General discussion on the Lenormand.

The title says it: Did you come across them? One which made itself known in a little circle is the mountain-coffin (in an otherwise positive 5 card reading, beeing located in the middle). It is the end of a blockade, like a mountain crumbling. It does not feel nice, yet enables to move on. On the other hand, the mountain-mice never appeared with a heads up: The card following it is strongly impeded in its functionality. Which ones did pop up/made themselves known in your readings?

Hi all, I've been looking for new ways to integrate Lenormand into my daily routine. Daily readings have become a bit lackluster as I work from home and will likely have the exact same day over and over again until April or May when the warm weather comes. However, I have been binge-watching a few shows at night (The Bear and Ted Lasso) and I actually bring my cards with me to the couch. I do a reading in between episodes to see what's coming up in the next episode and have had great success. Just wanted to pass the idea along to anyone trying to learn Lenormand or exercise their cards.

Serge Pirotte is offering another Intro to Lenormand class this September. 7 weeks, $140. https://www.laetitiacartomancy.com/classes-1/p/learn-lenormand-with-lenormand-expert-serge-pirotte-f8c7m (I’m not affiliated with this class at all, other than as a happy student — I took this class and one on Belline from Serge last year. I’m taking this one again to strengthen my skills — Serge is SO good.)

I just purchased this on Kindle, currently 9.99 from 40. (On Amazon ca) The Complete Book of The Petit Lenormand: German Method https://a.co/d/2ffhdYf I actually saw it couple weeks and added it to my wish list. I been waiting for the 3 enclopedias to come on kindle, but still only in book form. I also was looking for a more German style as though I got andy b book, I was looking for more. At first thought was going to be fluffy after the preface, I'm just now getting to German suits which is what I really looking for. I know ttam forum mods in general put forth there is no lenormand school of learning. That i…

I just bought the Old Style Lenormand and decided to put it through my "deck interview" reading. This spread is my own creation that doesn't follow any traditional model for card interaction (except perhaps with a nod to Andy's "left-and-right" meanings), but it's fun to do. https://parsifalswheeldivination.com/2020/03/12/the-old-style-lenormand-attitude-check/

Hi! I have been doing research on Lenormand decks for several days - I just now hear about them. I really love the Gilded Reverie Expanded Deck by Marchetti. I have read a little of this forum but not much about this deck. I am buying Andy Boroveshengra's book because it was recommended for beginners. Is anyone familiar with the Gilded Reverie deck and can tell me if I can learn using it? I am not a brand new oracle card user and the one deck I use the most is read like Lenormand spreads. I would love suggestions if this deck is not right for me. I fell in love with the look of this deck and it feels like it should be mine, if that makes sense. But I do not want to make a…

What are some characteristics that really bother you in Lenormand decks? Like, deal-breakers. Personally, I am kinda bothered when the Clouds card don't have a brighter and darker side, because positioning is so importante to me in a spread. Also, when the "people" cards (Man and Woman) are facing ahead, so they can never be looking towards or away from each other. It kind of kills the potential for "narrative", in my opinion. I'm curious if other people are bothered by such things or if I'm just awfully nit-picky.

After reading a passage in caitlin matthews book i realized that i misunderstood the comparisons table and was actually saying the same meanings as andy b in his book. So I am rewriting this to reflect that only using Andy borroveshengra Lenormand thirty six cards An introduction to the petit lenormand And Cailtin matthews The complete lenormand oracle handbook Reading the languages and symbols of the card. It is a beginners trap due to lack of information to assume that one could read the lenormand as an english card reader with established english meanings. Especially when you hear of this style or that style. …

While I was searching for decks I came across this obvious pirated version of Rana George's deck. There are several stores on Etsy selling her deck. I asked Rana on Insta if she was aware she was of course disgusted but said it was US Games to sort it out. Anyone know how to go about that? https://www.etsy.com/listing/1045663966/rana-george-lenormand-oracle-cards-a-42

Are the general thoughts on plus/minus/neutrals consistent? Is the idea even relevant or something tacked on in recent history? Sorry to be so full of questions, I learn by immersion and in the last month I've read so much as to be dizzy. Eventually a lot will fall away I'm sure... I hope enough sticks to make my Lenormand journey as enjoyable and useful as my tarot journey has been.

Would it be wrong to use the Snake as to signify poison? Could it be materially (the thing which causes harm) or metaphorically (poisonous words, for example, as in Letter + Snake)?

I did check past topics but did not see anything about this so in case I missed it I apologize for starting a new one. I’m finding different people determine these differently. There are some who use positive, positive neutral, neutral, negative neutral and negative. Then others who don’t use the positive neutral or negative neutral. Does this coincide with the different “ dialects” of Lenormand? I’ve been reading Björn Meuris, Andy B and (newly started reading) Iris Treppner. I am thinking I just need to pick one of the three until I learn and know it before I move on but which one? And which one to learn for the positive negative? I think only one way to lear…

Dear Ones, i just have to say--Rana George's Lenormand deck is the most gorgeous Lenormand deck i have ever seen. It is the jewel of my collection and reads like a dream. It is not only the most gorgeous jewel of a Lenormand deck, it is one of the most gorgeous decks that i have ever had the joy to hold in my hands. The colors, the card stock, the sheer beauty of the paintings, the box and booklet--First Class Plus!!! i had more than 100 Lenormand decks at one time, and this is the topper. The pics or vids online don't begin to capture the beauty... And the price is sooooooo reasonable!

I have both books (Rana George's and Andy Broroveshengra's) and I really do want to learn Lenormand, so who should I go with? Apparently Boroveshengra follows the German system, and George the French. What is the difference? Is there a big difference? Which one should I start with? I have Kipper cards, too, so which system would allow to dovetail more easily into Kipper? Really appreciate your help. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I’m curious how different readers approach the people cards and what’s your reasoning for choosing to read one card as a person and not the other. On this forum, I’ve encountered multiple mentions of the “social card + person card” combo approach. According to it, a card can be read as a person if it’s connected with the House, the Dog, the Lilly, the Moon and the Park (correct me if I’m wrong?). If you utilize this method, do you consider only those cards that touch the person card or also look at the mirroring/knighting cards as well? If the former, does it matter what side of the person card is touched by the social card, or does the social car…

Hello All! So as I continue my more folklore/traditional type of Lenormand reading studies I am looking at “additional” reading techniques. Let us say Mirroring and Knighting though we can easily add Counting to this as well. Besides giving you additional information do they give you a type or specific kind of information? What drives this question is I am remembering reading, can’t say where I read this, the Knighting shows you information that is right around the corner, not in plain sight. So first off am I dreaming I read this? Second, I don’t always use additional techniques as I don’t always need additional information but that could change if they del…

I've seen different methods for reading the *corners* of a Tableau. My question is about a 6x6 GT --- but I think it applies to any type of tableau. Let's call the corners: A, B for the top and X, Y for the bottom [left to right] Do YOU read AB XY [i.e. top pair and bottom pair] or AY BX [criss cross] maybe even ABYX [a circle] What is your favorite method?

Hello All! i heard from my friend Elaine this morning [seven Stars] and she is working on the 2017 edition of the Samhain Lenormand. She gave me permission to post about it and show a few samples. Here is the email i received from her: "Here's a few of the Lenormands. It's a limited edition. I wanted it to be all fall colors....lots of yellows & oranges, falling leaves from trees, a lot of hints at Samhain but not a full every single card is halloween kind of thing. With the birds I wanted it to be like, "empty nest syndrome"....by fall, all the baby birds have left the nest. And of course, bats in the belfry for the Tower, stuff like that. Should have it …

Seekers Lenormand - Andy Swartz Does anyone have this deck? Am considering getting this Lenormand and was wondering how others find it from the card stock through to actually reading with them. I do like a lot of the images although some, if not most, are totally different from the norm. Not too sure of the heart, but am sure with time it will go one way or the other. If you have it - would love to hear what you've got to share. DND X/

In the German/Dutch method of Andy B, must there always be a significator in the reading? Should that be always be the Lady (for a female querent or reading for self, if one is a woman) or are there other significators in a three card reading? Is it possible, in this method, not to have a significator and just read the three cards together? Thank you for your help. <3
