A new Tarot horror movie has been made 😱 Originally called Horoscope, based on a book called Horoscope (which surely would be more Astrology based), it's been renamed "Tarot". The synopsis.... When a group of friends recklessly violates the sacred rule of Tarot readings – never use someone else’s deck – they unknowingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards. One by one, they come face to face with fate and end up in a race against death to escape the future foretold in their readings. It's a teen horror movie about young people "messing" around with cards. Of course the movie poster has the Death card in it! Let…

Greetings, My sister needs a RWS smith app that is good quality. She is only dabbling, so optional purchases only is best. I am helping my sis with a remote reading and would like to offer her something where she can study a bit herself, contemplate. There may be a dozen threads on this topic, so feel free to just link me if you do not chime in. Thanks so much.

Hi, what do people here think of the TTRPGs/solo RPGs that employ tarot cards? I recently played Anamnesis (a journaling game found on itch.io) and enjoyed how tarot cards were integrated into the gameplay. The author included two ways to interpret the cards (which are used to generate writing prompts/events) which I found to be a fun way to study card meanings on a more regular basis. You can use the traditional meanings, or interpret the card's design/imagery and name as you wish. look This led me to look for more games with similar mechanics, such as Princess With a Cursed Sword. A look into itch.io's Tarot tag under Physical Games shows that th…

Yesterday Peter and me watched an episode of "Vintage Tec Hunters" on TV. This time 2 guys were checking out a vast museum of penny arcade games. Among these they briefly showed an elaborate oak cabinet with an animated Gypsy fortune teller dispersing her wisdom gleaned from a set of extra large Thoth cards. It was too short to get the camera out and get a picture, but on the net I found, that there were quite a few suck machines in circulation! Some pictures are shown as well, many with different cards put out before the "fortune teller, some even showing a Celtic cross. Quote: Estrella's Prophecies Fortune Teller - A coin-operat…

Any tarot book recs? Since I'm new to all this, I'd like to learn so I can become more active in this community.

I'm up-to-date with Outlander, after having binge-watched all the seasons in few months! There is a tarot scene in Season 5, Episode 8 "Famous Last Words". This is set in August 1771, and around the middle of the episode, Marsali cast a tarot card for herself, L'amoureux (The Lover). Then, she do a spread for Roger (who has escaped a hanging, three months earlier). Obviously, the first card to be cast is Le Pendu (The Hanged Man)! Roger freaks out and Marsali leaves... She could have say that the card only means that he needs to look at a situation differently, but they never do that in movies/tv series! My first reaction was to note the episode, s…

I'm relatively new to tarot, and was wondering if there is anything people would recommend to someone who is just starting out?

I was lucky enough to be able to visit the Tokyo Tarot Museum at the end of November last year. It was a really wonderful little place that takes Tarot quite seriously. And, as someone who speaks almost no Japanese (and reads even less), I still felt very welcome. The museum is quite small, and is more of a shop with a cover fee (currently about ï¿¥800 for a 90 minute visit). It is small-ish, about the size of an apartment, with seating areas, decks on display for sale, and displays of Tarot artifacts. There is also a small library of books and decks you can use while you are there (all in Japanese). When you check in you are asked to pick a card that you get to…

Hello everyone, I am just curious what books you read to improve your Tarot Reading Skill? I, myself learn a lot from Seventy Degree of Wisdom from the life philosophy and psychology aspects. However, I am looking for more information about interpretation in daily life / practical basis. Sometimes the meaning of the cards does not make sense to the heart of the matter of daily life. Thanks.

Sylvain has just started a wonderful new tarot project: (I don't have a YT channel, I just watch along and scribble in my little notebook). He works through the first 14 books in the Wizard of Oz series, because together they have 365 (very short) chapters; every day, for every chapter, he posts a short video with instructions / prompt. The books are in the public domain, so they are easy to find free, also as audiobooks on Librivox etc - although I may have already ordered the big box set that he is working with as well... 😄 I read a chapter in the evening, then watch the video (they're only around 5 minutes or so…

I saw the book: The Cloisters from Katy Hays. It is a novel with Tarot in it. Did anybody read it? And would you recommend the book? Book description: When Ann Stilwell arrives in New York City, she expects to spend her summer working as a curatorial associate at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Instead, she finds herself assigned to The Cloisters, a gothic museum and garden renowned for its medieval art collection and its group of enigmatic researchers studying the history of divination. Desperate to escape her painful past, Ann is happy to indulge the researchers’ more outlandish theories about the history of fortune telling. But what begins as academic…

He uses the Tarot in the series, as well as in the Cluster series, to good effect IMHO. I'd like to hear other opinions on the matter. The conception of the world was unique!

While I'm at work or doing chores/crafts at home, I love to listen to podcasts for some good old fashioned edutainment. I've been poking around and haven't seen much on the topic-- does anyone else listen to podcasts? I'd very much like to get into some tarot-focused ones to listen to and learn with.

So I received this book as a Christmas gift and I had to share it with you all as it's stunning. It explores some of the wonderful artwork produced for Tarot decks over the years, and also where art and the practice of Tarot meet. https://www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/art/all/08003/facts.tarot_the_library_of_esoterica.htm# At the risk of going off topic, the book was produced as part of a trilogy with the other two books exploring Astrology and Witchcraft, for those who are interested. Enjoy 😊

Do any of you here reads comic books? I'm in my 40's now, and I recently found a new love for comic books and graphic novels! In my youth, I never read comics. I was more into prose books and encyclopedia. I started being interested by the occult, magic, sorcery and tarot at 13 years old, in 1993. I started reading comics after I saw the Doctor Strange movie in 2016, I loved every minutes of it, particularly the quick references to the chakras and the auras, and all the mysticism of what we call magick. So, that movie picked my interest in Doctor Strange comics (and many others), and during the last 5 years, I bought lots of them and saw many iterations of the tarot in th…
