Who here with Prisma Visions (1st edition) thinks it is totally worth 80.00 US? There's a gently used one for sale, so I'm asking for a friend (ah-hem)...

If I posted in the wrong place, please redirect & forgive me. I’ve heard many pronunciations of ‘Minchiate’. Massimiliano Filadoro (Viceversa tarot creator) just corrected me...the Italian word is phonetically, in English, ‘MEEN K JA TE’. I’ll trust his pronunciation, since he’s Italian & struggles with English.

I've had my eyes on this deck for months and finally got the money to pay for it today. I love masculine decks and this one will satisfy me for a long time! Here is the google link to many of the images, the name of the deck is St Jinx Tarot. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&tbm=isch&q=st+jinx+tarot&backchip=online_chips:jinx+art&chips=q:st+jinx+tarot,online_chips:divine+masculine&usg=AI4_-kRzhEWH3EH5mBlOSqT0DXIc5b2O7g&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjDjbPz5rThAhVuUt8KHeXuASoQ4VYIKCgB&biw=2560&bih=1308&dpr=1 Here is the company page https://www.makeplayingcards.com/sell/stjinxtarot And his deviant art page https://www…

Have just got the "Enchanted Spell Oracle" by Priestess Moon and it's beautiful. At the same time I got a book "The healing power of trees" by Sharlyn Hildago. I am a total newbie at this. But the calendar are different in the book compared to the Oracle. With help of google I find that the Oracle deck has a so called Graves' system while in the book, the year starts at around 1 Nov. This bothers me a little. Though having an open mind is always good, I'd like that it was the same.. or rather that the Oracle deck would have had the same system as in the book. Any suggestions or tips on this? Katie

I posted about this in the First Purchase of the year Thread, and people seemed to like it - but I did point out that the stock was almost exhausted. http://www.helenivory.co.uk/fools-world-tarot-publication/ The creator is considering a reprint, if there is interest. Who here would buy if it came out again. (For the record it cost me a whole £20 - peanuts for such a deck !)

Political discussion is strictly forbidden on this site, so I intend this as a philosophical commentary or discussion if others chime in. Tarocchi came from Renaissance Italy and in those early cards we see light skin and blond hair often depicted. The Northern Italians were generally lighter than the darker skin and hair in South Italy. Was it political / status at all? I have no idea. These were the noble families of Northern Italy. I don't know if the artists painted them lighter for status or if they really were blond with light skin. RWS came along in the 1900s and although the Occult revival gave serious credence to the spirituality of India …

Several published and non-published tarot decks were made since the Pokemon saga started in the 90s, but here I am talking about this one : http://pokebox.storenvy.com/collections/171214-all-products/products/19684522-pokebox-doujin-poke-mon-tarot The author is Cokujyo Eikyu and this deck is not official Pokemon material, but an 'amateur self-published work' (this is what the 'Doujin' means on the website). I find it really well done, as you can see on this page (all cards are there with most Pokemon identified) : http://tarot.vn/tra-cuu-pokemon-tarot/ I've heard about it on the Cartomancy forum and at least another person has ordered it already, but I thought I sh…

I have always been curious about the Mutational Alchemy Tarot. Early last year I was planning to get myself a copy, but its main creator died and they closed shop for a while. I just remembered this deck earlier so I checked their shop from their website. Imagine my consternation when I found out that they limited the sale of the deck to current or aspiring members of the Abrahadabra Institute (which the creator of the deck founded). Too bad I didn't get a copy when it was still available. Oh well, c'est la vie I guess.

A few years back, Marie White self-published a limited edition deck based on her sketches for the Mary-El Tarot: https://tarotsmyth.wordpress.com/2014/05/04/the-new-sketch-deck/. Maybe, if there's enough interest, she could make a new one. I don't know Marie from Adam, I'm just testing the waters. If there's enough interest, maybe we could motivate her to make a Kickstarter or something.

https://www.penguinrandomhouseretail.com/book/?isbn=9781984824660 This is the artist's site: https://www.artstation.com/fgissubel The cards and guidebook for this set do not mark the suit for the Minor Arcana, so I did a marathon session of laying out each card with its Thoth and Waite counterparts (pocket deck versions). Strength = Wands Intelligence = Swords Wisdom = Cups Charisma = Pentacles I used a gold Sharpie to make small marks of my own. At least the guidebook has color pics of the individual cards!

I found this deck here in the deck library and fell in love, so straight into my Amazon cart it went. However, I can't find any posts here about it, and very few reviews in general. The one by Benebell Wen waxes rhapsodic about the art but very delicately insinuates that it is not a deck to read with. I find interesting the way some of the cards play with the RWS imagery --for example, the Ten of Pentacles makes the old man the center of attention, while the happy family is far, faraway in the background, and the Four of Wands makes me think of the Tower right before lightning strikes, or after things are put back together, if you prefer. Other car…

I thought that others might want to be aware of this new offering from U.S. Games: https://www.usgamesinc.com/pamela-colman-smith-rws-tarot-deck.html It's strange. I tend to watch new releases across the major companies quite closely, and this was never on pre-order before--just suddenly available for ordering now. I wonder if it is a rushed production, perhaps U.S. Games' response to the proliferation lately of antique RWS decks without copyrights on the face of the cards. Now that they have competitors, they finally have to listen to this long-standing complaint (but notice that they've still put the copyright on the card back).

I've recently purchased the Arthur Rackham oracle 2nd edition deck and the cards are too slippery! I do not like slippery cards and was wondering if there was a way to de-laminate them (if that's a word). 👀 They feel really cheap to me. I love the deck but can't stand slippery cards that just go all over the place when I try to shuffle and handle them. I prefer hard/thick card stock with little to no lamination.

If you have a wish list in your profile we can get an idea of your vibe It would help to include what country you are living in too...just saying 🙂

I know the old saw about old dogs and new tricks, but I'm still going to start a study of the Barbara Walker Tarot. I've never paid any attention to this deck in all the 21 years I've been using the cards but when I decided to become a collector of decks in tins, then Fate had a change in mind for me. The Barbara Walker deck in a tin came to me in a trade and I started paying attention to the deck. I became deeply intrigued. Does anyone else have it and use it regularly? If so, would you care to share your experience and insights with me? I didn't see Barbara Walker listed anywhere as already part of a study, but if there is one, the mods are welcome to move …

The title says it all! I’d love to hear what decks you find yourself going to again and again for readings (for yourself, and others). I’m deeply in love with the Deviant Moon Tarot right now, and find myself reaching for it again and again for myself, and for people who I don’t think will be spooked by it. The Light Seer’s Tarot always gives me solid readings, and I love how it lends itself to intuitive reading (much like the Deviant Moon). And generally, I find it suits almost anyone who comes for a reading. For really fun, light readings, I love Mystical Medleys. It also is so close to a traditional RWS that it’s a nice tool for re…
