Amberjune Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 The Lua Tarot is my first tarot purchase for 2021. It's a black and white deck. Though I tend to prefer decks in color, this one just looks so beautiful that I wanted to know how it reads and play with it.

OA&T was supposed to be 2nd edition, but for reasons I don't really understand, I'm getting one from the 1st, just without the kickstarter bells and whistles. I don't actually know what the difference is, if any.

In this case it's because it would set me back over $100CAD when shipping is included and the exchange rate is factored in. Who knew I'd strike out three times with decks of this theme? I clearly just happen to like decks that are either difficult to find, overly pricey, or both. Edit: You know what? After careful consideration, I decided to get it anyways. I really feel like this is the animal deck for me. Plus, as I charged it to my credit card, I decided to pay off half of it, and the other half will be charged to my next bill. As that other over-priced deck I'm getting, Yokai Yochi Tarot, won't be charged to me until next month, I'm not actually going to be paying for that until the following bill. So...I can afford both. It's just ill advised. But...I'm going to do it, because I expect to get years out of both decks. Plus, I'm near the point where I'll have decks to fill all the niches I want, so I fully intend to stop buying more before too long. I was happy with what I had, but lately watched some vids re this deck and decided I needed it :-). The Pamela Centennial is my go to, but this is pretty close.

The postman will be bringing me a CUSTOM case for my latest tarot purchase, the borderless Smith-Waite by US Games. The case will be done by our very own LoveLightPeace! VERY EXCITED to have found someone who will make me custom cases again!

That sounds interesting, I'll look it up! It's not one of her earlier books, re-issued under a different title? They did that with Tarot Constellations, which was republished as 'Who are You in the Tarot?', subtitled 'Discover your Birth and Year Cards and Uncover your Destiny'. Hedera Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 (edited) It's been ages since I bought a tarot deck, but I just discovered the Gentle Tarot (here: https://thegentletarot.com although shipping to the EU is cheaper on Etsy, https://www.etsy.com/listing/870517754/the-gentle-tarot . Some wonderful blog posts and card musings on her own site though). I love the colours, and the way everything is just warm and saturated; it reminds me a bit of the Golden RWS (the oop one) in that way, which I don't have. Pretty untraditional, but in a way that *really* clicks with me. Seeing the images brought tears to my eyes. Perhaps it's a 'nice-washed' deck, but I really don't care: life has been a little too interesting in the past year, I can do with some gentle warmth. Besides, usually it's the softest, sweetest decks with the most harmless looking cards that give me readings like a spiritual uppercut! 😄 ~~~ Edit: oh, and she is working on a pocket version, too!! :heart: Edited February 16, 2021 by Hedera
