I was looking through an old topic on Tarot spreads and @Nemia wrote something that piqued my interest in a different direction: @Nemia said <<Personally, I prefer to milk a small number of cards for what they're worth instead of pulling a lot of cards. But I've seen people work very well with big spreads. It's not for me, I'm easily overwhelmed π >> This got me wondering about other people here ... Do YOU like large spreads with many cards? Small spreads? Medium? I define large as anything more than 10 cards. I dislike large spreads ... BUT ... I often end up reading with a lot of cards ... it's situational f…

I have been searching Aeclectic up and down for a spread that I canΒ΄t find again. It was made of all 78 cards and spread out on the floor in the shape of a person. Two pictures was taken, one on the upper part of the "person" and one on the lower part. Is there anyone of you "old" Aeclectic members that remember this spread or at least have seen it?

Hi all, I'm currently immersing myself in the Thomson Leng, and I want to share the spreads ITT. It's my hope that some of you try them out here - use any deck you like. And bear in mind that I'm no expert with this deck yet, I just got it yesterday and it's very different from what I'm used to in some ways. But they're good ways. It occurs to me that, since the deck was published in 1935 in the UK, people would have had it in the house during the Blitz. I think some people would have consulted it to see if their homes would be safe, and if their men would return alive. When we're worried and we have no way of knowing something, we turn to cards. So it's an important…

I'm curious what everyone's go to spread is: whether you read Oracle, Kipper, Tarot, etc. Do you prefer long spread or short to the point spreads? Or do you use a spread or do you keep pulling cards until you get a feeling to stop? Comment and let us know! π

In the past my experience of tarot both receiving and reading was limited to simple e.g. three cards spreads. I found it too be only mildly interesting and hard to really get a full picture of a situation. It was the experience of receiving a celtic cross reading recently that really changed things around for me. My brain loves to piece together disparate aspects of a situation and get a broad and multilayered understanding. I'm curious how others feel about the celtic cross and if there are any other spreads you would recommend for a more "abstract" thinker like me?

Greetings ALL! So this is what happened: A person on this forum asked me the other day to give her an overview of how October is going to look for her. I sat for several hours trying to find a suitable spread, I turned to the books I own ( which together have over 500 spreads) and even tried looking in my Tarot notebook but to no avail! What I am looking for, kind Tarot enthusiasts is to help me find a clear yet detailed spread that will give a future overview. Like in the given example- a spread that will show me what is likely to occur in a person's life in various fields in a given point in the near future. Thanks in advance!

Hiya, I used to have a copy of the collins gem tarot guide that I lost. It had an in depth lifetime spread that had sets of 3 cards per area/topic, may have been 21 cards. it was a helpful spread to use when you were reading for someone for the first time as it gave them points that they were able to recognize from their lives. ive scoured the internet trying to find it or something remotely similar. Before I resort to buying the book I figured Iβd check if anyone could help. thanks!

Any suggestions on what is the best spread for questions about life path, life purpose and career?

I have pretty strictly used spreads for reading Tarot up until now, and I love collecting new ones and testing them out. Since getting the Mildred Payne oracles, which are really suited to intuitive reading (and Lenormand style spreads - thank you Katrinka and Flaxen!) I have this desire to go a little wild and just pull 5 cards in a row with Tarot, spreadless, and see where it goes (or maybe read Lenormand style). Has anyone played with spreadless spreads before and have any tips or advice? Does anyone love or hate reading this way? Would love to hear your opinions!

There's probably a thread for this, here, already, but I would love it if you could share your best interview or meet a new deck Tarot deck and Oracle deck spreads with me. Thank you so much!

Many of us, from time-to-time, will encounter situations where we're receiving (or suspect that we may receive) unsolicited attention from someone we would rather not deal with (it could be an office Lothario or seductress, an internet troll, a high-pressure salesman, or any other nuisance type). This spread is designed to interrogate the cards about any such activities or suspicions.

I've been studying with my RWS deck and haven't had much time for doing anything else until today. This morning, I had the strong urge to use my new Everyday Witch Tarot and after my daily draw I decided to do The Deck Interview Spread As a newbie, it's one of the longest I've done, but first time for everything! I thought I'd post my interview in case anyone wants to give it a try. @Nordica De Spell I'm lookin at you! Here's my spread, starting at the top and reading clockwise. ETA: This may be in the wrong area! Mods, help!

Posting at the suggestion of @Trogon. I do apologise in advance for the bad language. If it's unacceptably offensive I understand if this post needs to be removed! Personally I do think in this case it's actually rather fitting and appropriate to the spread subject, but I'm quite a sweary person and don't offend easily so perhaps I am not the best judge [emoji23] Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

A close relative is married to someone with a truly bad case of NPD, probably with sociopathy involved. Recently, a hard limit was reached, and I need to find a solution on how to keep the venom that that person exudes AWAY from me and my family, AND remain in contact with the close relative. (Preferably, Iβd just meet up with the relative, and go total no contact with the NPD partner β but as it tends to be with families and people involved, this problem is a lot more complex than that!) So, Iβm looking for a solution-oriented spread that can deal with βa situation filled with complicated obstacles,β and find a way over under through…

For many years, I've tried to do a yearly spread (once a year) to see what the tarot has to say about what lies ahead. However, I have NEVER found a satisfactory way to do this. Just pulling 12 cards, one for each month, never works for me. By never works, I mean it has NEVER given me anything useful at allβnot even the first month. Frustrating. I am very open to suggestions here. If you can see your year ahead successfully, what is your method? Last year I tried something new. I used three decks. I pulled 12 cards from each deck, so each 'month' got three cards. Nope. Not even close. Aaargh....

This is a spread for spiritual exploration and empowerment. I designed it with the intention of combining two decks (those who know me know that I LOVE combining multiple decks and/or systems). I just chose one deck for the "Above" positions, and one for the "Below" positions. I feel that this offers a chance to really pinpoint what energies you want to explore (or tap into) in each specific reading, so I chose my decks intuitively. But this spread will surely work just as well with only one deck, and it works great for both tarot and/or oracle cards. I added a picture of the reading that I did using this spread. This time I used two oracle decks and they are by the same …

I learned tarot from an older family member, and she would only teach me the one spread; the extended celtic cross. This, apparently, is the best one and so forth. But sometimes, a simpler spread would be okay, perhaps? So what spreads do you use? I'd very much like to learn some new ones! And when you do different spreads, do you tell the deck when shuffling which spread you are using?

One thing I like about the CC is that the positions can be summarized in one or two words. I like the Counting Crows spread because i know the one for sorrow... rhyme. Any other spreads like that?

2-3 weeks ago I meditated with the guidance of a youtube video: At first I was scared to do that since I didn't know if I wanted to see my future self but it was an amazing experience and I love my future self. That inspired me to create a Tarot Spread "Talk with your future self" Here's the link of my instagram where I posted it: https://www.instagram.com/p/BqqJPtUn4t1/ The Spread as I posted it on the link above is: 1...2...3...4...5 1. My present self (this can also be intentional) 2. My future self will thank me for... 3. My future self tells me to focus on... 4. My future self tells me to cut off... 5. Advice from my future self If you want to ask …

Greetings, I understand this type of reading and tarot spread is a sensentive topic as it talks about suicide for my reading and created the spread on a cause of a death. Now this is topic and spread is to be used for anyone who arent heavliy affected nor find this offence. Im not doing this to upset anyone in ANY shape or form, but death is a milestone that every living thing experiences regardless if you like to accept it as it is or not. Enough of the ranting heres a reading ive done earlier on today as I was in a dark state of mind. So heres how the spread works and the cards I have gotten for the reading. For further details I will be expanding my reading with furth…

Lo Scarabeo put up this spread for "interviewing" a new deck of cards. I have several new ones and I want to try it. Had anyone done this said before? If so what were your impressions? I'll probably do this over the weekend when I have more time.
