Who is/was Dawn R Jackson? Maybe someone here knows. She wrote a wonderful method of playing card reading she titled 'The Wise and Subtle Arte of Reading Cards...as examined by a witch who practices said arte'. Does anyone here know/use the Playing Card Oracles method created by Ana Cortez? I’ve been studying it and using it since around 2007 and it’s definitely my main method for reading playing cards. I wonder if anyone else here is interested in it as well! What’s your experience with the PCO?

What technique do you use for reading playing cards? What do you like/dislike about it? Any limitations? Types of questions it’s particularly good for? Feel free to provide a link or a short description of the style for those who may be unfamiliar with it ~~~ I use my own system that’s a combination of definition based and intuitive reading. Each suit and each number corresponds to a word that represents an overarching concept, roughly based on the RWS meanings for the minor arcana. If you have memorised 'For the Witch of Poor Memory', you should be able to do this. I'm calling this the 'key word phrase'. It's the thing that should spring to mind as soon as you turn over the card, which you can then build upon in answer to the question and/or in relation to the surrounding cards. The key word phrase won't make sense on its own, but will be very helpful in reading the cards. Fill in the card that matches the key word phrase, or if a card is given, fill in the key word phrase. Playing cards can be used in a spiritual way as well. Here are the 'Hedgewytch' correspondences: Diamonds - Spring, Fire, Aries; the human soul Hearts - Summer, Water, Cancer; the gods Clubs - Autumn, Air, Libra; the progress of human souls in living out the patterns of the gods Spades - Winter, Earth, Capricorn; fated patterns and befallings of all human souls We can use this thread for practice in spiritual playing card readings! Do this until you can do it without hesitation. Then do the same for each number. If you turn over Ace, say out loud 'Ace is beginnings'.
