I was looking through an old topic on Tarot spreads and @Nemia wrote something that piqued my interest in a different direction: @Nemia said <<Personally, I prefer to milk a small number of cards for what they're worth instead of pulling a lot of cards. But I've seen people work very well with big spreads. It's not for me, I'm easily overwhelmed š >> This got me wondering about other people here ... Do YOU like large spreads with many cards? Small spreads? Medium? I define large as anything more than 10 cards. I dislike large spreads ... BUT ... I often end up reading with a lot of cards ... it's situational f…

Hi all, Hope you all are doing great. i am looking for a simple spread to understand someones thoughts and feelings towards me. Could you please suggest one for an absolute newbie to tarot?

For many years, I've tried to do a yearly spread (once a year) to see what the tarot has to say about what lies ahead. However, I have NEVER found a satisfactory way to do this. Just pulling 12 cards, one for each month, never works for me. By never works, I mean it has NEVER given me anything useful at allānot even the first month. Frustrating. I am very open to suggestions here. If you can see your year ahead successfully, what is your method? Last year I tried something new. I used three decks. I pulled 12 cards from each deck, so each 'month' got three cards. Nope. Not even close. Aaargh....

Iām wondering if thereās any specific spreads meant for reading about multiple romantic relationships at the same time (ex Iām in a relationship and want to know about any other future relationships that would interact with my current relationship). Iāve seen there is a spread for 3 person relationships but I donāt think it quite fits what Iām looking for. Iām also wondering if it would be better to do multiple small spreads and ask them as separate questions?

I have pretty strictly used spreads for reading Tarot up until now, and I love collecting new ones and testing them out. Since getting the Mildred Payne oracles, which are really suited to intuitive reading (and Lenormand style spreads - thank you Katrinka and Flaxen!) I have this desire to go a little wild and just pull 5 cards in a row with Tarot, spreadless, and see where it goes (or maybe read Lenormand style). Has anyone played with spreadless spreads before and have any tips or advice? Does anyone love or hate reading this way? Would love to hear your opinions!

I found a wonderful career spread that I'd like to share. It's from the book Tarot Life Planner by Lady Lorelei. It's called the 78 Career Choices, and it's useful for people who are at a crossroads re: their professional lives or who're simply curious as to the kinds of jobs they may possibly take. As the book says, it can "help you think, decide, and plan. It isn't meant as a surefire method of determining your next career move, but will get you out of your rut and start you thinking". First, choose any of the following questions, or if you want you may re-frame any of them to your liking: What is my best job choice for now? Which career choices best suit my …

As per the title. I always thought deck interviews were silly ... and never got good results anyway. But i wish to give it another go with Triunfi della Luna deck. I've already used that deck quite a few times sans interview ... and get really inconsistent results ... sometimes it just HITS ... other times no. Usually a deck is 90% hits or 90% misses (and it goes to thrift store). I've never had a deck that was 50/50. Bunch of deck interviews on the internet, of course ... but this is a more discerning group. Your faves?

Greetings, I understand this type of reading and tarot spread is a sensentive topic as it talks about suicide for my reading and created the spread on a cause of a death. Now this is topic and spread is to be used for anyone who arent heavliy affected nor find this offence. Im not doing this to upset anyone in ANY shape or form, but death is a milestone that every living thing experiences regardless if you like to accept it as it is or not. Enough of the ranting heres a reading ive done earlier on today as I was in a dark state of mind. So heres how the spread works and the cards I have gotten for the reading. For further details I will be expanding my reading with furth…

This is a spread that I first saw on Youtube ( ). They guy in the video does an example reading if you want to know a bit more about how to perform this spread. (He also mentions that he first learned this spread from an Agatha Christie book - but won't mention which one it was. I believe he is referring to The Hollow, which is the only book of hers that I know contain a cartomancy spread, although it is not exactly the same as this one. However, back on topic.. ;D) You start by choosing a significator (this card is not counted as one of the ten cards), and you place it in the middle. Then you lay the rest out like this: 5 4…

Hiya, I used to have a copy of the collins gem tarot guide that I lost. It had an in depth lifetime spread that had sets of 3 cards per area/topic, may have been 21 cards. it was a helpful spread to use when you were reading for someone for the first time as it gave them points that they were able to recognize from their lives. ive scoured the internet trying to find it or something remotely similar. Before I resort to buying the book I figured Iād check if anyone could help. thanks!

In every book I have read so far there is the Celtic Cross. I haven't tried it yer because of the number of cards. But it intrigues me why it is so popular. What is the value of a big spread like this that you don't find in smaller spreads?

I have been searching Aeclectic up and down for a spread that I can“t find again. It was made of all 78 cards and spread out on the floor in the shape of a person. Two pictures was taken, one on the upper part of the "person" and one on the lower part. Is there anyone of you "old" Aeclectic members that remember this spread or at least have seen it?

Curious topic! At least it is to me! I know that I dream sometimes and often it goes in phases (often with the lunar cycle, I know I've had a dream more often near a full moon). But I very rarely remember anything about them other than their overall vibe. E.g. I woke up at some point last night feeling 'shot through with adrenaline' and like I'd been scared. Around the full moon I woke up from a dream feeling warm, cosy and 'lighter than air'. But I don't remember anything that led up to that point. I'm looking for a tarot spread to help me understand these dreams when they come and help me try to interpret their messages, which is hard without remembering the dr…

I have been doing tarot for a year but I am still learning. I haven't done a-lot of readings until recently because of a new relationship. Currently I just shuffle and whatever falls I take into account, I never know when to stop though. So I will have 10 cards on the table and be confused because I can't exactly interpret what's going on with so many cards. So what are simple spreads for newbies like me?

Hi :-) This is a spread I have used a lot - especially when it comes to revealing the hidden agenda of people that I know. It's good to use so you know who you should trust or not. I will show the spread before I comment my own experiences with it. Here is the spread: 7 cards - use your own pattern, but read them from 1 to 7. I just pick 7 cards and read them one by one. Find the person you want to read about and think of him/her. Pick a card for every one of these positions: 1) Inspiration 2) Motives 3) Intention 4) Hidden agenda 5) Strong spots 6) Weak spots 7) Goal I did this spread for some friends and family. My best friend got the Ace o…

This is a spread I came up a few years ago for the month of February - the 1st Feb (in Ireland) is St Brigid's Day and I believe it is the 2nd in Scotland. (Imbolc?) St Brigid is a combination of the goddess Brigid and an abbess of the same name in early Christian Ireland. Most Brigidine schools have as their motto Fortiter et Suaviter (Strength and Gentleness) and so this spread is based on that motto. But the qualities could equally apply to the triple goddess, Brigid. Strength in her Smith form; Gentleness in her Healer form; and a combination of the two in her Poet form. :) 1. Lay out the cards as shown in the diagram. 2. This spread requires the reader to w…

For Hunterās Moon 2018 I modeled this spread on a 5-point deer antler with pedicle (6) for the 5 degrees that this 2018 Hunterās Moon will swing (south) from the Earthās orbital plane. When I think of hunting, I think of deer hunting so that is why I thought of the antler and when I researched the Hunter's Moon a bit, I learned about the 5 degrees swing. I hope you all enjoy this spread! ------------1 ------2----- 3----------- ---------4- -----5---- 6--------- 1. What are you hunting for? 2. How will this nourish you? 3. What will you need to consider during the hunt? 4. What obstacles might you face during the hunt? 5. How will you keep up your men…

2-3 weeks ago I meditated with the guidance of a youtube video: At first I was scared to do that since I didn't know if I wanted to see my future self but it was an amazing experience and I love my future self. That inspired me to create a Tarot Spread "Talk with your future self" Here's the link of my instagram where I posted it: https://www.instagram.com/p/BqqJPtUn4t1/ The Spread as I posted it on the link above is: 1...2...3...4...5 1. My present self (this can also be intentional) 2. My future self will thank me for... 3. My future self tells me to focus on... 4. My future self tells me to cut off... 5. Advice from my future self If you want to ask …
