Hello, Anyone else like smaller spreads over big ones? I really enjoy performing the 3-card spread (past, present, and future) on my clients as it gives me a good overview without being too specific and become lost in endless details. Also, I find it so much easier to consolidate the 3 cards at the end of a reading.

My friends, I've been having a wonderful time working through the lessons of learntarot.com, taking notes on each and working through the exercises. Today I reached Lesson 10, The Open Reading. The exercise at the end of this lesson prompts me to look for an opportunity in the coming weeks for an open/general reading to get myself familiar with this style of reading, preferably on a "special" occasion of new beginnings. As it turns out, the Autumn Equinox is coming up on the 22nd! This is the perfect day, as it will be my first observed equinox. So I did a search in the forums for spreads but only found the Autumn Leaves Transition Spread linked here: But I feel th…

In every book I have read so far there is the Celtic Cross. I haven't tried it yer because of the number of cards. But it intrigues me why it is so popular. What is the value of a big spread like this that you don't find in smaller spreads?

When reading tarot, and trying various spreads, I find one question, one card works for me. I may draw up to five cards, but do one question for each. Example: What should I know this month? I pull a card and set it down, reshuffle and ask What Further Clarification or What Area of my Life will this impact? I can do this for up to five questions, but usually three does it to hone in on what I am seeking, sometimes just two. Just wondering if I am the only one who ever does or if others do. I know we all work differently and get our info the way that best works for us. I am been using this for about 8 years now and it just works for me (gotten…

Hi everyone I wanted to share with you a terror spread that I just did, It is called the 2 options 7 card spread Which I found in the book A Little Bit of Tarot: An introduction to reading tarot, by Cassandra Eason. With this spread you are supposed to select 2 options or choice you are facing, but I guess you can always customize it if you have more than 2 options. I did this and it really was eye opening for me so I thought I would share. I wish I could post personal pictures.

I've been asked to do a tarot reading for future and I don't know which spread to use. The past present and future 3 card seems too small. I find it easier if I have a specific question, but general future is harder. So which spread is best?

Hiya, I’ve become interested in doing my own personal spirit guide readings lately (more of a meet & greet tbh). I’ve played around with a few spreads I’ve found online, but have had a lot of trouble connecting to the cards. much of what I’ve found regarding contacting guides deals in dream work or signs- my wheelhouse is tarot so I’d like to facilitate it there, ideally. I’m specifically interested in more one on one contact/conversation- less seeking guidance & more getting to know who I’m working with. I’m seeing like, 11 common guides? I’m not ready for all of that, I’d just like to focus on a couple to start. …

Hiya, I used to have a copy of the collins gem tarot guide that I lost. It had an in depth lifetime spread that had sets of 3 cards per area/topic, may have been 21 cards. it was a helpful spread to use when you were reading for someone for the first time as it gave them points that they were able to recognize from their lives. ive scoured the internet trying to find it or something remotely similar. Before I resort to buying the book I figured I’d check if anyone could help. thanks!

I usually just pull one tarot card and one oracle card for my daily draws, but when I have time I like to use something like these: What Surrounds Me (cards are laid out in an "X" shape): 2 ~~~ 3 ~~ 1~~ 4 ~~~ 5 Card one represents me - where I am mentally, physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Cards 2 through 5 represent people, situations, things, etc. that will affect me in some way that day. Head, Heart and Hands Spread: 1. What do I need to know today? 2. What do I need to embrace today? 3. What do I need to do today? Please share your favorite daily spreads when you read for yourself!

In the past my experience of tarot both receiving and reading was limited to simple e.g. three cards spreads. I found it too be only mildly interesting and hard to really get a full picture of a situation. It was the experience of receiving a celtic cross reading recently that really changed things around for me. My brain loves to piece together disparate aspects of a situation and get a broad and multilayered understanding. I'm curious how others feel about the celtic cross and if there are any other spreads you would recommend for a more "abstract" thinker like me?

Hi everyone, Usually I practice reading the cards by doing one for myself about once a month. I like the reading because it's only since recently that I've been able to 'read' them intuitively. I've been able to give myself a good reading but I've run out of questions now. I'm not really interested in how a visit from my friends will go, I'm 100% sure it will be fine. And I don't have enough going on in my personal life to do a daily card. I'm usually just home alone. Does anyone have some tips on how to practice reading the cards without a querent and question? Or maybe I should ask the cards? 😆 Or maybe somebody should tell me to jump …

I'm looking for more insight on what spreads folx currently use for someone who comes to them wanting to focus on future-only. To not review or reflect on the past, and not even necessarily focus on the present, but looking for advice on how to proceed moving forward- career, love, family, etc. What spreads typically lend themselves to this? Or, is there a recommendation for a self-designed spread that would be useful here?

Its the lunar eclipse today and I was inspired to create my own small spread for it. I thought others might find it useful so am sharing it here in the Spreads area as well as in the Lunar Group Reading thread so people can find it more easily. I used an image of the eclipse as my inspiration here. I realised that it could be easily adapted for a solar eclipse too so I've included that too. Lunar Eclipse Spread -1-2-3- 1. The Sun - A source of light in my life at this time 2. The Earth - What is in the light right now that can be taken forward in my life? 3. The Moon - What is in the shadow right now that c…

I'm looking for a spread that will help answer a question that may not be super specific... or maybe even also a spread to help me narrow down the question! For context, back in Feb 2017 I saw a psychic (let's call her A) who read my cards and said I'd be in a relationship with the right person in about 6 months. She described him in terms of a couple of key features. At the end of 2016 a different psychic said I'd be in a relationship 'by August' next year but provided no details. This was just a single line answer via email. Another, in the June 2017, said 'within 3 months' but no specific details. Again, it was just a quick online single topic answer. I kno…

I am looking for everyone's favorite spread to read for others (vs. ourselves) when it comes to relationships. They don't have to be about romantic love; family, workplace relationships and close friendships all count to. In particular, I'm looking for spreads of 3-8 cards with each positional noted. Here's a sample because I'm a shamefully picture driven creature.

When looking at season and sign, how do you interpret when the card is the same for the season and sign?

I have pretty strictly used spreads for reading Tarot up until now, and I love collecting new ones and testing them out. Since getting the Mildred Payne oracles, which are really suited to intuitive reading (and Lenormand style spreads - thank you Katrinka and Flaxen!) I have this desire to go a little wild and just pull 5 cards in a row with Tarot, spreadless, and see where it goes (or maybe read Lenormand style). Has anyone played with spreadless spreads before and have any tips or advice? Does anyone love or hate reading this way? Would love to hear your opinions!

Hi all. I’m very new to tarot and I’ve been pulling either one or three cards regarding my infertility journey. I often get some positive cards that indicate pregnancy and positive outcomes but I usually end up with the emperor reversed in my spreads. I’m in a happy, stable marriage. My husband is on board with expanding our family. Could this card be referring to me and how I’m making decisions about my infertility treatment? I’m still not pregnant and my last round of IVF wasn’t successful.

Does any prefer something other than Celtic cross spreads for love readings
-
I’m sure this is probably a duplicate to something that’s been asked in the past but I couldn’t find any specific threads about it. I’m extremely new to tarot and most of what I’ve seen for spreads have come from YouTube and a few assorted websites. Any and all recommendations would be greatly appreciated. 💜

Found this beauty on reddit. It's beginner friendly and gets right to the point. This spread has given me a right telling off in the past. Also with my friends it just tells them what's what. Great for advice I usually pair it with a past present and future spread for more info.

Hi, so I am looking for two spreads. One to help answer the question of: Where is this relationship heading. The second answering: How my ambition is affecting my life? Anyone know any that would work for those two questions?

Hi all, Hope you all are doing great. i am looking for a simple spread to understand someones thoughts and feelings towards me. Could you please suggest one for an absolute newbie to tarot?
