For me, the HERMIT is the great representation of longing. Mainly because it is associated with the perception of distance, remoteness and separation. Also dejected, melancholic, sad and taciturn. In Portuguese, we call this feeling "saudade". And see how curious: "Saudade" describes the mixture of feelings of loss, lack, loneliness, distance, missing and love. The word comes from the Latin "solitatem" (solitude), through the Galician-Portuguese "soidade". But other letters also remind me of longing, especially on an imagistic and synesthetic level. For example: 5 of Cups - A longing linked to mourning, loss and departure. 6 of Cups - The "goo…

Hello everyone, how would you interpret the Page of Wands in a job context? I generally tend to see this card as a potential job offer. Do you think it may be about something else too? Thank you so much.

Hello everyone, I've read somewhere the Death card can be related to finances in general, but in what ways? I tend to interpret this card in terms of change and transformation, especially after an ending, or also as something inevitable, as paying taxes for example 😂 What do you think? What are your experiences in terms of finances with the Death card? Thank you so much.

Hello everyone, recently I've pull the Knight of Swords to represent the timing of an event (this is NOT a one card reading). I don't actually associate cards to specific time frames, as this method just doesn't work with me, so what I usually do is to consider the card meaning and try to figure out its "timing message" considering that. In this case the Knight of Swords makes me think something like "the event will take place soon", as generally this card is related to the concept of swiftness. What do you think? Could my reasoning make sense? Thank you so much.

Has anyone else noticed that people die that you know when the ten of swords and death appear together in a reading. Or is that just me? Sometimes it's in the life of the person I'm reading for or sometimes I ask a question about one person/topic and it happens, and I hear of a passing that is unrelated.

Hello! 🙂 Yesterday, reflecting on advice related to Page of Swords, I realized how similar it is to the legend of the young King Arthur. When looking for images, it is impossible not to notice several similarities with the image of this card in the best-known tarot representations. This makes me wonder about the qualities of this Page. Representing advantages, this card can indicates intelligence, willingness to learn, communicability and creativity of ideas. Valor, bravery, idealism. Even if he has no experience, the valet's enthusiasm often makes up for this disadvantage. It has valuable information to resolve their issues, and that they should use i…

Hello!! Some context first: I've been learning tarot for a year and while I have some sort of grasp of the basic card meanings, I have difficulty reading reversals confidently. For now, I've been leaning towards it meaning that the energy of the card is present but not complete or realised fully, instead of being the 'negative' meaning of the card, but I'm not 100% sure if this approach works for me yet. I've been doing ad hoc one card pulls for the day, only twice this week and both times were the ace of swords reversed. Surely my cards are trying to tell me something but I don't know what it is! I thought it could refer to the need to think and communicate m…

Hello everyone, I was wondering about another possible meaning of the 4 of Pentacles as feelings.. This card often occurs to me to mean jealousy or no feelings at all, but what about someone holding back their feelings? Like you're attracted to someone, but you try to ignore your emotions. Could this make sense with the 4 Pents? Thank you in advance.

Personally, I think eight of wands and knight of wands are the typical cards that indicate travel. What are your thoughts?

Hi all, I was wondering what your thoughts and experiences are regarding the 9 of Wands. I have been working almost exclusively with RWS-inspired decks, and my impression, going by the artwork, was always that of a guy who is pretty defensive and miserable. Dude is exhausted! He looks like he's standing his ground, but he's had it, basically. He looks grumpy and kind of stubborn, and doesn't appear to be having any fun with those wands. This seemed to go with some of the often-used meanings of the card, which also seem to underline this: boundaries,, dedication to a cause, persistence of purpose, defensiveness, holding a line, inflexibility, I've …

I learned Tarot originally from Eden Gray. She said that the 3 of Pentacles was the Master--which makes sense to me because only a highly accomplished sculptor would get to do cathedral arches. She said the the 8 was the Apprentice, that makes sense to me too as he's manufacturing the same item over and over to hone his craft. What definitions do you use for these two cards?

Hi there - just wanted to ask since the Devil as an archetype is alluring and seductive, would drawing it reverse indicate that the person whom I am asking about consider me unattractive? This is one aspect of he card I hadnt thought about.

What does the world mean in tarot in general? And what does it mean when you’re asking what someone thinks of you? I haven’t had this in a while but just thought I’d ask!

Not trying to be fancy here, but as I understand the Bicameral Mind as a theory, hypothesis or proven mental operation, it suggests one part of the mind speaks and the other listens and obeys. I'm not sure this mental operation is exactly what I'm attributing to the interpretation of this card I've come to defer to, but for me it works like this, for example: Say I am constructing a platform that must be assembled in a stairwell so painting can take place. The building of it will have to be thought through in detail so that when it is legged up the uppermost surface will be level and safe for placing a step ladder. I won't call this mental preparation meditati…

I saw this question on another site and would like to hear your thoughts on this. If 10 of Cups comes up in a spread for you as "something to let go of" or "cut off", how do you plan on interpreting this or breaking the news to the querent?

I have been reading that some people view the Hermit as a negative card denoting isolation, loneliness and withdrawal. The way I learned it is that it represents a beacon of light for the seeker. The Hermit is at the mountain top remove himself from the materialistic world and concentrate on the spiritual. You can count on his wisdom and his lamp can shed nee light on a situation and guide the seeker on their path to a positive end. Since I read with reversals is read the reversed Hermit as being isolated, withdrawn. disconnected and lovely. What do all you think? How do you read it in a spread?

Hi all. This is my first time here and first time posting, and I'm fairly new to tarot. Two of Wands came up in a reading I did recently, and based on its placement and the story forming around it, it suddenly occurred to me that it was Two of Fire and could be interpreted as Twin Flames. I'd love to hear if anyone else has had this feeling about Two of Wands.

Does anyone else have insight on the empress representing a 3rd party woman that a man is prioritizing? This has come up the case several times in both personal and reading for clients which turned out to be true (though sometimes she turns out to be a mom for a man who puts his mom before all other women) but why must I have such a negative association to love in the tarot- why would she be bad for feelings readings? For guidance in love I see it as good as imo she represents self care, self love, connection with your divine feminine, beautifying your space and life...but such a ugly meaning of at times betrayal in choosing another woman to detriment of 1 woman when it c…

By the way, the illustration below isn't a layout or a reading. What cards might mean 'uneasiness'? Not outright fear, or worry (like you would get from the 9 of Swords, etc) ...but just that naggy feeling you get when everything seems fine, but something just doesn't feel right. And you can't tell (yet) what that something might be. I do use reversals when I read, so these cards are the way I'd read them, if they were to appear in a layout. I went through the RWS deck and chose 8 cards I think MIGHT represent cards that might make you uneasy. You might caution yourself not to count chickens even AFTER they've hatched. Obviously the car…

Hello all.... I was recently curious about the Tower and wanted to understand the intensity of this card. Do you associated it with the 'good' sometimes? Or is it just bad most of the of the times? What has your biggest Tower moment been?

Hello everybody! So I wanted to know if anybody would be willing to share their thoughts, feelings and experiences with this card. I like the king of wands kinda sorta lol. But I really see him as the bachelor of the deck, he loves the ladies and the spotlight. To me he’s a cheater as well but he’s not like the knight of wands a flighty lover, no he’s the kinda of lover who’s very charming so it’s hard to want to let him go. And not to mention he’s attractive (my ex pops up as the king of wands now). But he is definitely a ladies man and he can be domineering as well as bossy. But once again he knows how to inject his charm and charisma so he doesn’t seem bossy and domine…

I always get confused on how to read the Moon card. Especially when it comes to a future outlook. I recently pulled the moon surrounded by several typically positive cards. If anybody has experienced similar or has advice on how I can look at this card that would be amazing ❤️

Hi everyone, I'm dealing with the renovations of my grandpa's house, actually still with red tape stuff (I haven't taken out the mortgage yet, so renovation hasn't started yet), but the problem is the whole thing is very expensive, more than what I and my partner expected. We can find the money, but it will take more time. The Queen of Wands turned out as advice in this situation, but how does this lady behave in these matters? My idea is I need to be more confident, as we will make it, but it's not enough.. I don't like this card, because I'm not at all like her. What do you think? Thanks a lot.
