I happened across a video on YouTube by Angali Shakti, a Hindu, who used to be a student in CBR's oracle school. She's very upset about this deck because she believes that: 1. CBR basically took information from Angali about the goddess Kali during a private reading with CBR that she'd received as a prize (plagiarism on a soul level, and the betrayal of a student by a teacher); 2. the goddess Kali has been completely stripped of all her symbolism and meaning and power (as has Parvati, I think she says later on); 3. this disrespect of the Hindu goddess is offensive to Hindus; 4. this distorted reconstruction gives a very unhealthy message to women, of any colou…

I was reading the Guardian the other day, and saw that the Warburg Institute in London has a very interesting occult library - but more specifically, will be holding a show on original Tarot artwork in January. I'm not in London. Wouldn't it be nice of someone to take photos and tell us about it? Or perhaps some TTM members would like to visit as a group? It would be good if we could get temporary memberships for their occult library (being researchers on behalf of this forum). Would we write a book? What topic chapter would you want to write about? Just a suggestion - not sure if it's possible. Let me know your thoughts. I'll see if I can get …

Hi, what do people here think of the TTRPGs/solo RPGs that employ tarot cards? I recently played Anamnesis (a journaling game found on itch.io) and enjoyed how tarot cards were integrated into the gameplay. The author included two ways to interpret the cards (which are used to generate writing prompts/events) which I found to be a fun way to study card meanings on a more regular basis. You can use the traditional meanings, or interpret the card's design/imagery and name as you wish. look This led me to look for more games with similar mechanics, such as Princess With a Cursed Sword. A look into itch.io's Tarot tag under Physical Games shows that th…

I found these collections on Google Plus whilst searching for something else. Not sure how 'legal' it is to post such pictures but I found it fascinating to look at some decks unknown to me till now. https://get.google.com/albumarchive/112868448452435024861 I was looking for Dana Driscoll's email address when these came up in the query answer. Shavini, you might find your 'mystery' tarot here.

I accidentally came upon Lo Scarabeo's 3 part Encyclopedia (Fundamentals/Experience/Compendium). What attracted me was the artwork and the volume I must say *drool*. I like big books and I cannot lie. ☺️ You can get a glimpse from the inside, but not enough to determine wether it's worth it to spend money on. I can imagine since it's published by a publisher specialised in all things tarot that it's not. I haven't seen it on any lists as recommended either. Does somebody have a copy?

Does anybody else have these books by Donald Michael Kraig? I know almost nothing about magick - raw newbie here. I thought it might prove very beneficial if I explore how it can be applied to the Tarot. I have only scanned the books but I've never really read them. To those who already work with magick, were these books helpful, and would you recommend them? Or do you have other books which you think are simply better, or more appropriate for beginners?

I was lucky enough to be able to visit the Tokyo Tarot Museum at the end of November last year. It was a really wonderful little place that takes Tarot quite seriously. And, as someone who speaks almost no Japanese (and reads even less), I still felt very welcome. The museum is quite small, and is more of a shop with a cover fee (currently about ¥800 for a 90 minute visit). It is small-ish, about the size of an apartment, with seating areas, decks on display for sale, and displays of Tarot artifacts. There is also a small library of books and decks you can use while you are there (all in Japanese). When you check in you are asked to pick a card that you get to…

Hello, you have probably seen videos where just the card(s) and the reader's hand appears in the video. How is this done? Smart phone with a tripod? I would very much appreciate advice as to what set up I need to be able to do these kind of simple video readings. Thank you! Juna

I've been searching, but I seem to be too dumb to find the right keywords to google - I keep getting forums, reading offers and videos and other products vaguely related to Tarot. And, of course, a few sites I'm sure aren't quite legal. And a whole bunch of stuff for phones, which is not what I want at all. All I could come up with is Visual Tarot and Visual Oracle, but they are way too expensive as you have to buy them separately. Plus, it is not clear if it even supports unconventional deck sizes, they only show 36 and 78 card decks as options. My self made deck has double the number. I do not really need or even want card interpretations, spread…

There are a lot of educational and highly informative Tarot tutorial sites and even documentaries in YouTube. In my forays there however, I noticed that there are channels devoted to monthly Tarot readings for all the different Zodiac signs. Some of them can run a fair bit too and you know that great thought and effort has been expended in producing these. These videos are usually provided by readers who want to advertise their services, I think? So yeah, have you watched any of them? What do you think about them? Did you find them accurate?

Hello everyone, I am just curious what books you read to improve your Tarot Reading Skill? I, myself learn a lot from Seventy Degree of Wisdom from the life philosophy and psychology aspects. However, I am looking for more information about interpretation in daily life / practical basis. Sometimes the meaning of the cards does not make sense to the heart of the matter of daily life. Thanks.

Hello everyone, I am looking for books that are not tarot books that would be of interest to people who read the tarot for others. For example, I found a free PDF download of the book The Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes online (just search around a bit and you'll find it). Its philosophy rings true with me and jives with the tarot (lots of soundbites I can use). I am not interested in Law of Attraction stuff. Thanks for reading this. Rick-

Here’s the URL for it: It’s supposed to be on April 30 (IDK what timezone, so best to check on the link above). The Stream is an interactive show (it’s not staged, and I know because they did feature my tweet on an old episode about decriminalisation/legalisation of sex work in like 2013). I heard a lot of interactive radio shows in the US are staged, this one is real tho. You can tweet them here: I’m not sure how it’ll go, but AFAIK these people should be safe/open-minded to deal with. IIRC, they also did a documentart on contributions of Islam to science—unless I’m confusing that with something the BBC did (so they’re good about reconciling spiritual …

I got the idea for this poll from the topic found here: https://www.thetarotforum.com/talking-tarot/when-a-deck-won't-comply/ I thought some of the comments were very interesting and thought a poll would be fun. I'm putting it in this section because we can't make polls in the main Talking Tarot section. ;) You can vote for 2 choices but both votes must be made at once. You can't go back and try to make the second vote, they must be done on the one and only time you vote. Have fun everyone!

Hi all! I started a YouTube channel but haven’t had much time to post anything ... until now! Received my 5 Cent Tarot and love it and wanted to try my hand at an unboxing video. Learned a lot with just this one - first I’m not sure how the quality turned out... not sure if it’s my connection or the upload itself that is not the quality I thought it would be so if someone wouldn’t mind giving me feedback I would welcome it! Also, I took my time when drawing the cards and reading through all the upright and reverse meanings because it was my intent that I wanted to leave the image of the card up for a bit so someone watching could really see it - but it ended u…

You, the player, are an apprentice magician with a gift for fortune-telling. Left in possession of an unusually enchanted Tarot deck, you must navigate intrigue, murder, magic… and perhaps a few saucy encounters."

To all PCS fans who want to know more about her beyond what was explored in the Artwork & Times book included in the Pamela Colman Smith Commemorative Set, US Games is set to publish Pamela Colman Smith: The Untold Story next month. Written by Stuart R. Kaplan with Mary K. Greer, Elizabeth Foley O’Connor and Melinda Boyd Parsons, it is hard-bound, measures 8” x 10.5”, and has a whopping 440 pages with full-color illustrations. As is written in the book's USG site page: I love the RWS, and to say that I'm very curious about this book is an understatement.

I just got my new phone, migrated everything, but can't get the decks I had bought through the app anymore.
