck!" Thanks in…

Hi so I had an interaction with a friend today and it was a little awkward. Later I asked my deck if my friend was having an off-day and I pulled the hanged man. I think that definitely means they weren’t feeling like their normal selves. Does anyone have any other interpretations?

What question could I ask and spread to use in order to find out if a friend is ok. I can't ask the friend because they're the kind of person who always says "yeah, good thanks." Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

Hi all X/ I wonder what time of the day you do your readings? From both astrology and astronomy (Einstein's spacetime) I know that time and place are important. That's why I needed to find out the right time to do them, and after some silent prayer I found out that 1 am or 1 pm would be right. Do you have any specific time of the day you do your readings?

Has anyone tried this app? I installed it in my Android, and oh it works! ;D You know how it sometimes seems like you're trying to catch a real Pokemon in your drawer when you set the camera on in Pokemon Go? It says that it's in AR mode, right? Yup, that's what AR means - Augmented Reality. Well this app is like that, except that when you put any Tarot card and look at it through this app + your smartphone's camera, some pretty awesome animation effects are invoked by the cards. A few keywords also appear on the card, and would change depending on whether it's upright or reversed. I'd post a vid this weekend, just so you can see what I'm talking about. It's so …

I stumbled across a book titled “Mastering the Tarot” by Paul Fenton-Smith. I read a couple of pages as I was curious about its potential based on the title. I feel there are more than enough beginner tarot books and not near enough intermediate/advanced ones. However, I scoffed and stopped reading as soon as I saw an entire page about how one should ONLY read for other people and literally NEVER read tarot for oneself. His reasoning being that one is too emotionally invested in the outcome and cannot be objective which will cloud the reading. I find this to be ridiculous. Yes, we are invested in the outcome of a reading for ourselves and we want only good things…

I was wondering if anyone else here either is on the spectrum or has read for someone on the spectrum... I will admit that my first draw to the Tarot was the -system- of it, and right now I'm definitely in the information hoarding phase of my interest for them (which is a familiar thing to any person with autism). Learning about the cards, their meanings, and meditating on the readings I'm doing for myself has been very calming and enjoyable for me. I love the learning of it, the history of it, all of that. The tactile nature of the cards is also very magnetic to me. When I look at the cards and feel them speaking to me, it's such a compelling feeling. But I worry abou…

Hello all, Still recovering from a very intense week, but on a lighter note... i am curious what decks you are drawn to use during this Autumn/Samhain Season? i am planning on pulling out some of mine this morning...

What a great, intense weekend of tarot! It was amazing! There were 78 (no kidding!) attendees and 4 presenters. The presentations were based on tarot and the brain, natural biases, and Rachel Pollack. There was a nice display with her Shining Tribe deck and some beautiful quote cards we could pull from to receive a special message from Rachel. The actual service is later today, Wednesday July 19. On Friday night Mary Greer opened the event with a Tarot Circle that is a reading version of speed dating. Very cool way to a) meet other attendees and b) play a tarot activity that proves anyone can read the cards without knowing anything about tarot. There …

So...I have completely misplaced my original RWS deck that I got 30 something years ago. It happened about a year ago in a move. It is frustrating in that I swear it was with my other decks, but it is not...and i KNOW it is not in my old place b/c I have been there twice since I moved to give paper work to the new owner. I really want to use it. Is it weird that I feel "guilty" about buying a new one....or I am more wondering should I buy a new one, or will that "mess up the vibes" I have wiht the old one. I KNOW what's going to happen is I will buy a new one, and the old one will suddenly appear again... on the other hand, if the old one does reap…

Hello, anyone here wondered what can everything happen if you use the tarot very often? I guess if you read every day, you can bring close to you bad entity and you can feel it. I have at night sometimes weird and bad dreams and always wake up around 02:20 and have feeling like someone is there around and looking at me. I always use salt and put it front to the doors and window, always have closed the doors when I sleep. What are you doing for protect yourself if you are using the tarot? Never you can't know "who" gave you the answer rn. At most you can be "connected" with positive power, but it can be like some "hacker" detect your connection and somehow use it against y…

hi! new to the forum, but not to tarot. many people use base and quint cards. i most often don't, but in doing exchanges, i have at times found the quint useful for laying out the overall theme of the other cards, or simply clarifying the other cards if i'm stumped. then, the reading makes perfect sense. what is the real difference between them? they seem so similar. i think i prefer the quint. curious to know thoughts from others. useful or not?

So sometimes people talk about just shuffling through their deck, whilst they're watching tv... or just because they feel like fiddling with something. My version of this is bedtime decks. Decks that are pretty, not emotionally taxing, maybe a little funny and easy to run the eye over - that I just like to look through before bed sometimes... Mine are all Tarot: Dame Fortune's Wheel Tarot Metanoia Tarot All Hallowes Eve & Halloween Waite Tarot, stars editions (Hybrid deck) Spring & Winter Waite Tarot, stars editions (Hybrid deck) The Gendron Tarot. Anybody else? …
