This is a question that has been on my mind for some time. When you're reading with "happy" decks (bright colours, fun/cute imagery) do you feel like it skews your reading? Does it make things feel too optimistic or sort of pad out your answers? I've read with gloomier, "dark" decks before and I know it's possible to get pleasant and positive readings from them, but how easy would you say the opposite is? I'm curious.

Hi guys, I was watching a video on Youtube, and like the deck that two of the cards featured was pulled from but there was no identification. Does anyone recognize the deck to which these two cards belong? 10 OF CUPS 4 OF SWORDS

There is a deck I once glimpsed. Four of Cups is depicted as four women carrying cups. Three younger women are on one side of the bridge, an older woman (someone I imagined was a mentor) beckons from the other side. Does anyone recognize the deck?

Hi Tarot friends! So I was watching this reality TV show and they brought on a tarot reader. I screenshot two cards I could see, the first one is The Devil and the second the Queen of Pentacles. Anyone any idea what deck this is, please? Thanks!

Hi! Yesterday I was looking at a Visconti Sforza comparison video on YouTube, and the uploader has a modern deck inspired by the Pierpont-Morgan Bergamo Visconti Sforza Tarocchi. He himself cannot find any information on the box, but I'm very intrigued by this deck and I would like to know more about it. Maybe one of you have this deck in their collection? The video is here: And here are some screencaptures: Thanks in advance!

I recently got a Lo Scarabeo Anima Antiqua deck that I was excited to use, but a little information insert says that it has "not been treated with chemical varnish, so may not be suitable for shuffling." What does this mean? Can I never shuffle my new deck without fear of damage?! This is the only information I've found, which did not prove helpful: https://www.cultoftarotforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=813

Hey there! I have been trying to find the website that is basically a large directory (with images) of tarot decks, going back a number of years. I could be wrong, but I think it was created by a guy who had a large collection and was selling some of them off, originally. But it is also useful for reference because it shows images and the dates that decks were published. I don't know why I can never remember who it was or how to find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? @gregory, I know you have posted links to it in the past, but I couldn't find those posts.

EVER had a deck that the cardstock was the deal breaker? You liked the deck, maybe loved it, but either were afraid to shuffle it or had trouble shuffling? I just had one that the cardstock was the deal breaker for me and I thought it was a GREAT deck. The Star Tarot by Cathy McClelland. The original Majors deck. BEAUTIFUL and, while the cards are HUGE, not what made me move it along. In fact, they were so gorgeous in the large size. The cardstock was pulling apart along the edges and that was just me going through them a few times and LOOKING at them, not shuffling. It would never had stood up to being a reading deck for me.

I was pretty stoked when I received my copy of the Fairies Oracle, but my heart sank when I took the cards out. I do not believe I have ever experienced such poor quality of cardstock. Like really thin cardboard and no lamination. It honestly looked a bit homemade (no, this was not a counterfeit deck, it’s the real deal and the current edition that’s available right now). I did go to amazon and read reviews and I saw that a lot of people had mentioned the really bad quality. One person also said that it used to have a better quality of cardstock when it was first released. So, do any of you guys know if there has been a change in cardstock? And how do you find your versio…

In general I haven't been a historical deck person, but I've kind of fallen in love with the Cary-Yale Visconti Tarot, so it might become my first. Wondering if anyone has this 2017 edition of it, and what are your thoughts if so? https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN=0880790385/

I have been egged on by @Misterei to ask you to show-and-tell your cat decks here! Readings with cat decks are also welcome. Let’s overrun the forum with kitties! I’ll start. I have 7 cat tarots (3 of which are majors-only) and 6 cat oracles. Baroque Bohemian Cats’ Tarot, second edition Tarot for Cats (majors) Chat du Marseille (majors) I Taro Gatti (majors) Into the Void: The Black Cat Tarot Medieval Cat Tarot Mystical Cats Tarot Cat Comfort Cards Cats in the Garden Oracle Cats Lenormand Cosmic Cat Wisdom Cards Cosmic Cats Oracle + Mythic Cats Oracle Deck Here come a bunc…

Misterei mentioned in the pet companions thread about another cat deck. I have never found a cat deck I really wanted to read with. Some GORGEOUS cat decks out there, but as I am a reader, not a collector, it has presented a dilemma for me. I follow RWS decks, so it has to be an easily readable, as in each card CLEARLY what it should symbolize, without having it too distracting with cats (love those cats!). I hope if independent or large deck publishers are reading threads here, more cat decks will be forthcoming. For those of you deck designers in here, it would be so wonderful to have some of you think of designing a cat deck. AGAIN, no dis…

Chialing, who used to be baby_dream on ebay, still has a few copies of this wonderfully fun deck she could sell to anyone who loves cats and doesn't have it. There is a review on youtube. From tarotgarden: I love mine.... I can put anyone interested in touch.

Not sure if this is already known, but I just noticed that USGames has the CBD Tarot de Marseille available for pre-order, to ship late November. I’ve been looking forward to adding this one to my collection and am happy to see it available again after the sad and unexpected passing of its creator, Yoav Ben-Dov, in December last year.

To avoid confusion, since I know there are several Celtic tarot decks, this is the one I'm talking about: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/celtic-2/ Anyone have or worked with this deck? I just traded for it, should be here sometime next week. I actually hadn't seen it before I was offered it in a trade, and I liked the images I saw so decided to go for it. Would love to hear others' experiences :)

It seems I've devised a plan for 2026. My absolutely top desired deck is The Tarot of Echoes by Ana Tourian . Picture for reference. It is limited to 750, out of print, and was supposed to go to Mass Market, first in 2024, and now by this year. I'm not holding my breath as publishers are a fickle lot and anything can change. It's already October on that note. So I've devised a realistic way to acquire a used copy, which currently run about $350 on eBay when one appears. I am going to continue my goal of eating healthier. Each day I do not buy junk food of any kind, I will put $1 into a fund. At the end of the year, If I have maintained a stron…

Note: This thread applies ONLY to authentic decks ... "cheap" meaning mass market or sale prices from reputable vendors. It does NOT include counterfeits [which is a different topic] So I am getting a LOT of use from my $20 Devine Deco deck. It has crappy card stock and a crap box ... but I LOVE the deck. I have 2 copies of RWS Centennial Edition in a tin which I use all the time. I bought 10 of them on super sale when they were $11 each and gave all away as gifts except for the last 2 which I kept and use frequently. I have a similar mini RWS indie deck which was $40. The indie deck is borderless which I like but honestly they read about the same $1…

I discovered that the tarot shop in the capital sells the OOP (according to AT at least) Chinese Tarot. Stock moves slow, it seems? I saw it mentioned on the Most Beautiful Decks-thread and since my resolution this year for deck buying includes buying more indie decks and mass produced decks from local shops I'm very intrigued by this one. If you have it, how does it read? Do I need to be a proper wiz in Chinese culture and history to use this deck?
