Hey everybody, After a break from tarot, I've decided to come back full force by doing a daily read and posting it online as a sort of tarot diary to keep building on my skill as a tarot reader. 3 cards that have always stumped me though (apart from the court cards) are Judgement, Justice and Temperance. I can't draw a clear line between the three to differentiate them and explain them better. Judgement for me means finding out what the querent thinks is best for them; Justice is finding what is morally or ethically right for the querent; Temperance is like a combination of the two, what is right morally but also what the querent thinks would benef…

Hello guys, I'm having something really strange happening here. 6 of Swords has been stalking me A LOT recently, I did about 9 readings over the past few days and 6 of Swords came up in around 6 or 7 of them, usually as a base. I've had stalker cards before, but not to such extent. To me, this is actually the best proof that Tarot cards work. What are the chances of this happening? Another card that has been stalking me a little bit is Knight of Cups too, but not to such a great extent (maybe 5 readings or so). I feel like this card is about moving on. I've actually been thinking about breaking things off with my bf. Could it be pointing to t…

I looked up the root of the word "fascism" today, and it is "fasces": including the long history of this symbol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasces, which is a bound wood bundle. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Fascist_Party. Not all of the card decks show them bound, but the Thoth card says OPPRESSION. http://www.esotericmeanings.com/ten-of-wands-thoth-tarot-card-tutorial/ Has this card ever come up for you, or would you use it, as an indicator for describing a fascist person or system? Or only in combination w another card?

It seems every website I look at has a different meaning for this card. My guide book matches some of them, but it's really difficult to know what the right definition is. Obviously it also depends on the subject (love, health, career) but my guide book gives a general meaning of truth, mental clarity. Some websites match this, others say it's about conflict, quick and forceful action or new beginnings and communication. So I don't know which definition is accurate and why people have so many different interpretations of it. May people also say that the suit of swords is generally bad when any of them show up in readings, so I would have thought it would have a mostly neg…

Instead of the meaning of joy and vitality I have my own personal meaning associated with this card. This card represents my mental illness, schizophrenia. I’ve found this card always always pops up when doing readings for my illness. Does anyone know why such a positive card can carry such meaning?

Hello friends! In the past I have posted about this same exact topic. The Sun card has a personal meaning to me. It usually symbolizes my sickness schizophrenia. I had asked why such a card would have a negative meaning. I would like to share my take on the card so far. These are just notes of mine. The Sun Can often be seen as misleading or misunderstood . At a glance if may often lead you to believe there is no hardship. The sun is easily gifted among us. The sun is often the giver of life. And the queret is often the receiver of the sun’s blessings. You will be misunderstood. There is a depth to this card. Stigma and false notions …

Reading up on meanings to The World card (upright), there seems to be a finality about it, perhaps mostly in a positive sense? I'm not sure I understand the kind of "ending" it's suggesting. How final is The World? Death, seems final. Ten of Swords is fairly final, most of the Tenth pip cards denote an ending of sorts. How does the ending in The World fit - it seems like an ending, but at the same time, not. If it turned up at the beginning of a life event, would that mean despite everything seeming fine and good the event is about to finish before it really starts, but the querent has entered a new cycle where they won't really care because wh…

Hi all Can anyone tell me the meaning of the 12 stars in the crown on the Empress please? Reading about it, I find different answers, from being connected to the cosmos or the spirit world to being in control of each month of the year but this feels like it is far older than that. If it were the cycle of the year, would it not be 13 moons? There are many images of the Virgin Mary with a 12 star crown or 12 stars around her head relating back to Revelations (A great portent appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.) The Visconte Sforza shows and Empress dressed in gold with a cro…

I am still learning how to interpret cards for all sorts of situations, spreads, and inquiries. I find myself drawing a blank on how to apply a card's meaning to how it would represent a person (say the querent or about whom the querent is asking). More specifically in relationship spreads where the position of the card is to be read as "Represents Querent/Other Person" and the card is drawn rather than picking a significator. The card that is drawn is not a court card where the meanings are already more person geared. But rather say 4 of Cups or The Tower. How would cards that apply more for situations apply to representing a person? In the 4…

Hi there, I'm looking for some interpretations for the four of coins. I really like the wildwood interpretation of protection, as I don't relate to the fiscal quality of the four of pentacles. I was just wondering if anyone had any additional interpretations of the four of coins/ four of pentacles? Is it that we need to provide protection for ourselves and others? If its upright do you typically interpret that to mean protection for others?

I was casually staring at the Star card yesterday, trying to find anything more obvious than the stock meanings available everywhere. Then I saw the shape of the seven stars. It’s not a V, it’s like the curved sides of a chalice/cup. While Ace of Cups suggests an energy overflowing from the chalice to the waters, it doesn’t place everything in context. There’s a bird again, but a dove, rather than the Ibis on the star. The dove is normally associated with peace, hope after a disaster, if you include the story of The Great Flood, but always “earth bound” issues. The Ibis is said to refer to spiritual Egyptian and Roman stories of gods protecting spirits on journeys - …

I'll share something that happens a lot with me now that I've learned to hear that little elusive voice in the cards. I was looking through my new Forest of Enchantment deck awhile ago and as I came across the Seeker of Boons, suddenly it flashed into my mind "metal detecting." Okay, okay---I know some will think me nuts. But the picture shows a woman who is bending down as if to pluck something at the base of a tree. The Queens in this deck are called Seekers and Boons represent Pentacles which represent coins among other things. People who metal detect and hunt for treasure are often looking for and finding coins, along with other treasures. I enjoy w…

The meanings of the ten of cups like long-term relationship, harmony, soulmates and homecomings tsc.. always brought me a a very happy vibe but in my life this card mostly appears whenever a big relationship is coming to an end (not always a harmonic one). So I personally see this as fate, a karmic long-term relationship coming to it's purpose (and that depending can mean marriege or separation tsc). Any thoughts about how to interprete this card alternative and negative sides? And in what contexts this card has already appeard in your experience?

(Apologies if I have placed this in the wrong subforum. I was debating if this should go in the Personal Readings section, but since I'm not asking for help with interpretation, Individual Card Meanings seemed like a better fit). Yesterday we had a funeral for my grandmother, who passed away just after the new year. The funeral was small, with everyone distant and in masks, and outside as much as possible. Last night I drew my card of the day as I always do, and I was struck by how the day's experience fundamentally changed my understanding of the card. The card was the Three of Wands in the RWS. I have never particularly liked this card. I've alwa…

I think one of the most interesting and intriguing cards when it comes to its meaning is the Hermit. I like the fact that its character is based on isolation, loneliness and self inner-searching (I've always been like that, not in a misanthropic way :)) and it also reminded me of the ancient Greek philosopher Diogenes who had chosen a similar life path. However I am not sure the meaning this card has to offer someone today, given the fact that we as social species (especially today) need to interact with one another in order to build relationships and discover the world (in general). How am I suppose to interpret the Hermit's meaning when it pops up?

Hello everyone. I would like to share some thoughts about the High Priestess. Looking at my notes I come to the conclusion that most of the times the HP comes as a secret in my readings.Something that the querent doesn’t no or he is not in a position to know. For example a few days ago I did a ‘new year’ spread for a member of my family and for January she had HP with another card that can indicate death. After a few days she found out that a friend of her’s died three months ago and she didn’t know about it. I would really like you to share your thoughts.

I would like to start some threads to share some ideas on individual cards.Especially for those decks who have images that look different or strange. This one is for 6 of cups. These days i am studying and started to use some decks that i didn't use till now. One of them is the Scapini Medieval. Some minors on this deck are really strange. Here the 6 of cups has the meaning of past influences, things that have vanished, faded images, longing, childhood past, memories, nostalgia but look how different is the feeling you get when you see this image, how it affects you.Well very different from r/w and the decks based on it i mean. On the r/w deck there is something sweet w…

I'd love to gather some insights on your positive interpretations or connotations with the otherwise heavy and negative Tower card! It's one that always kind of intimidates me, as it seems to be a really devastating card. What positive aspects do you associate with the card and why? How do you interpret the meaning when the card is next to a positive card, such as 6 of wands or 10 of cups for example?

I'm currently reading The Thoth Companion (M.O. Snuffin) and adding to my notes. For the Prince of Cups, I'm confused about his element. According to my 'research' I found the Thoth Prince = Waite Knight. In my notes I have Knights as fire, but in the book it says Princes are Air. While I thought Kings were Air... I'm lost. Or do Thoth and Waite just have a different approach and I should seperate the two schools in my notes?

I started the Halloween/Reading Group yesterday. I decided to turn over one card a day. Today I did the 2nd card: The Rats in the Basement - The secrets you keep from yourself. I pulled the Wheel of Fortune in the Housewives Tarot. Now how would you guys interpret the Wheel of Fortune as secrets I keep from myself? I get the card: luck, change, ups and downs. A positive card. The only way I see how to make it work, is to interpret it like I have to face the fact that life comes with up and downs, I just have to accept fate. Something I have always struggled with. Or is it more like "Hey, psssst, I'll let you in on a secret: you have the right to be lucky too!"? I don't kn…

Hi! I'm doing a study in the Adventurer's Tarot; the deck booklet is extremely sparse and I don't think the definitions are necessarily accurate to the cards. Some cards are specific to this deck, so the above problem paired with an overall lack of information for some of these means I can't figure out better, in-depth meanings for the cards. So, I thought I'd ask you guys- I'm curious to hear other people's thoughts about it, even if it's very DnD oriented ;3
