Hey! I'm a tarot newbie and every time I get the The Hanged Man in reversed I get a bit confused. Since I'm new, I only know the very basics of the meanings. I know it means missing an opportunity, refusing change, detachment, and stagnation. I typically only get it as a clarifying card but I just simply can't connect with it. If anyone could give me a more detailed explanation for this card, I would greatly appreciate it!! for reference i use Modern Witch Tarot and the card being called "Hanged One"

So, I'm here manning the Cosmic Command Post. I didn't have a real question to hand, and I didn't want to dissipate the energy I've got going with my main deck with practice questions, so I got out an RWS just to see what I can see... you know, bear-went-over-the-mountain stuff, nothing at stake. (It said I will receive some money recently.) Anyway... My glance fell across the 6 of Cups. One of my favorites, such a sweet card. There are four things about this card that always capture my thinking. The first is fairly obvious and I've seen it discussed. The second as well. The third and fourth, though, not so much... especially the last: never seen …

The Empress came up for someone in a health reading. I had read somewhere that the Empress symbolized cardiovascular issues which seems to be on point for him as he is having issues with varicose veins which is a bit unusual for men in general; usually more common in women. However, I got to thinking the Empress is a nurturing type, bountiful and reproductive. it made me wonder if it could also be symbolic of the reproductive system or reproductive hormones, estrogen and progesterone in women and associated with menopause, hot flashes, menstrual disorders, etc., and in men low testosterone and its associated issues, erectile dysfunction, low energy, depression, etc.…

Hello... If we look at the basic most meaning of the cards, which cards talk about 'physical travel'? Recently a reader names three cards which according to her were 'travel cards'. She did not rely much on the imagery but just the basic meaning of the cards to tell me I might be travelling soon. Does someone have a list of any such 'travel cards'?

Hello, What is your own experience with Judgement (RWS) card (no reversals as I am still learning upright) when it comes in different readings? It could be one card reading also For example: 1. What will be the outcome of a certain situation? 2. When will a certain event happen? 3. What do I need to know about communication with certain person in near future? 4. What are their feelings about another person? 5. How do they see you? 6. How do they see a certain situation? 7. What is the next best step for a person to take? 8. Yes and No query I see/read general meanings as resurrection of past (before putti…

I was doing a reading for myself and this combination came up and I just found it fascinating working on it. It was actually with the Glastonbury Tarot but just talking about it generally here. The reading was just a general reading about what is coming up. I know these cards are sequential in the Majors but I was fascinated by the differences as a combination, one progressing on from another. The Hanged Man is patience and waiting and you cannot do anything at the time. You are just waiting as you are externally blocked. You can't make change happen but you have to find a way to cope with the current situation, like going internally or seeing…

Hi everyone, what can mean the Queen of Pentacles in terms of feelings? I see this lady as someone very nurturing who takes care of their loved ones, a very committed and reliable person, so perhaps as feelings this card means loving someone in this way? What do you think? Thank you.

For me, the HERMIT is the great representation of longing. Mainly because it is associated with the perception of distance, remoteness and separation. Also dejected, melancholic, sad and taciturn. In Portuguese, we call this feeling "saudade". And see how curious: "Saudade" describes the mixture of feelings of loss, lack, loneliness, distance, missing and love. The word comes from the Latin "solitatem" (solitude), through the Galician-Portuguese "soidade". But other letters also remind me of longing, especially on an imagistic and synesthetic level. For example: 5 of Cups - A longing linked to mourning, loss and departure. 6 of Cups - The "goo…

Would anyone like to share their experience with the king of swords? What have you seen him pop up for in your readings. For the longest I hated to see the king of swords but now that I’ve become a bit familiar with him. He’s not so cold like I thought. I have seen him come out for great communication and conversations. Someone who’s really smart. And a doctor but surprisingly this doctor wasn’t all detached. He was very kind and empathetic which shocked me since the king of swords was his card lol. But I really wonder what has the king of swords shown up for in other people’s reading. I don’t get him too often so I’m really curious. And maybe I can ta…

Hi all Can anyone tell me the meaning of the 12 stars in the crown on the Empress please? Reading about it, I find different answers, from being connected to the cosmos or the spirit world to being in control of each month of the year but this feels like it is far older than that. If it were the cycle of the year, would it not be 13 moons? There are many images of the Virgin Mary with a 12 star crown or 12 stars around her head relating back to Revelations (A great portent appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.) The Visconte Sforza shows and Empress dressed in gold with a cro…

Hi Iv been struggling a bit to know the differences with the lovers and two of cups just hoping to get peoples views on how they interpret these cards, any similarities and differences and there interptetations. Hi there, I'm looking for some interpretations for the four of coins. I really like the wildwood interpretation of protection, as I don't relate to the fiscal quality of the four of pentacles. I was just wondering if anyone had any additional interpretations of the four of coins/ four of pentacles? Is it that we need to provide protection for ourselves and others? If its upright do you typically interpret that to mean protection for others?

Hello everyone, I was wondering about another possible meaning of the 4 of Pentacles as feelings.. This card often occurs to me to mean jealousy or no feelings at all, but what about someone holding back their feelings? Like you're attracted to someone, but you try to ignore your emotions. Could this make sense with the 4 Pents? Thank you in advance.

I am still learning how to interpret cards for all sorts of situations, spreads, and inquiries. I find myself drawing a blank on how to apply a card's meaning to how it would represent a person (say the querent or about whom the querent is asking). More specifically in relationship spreads where the position of the card is to be read as "Represents Querent/Other Person" and the card is drawn rather than picking a significator. The card that is drawn is not a court card where the meanings are already more person geared. But rather say 4 of Cups or The Tower. How would cards that apply more for situations apply to representing a person? In the 4…

It just occurred to me today, during a reading, that without exception ALL of The Sun cards in the decks I own are either offshoots of the RWS card—the child and the horse in a very close-up perspective—OR they depict The Sun as blinding and obscuring distance vision. Unlike a sunny day in the real world, where you can see for miles in all directions under warm light—which is what I would expect the card to depict—The Sun card seems to restrict us to a very close-up view. OR it emits sunlight that is so dazzling we can't actually see anything much at all. In fact, the impulse I feel with some of these too-bright cards is to shut my eyes and turn away. I…

In a recent thread, there was some discussion that has had me pondering interpretations of the 3 of Swords and I would enjoy receiving additional thoughts and insights. logic killing emotions emotions killing logic My pondering so far, I can see both perspectives and in different readings it could lean in either direction. The 3S is often showing a piercing heart which assumes stabbing, painful emotions. As a Swords card depicting communication, intellect, clarity, mental processing, ego, is there then some kind of communication or knowledge that causes the stabbing, painful emotions or is having a broken heart and a never-ending thoug…

I'm really confused by this card. I've seen people say this card is about dreams and wishes that don't necessarily, or rarely, come true. It's the idyllic picture of the white-picket fence ending, but it's largely fantasy...unachievable...an unrealistic standard. Yet, I've seen people receive this card in terms that their desires do come true. A card to represent the future of the relationship (and they do get happily married!), it's the card for their spouse (they represent so much joy for them!), about goals realized (they found the community they were wishing for!) This question of mine sparked this post. So, what is this card? Is it unrealisti…

I have been reading that some people view the Hermit as a negative card denoting isolation, loneliness and withdrawal. The way I learned it is that it represents a beacon of light for the seeker. The Hermit is at the mountain top remove himself from the materialistic world and concentrate on the spiritual. You can count on his wisdom and his lamp can shed nee light on a situation and guide the seeker on their path to a positive end. Since I read with reversals is read the reversed Hermit as being isolated, withdrawn. disconnected and lovely. What do all you think? How do you read it in a spread?

Hello, I'd wanted to post this in the individual tarot card meanings subforum but it seems I can't, perhaps due to restrictions for new users. I'm still trying to learn the nuances of meanings of different minor arcana cards, and finding it very difficult to differentiate between the 8 of cups and 6 of swords, both mean leaving behind, moving on and a change in situation/life stage to me. Could anyone help me see how they are different, in terms of meaning or perhaps interactions with other cards? Thanks!

Hi everyone, The Chariot is card I always have a hard to interpret as feelings.. I know it's generally about being in control, taking the reins of your life, taking charge of a situation etc so what about feelings? Controlling your feelings for someone? But what are these feelings? Mature love? Willing to have a relationship with this person? What do you think? Thank you so much.
